Not sure if this one has popped up in the Ebay thread?

It's under some discussion on the PC forum. I don't think the bidding was started artificially high but there's clearly something important about it. Most likely comment is that ti shares mechanical parts with a Gullwing?

Check the 3rd question posed!!! "Does it drive OK?" Numptus Maximus.

1989 Ford Escort 1.4 GL Estate

51K on the clock, nice condition. How about £2995?

I do like that though; I could do with an estate car that size for occasional lugging duties.

Sell you mine for a lot less

Sorry Poggles, but I think that Escort looks one hell of a lot better with the bubble arches than it would without.'Narrow arch' Mk1 Escorts look crap to me, the Mex front wings make 'em look a lot better, but a good set of bubble arches is ace - mainly because it would look hideous on a 4dr Mk1.

1979 Datsun 160J

This has turned up before, but it is now up at an all-new price - £10000! It is utterly lovely and does indeed have near-zero mileage, but I'm sure they were trying to sell it for half that before with no success. Where's the logic?

It's very nice and much as I like Datsuns, I can think of far more interesting cars to buy for ten grand!

Hmmmm, im not too good with Jap cars but surely thats not possible? The diesel Cedric had 60bhp and was a 2.0, so who knows?Of course its possible its been swapped for some prehistoric diesel lump.

No, the SD22 puts out a magnificant 66bhp! To be honest that's probably the "right" sort of money for one if it's in really good nick. The 130's are pretty rare now. There's only three in this country that I know of and two of those need serious help. in fact I don't think one of them is even salvageable.

While I dont mind the look of that Estate with bubbles, I reckon I'd prefer it without. Normal 2drs can look great with bubbles if done right but i still like them with narrow arches or Mex arches. The Estate looks rubbish with those quarter bumpers though, and the spots are a bit crap although acceptable.

Mental it may be, but that's what they fetch.............

It's true. If that's a genuine Chapron 'vert, it's bang on the money.

I personally think that Estate is a more than a little nasty.

Im not keen on bubbles on anything other than 2drs and the pinstipes and trim (Spots, grill, dash, wheels, bumpers!!?) could have been painted any colour that didn't manage to look like babyshite green and clash with the lovely Roman Bronze.

Seats are shit too. And 5spoke 4stud wheels always look a little wrong IMO.
