"...At asking price I will include what is left of the paint (Neary half a tin) and a roller."

For 495 snots I would hope that Roller to be of the Silver Cloud persuasion.

Mind you compared to the z3 in ebay chod fred i know which I'd rather have

I'm sure I saw that Mk1 on a trailer around the midlands not long ago. It did look very very tidy.

Beige. Surely that adds a couple of grand to its value?

Hmmm....sure, this late Sierra looks pretty much showroom fresh, thoroughly original just the way I like them and has only done diddy miles in the hands of, I presume, a single family owner. It really is a peach.

£2990 though? Strong money. I'm sure it'll be worth it if it appeared in another five years or so but not quite yet.

I paid £400 for my saloon which still has it's entire bodykit... it's also been badly painted, but at least he knew what the windows were for and used a similar shade of paint...

I always quite fancied one of these, but having welded up a mates p6 3500 back in the mid 1980's I have a pretty good idea where these can rot etc etc

I even had a 2200sc for a while and marvelled at the smoothness of the whole thing.

Time has not been friendly to this one and I would expect this to consume a dozen reels of mig wire before you get it right

seems a little on the steep side at £1400

That's not steep, it's vertical..................

very good condition with no rot anywhere, there is very slight bubbling at the top of passenger door and on both wing mirrors

that'll be rot then. Not acceptable on a car that price.

This must be a error? £14k for a fucked Mk1 Fiesta?!

£1395 surely, but even then that's with a hefty dollop of Old Blue Oval Tax. Decent original mk1 Fiestas are still out there for under a grand

Posted

That's 100% a mistake. It's got to be. I know there are "optimistic" dealers, chancers hoping for idiots who have been dropped on their heads, but even £1395 is MEGA MASSIVELY X FACTOR LITTLE MIX CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE optimistic for a mk1 fez with some Makro bucket seats (Ok, they are corbeau, but they are "worthless blue" so no good to anyone who can see well enough to pass a driving test), a set of alloys worth more as "CAST ALUMINIUM GRADE 2" and some clear back lights bought out of the back of revs magazine in 2004. for a mk2.

Advert has been amended to £1395 - still more than I would pay for that. The green one is much nicer.

Have we seen this Mk1 Cortina yet? It really is incredible but I can't decide if it's way too dear or not. I think it's up for about £22k in magazines which is Lotus money.

http://www.cortinamk1forsale.co.uk/

That is beautiful though.

£22k has to be some way off what it cost to get it looking like that and if you were shopping for a concourse mk1 GT then this has to be the cheapest way to win tropheys

Still it is a long way out of my league and I doubt I would spend £22k on all the cars I might need until I hang up the ol stringbacks

Posted

Yup.

But despite the beautiful restoration and the fact that it was probably a quick enough car in its day, £22k buys you a Lotus Carlton & enough change left over for a fairly tidy albeit not quite so concours Mk 1 Cortina as well.

Posted

^ Christ that is dear, especially as it's actually a SEAT Corboba with a different badge

Wonder what you would do with this after you bought it? £5500 is an expensive lark.

Drag race the fat mouth breathing slipper wearing fuckers down the shopping centre or car boot sales.... And win.

Absurd. Loonies or euromillions shiters only in the market for that Honda at that price.

What to do if your car remains unsold for a year at £25,000?

Advertise it for £40,000 :D

What a gorgeous car... except for the whitewalls. What on earth possessed them to put those on? a) they look extremely tacky on such a classy vehicle and B) they are not correct for the era of the car.

Still, anyone daft enough to cough up that much money could easily afford a tin of black paint.
