Yet another Frenchie purchased

I purchased this 1995 Peugeot 205 Mardi Gras Diesel last week to use as a cheap everyday car to commute to work. The car has had 2 owners from new, the last one for 14 years. The car came with full service history and less than 38000 miles which the service history backs up. I put the car in for an MOT on Friday which it passed without me even looking at it. I have a feeling some PTS decals might appear somewhere aswell and as far as I am concerned the obligatory GTI front and rear spoiler. Not the best looking colour for a 205!

Thats going to look great with the new wheels, did you have them powdercoated? plus I recon its a nice, rare understated colour for a 205. Almost makes it look like its wearing body coloured bumpers!

The wheels were powder coated several years ago and have been fitted to several 2.05's over the last few years.

I posted it in the "News24" thread yesterday, it was a J reg D Turbo, sadly the engine was very ropey and the boot floor had rotted away.

Indeed it does have a bosch injector pump.All my other 205's Diesels have Lucas pumps.

205's really are the mega bargain of the moment. 

Just bought, as in on Monday of the local Gumtree and I think the seller was happy just to sell to a human after lots of typical Gumtree muppet questions.

N reg 3 door 1100cc in bright red, one owner, full and I mean full service history from day one including the original bill of sale, 75,000, inside and body as new, runs perfectly, 12 months MOT....£450!

Happy days.

By the way where did you get the stripes, are they reproduced, they look superb.

I purchased the decals from AJ's designs and signs, can be found on ebay if you search for Peugeot 205 GT decals.

Very observant, you can barely make it out. Porter of Ayr are long gone now.

Yeah I've got a bit of a fetish for plates and stickers for old Ayrshire main dealers, being from just outside Glasgow most cars here were usually full of Arnold Clark, Park's and Reg Vardy branding so anytime my dad would take us a run in the car to Killie, Irvine, Ayr, Troon, Saltcoats etc I'd look out for them.

 

Yeah I remember Robert Wyper had the Peugeot franchise in Ayr/Killie in the later 90s, then Park's after they took over Wypers and now as is the norm Arnie, I've actually got reproduction Robert Wyper plates/sticker on my car which was sold new by Parks Irvine (previously Wypers)

 

Last Porter of Ayr car I saw was a dark blue N reg 406 in Ayr many years ago.

Amazing attention to detail ! If my cars looked this clean, I don't think I would be able to drive them for fear of ruining them !
