Non-vehicular price escalation.

On this speculative basis my box of [-]moldy tat[/-] rare and valuable motoring periodicals is worth a grand more than it was yesterday.

I would absolutely pay £15 for my very own Issue 1 of Joypal.

I meant to order back issues while they were still available, but on pocket money of 50p per week in 1992 it was sadly beyond my fiscal ceiling at the time. Whereas £15 is just within reach these days.

I went unsold so make him an offer before it goes out in the recycling

Do you know who was selling it, at all? The post upthread only had a picture, not a link to the listing. I checked and can't find owt...

EDIT: tracked down the seller and messaged him. I found a box containing all my Jafloppys up in the attic while putting away the festive tat, and bitterly regret that my collectionette only starts at #3... Would like to remedy that, if possible. Hoping to chase blokey down and put in an offer (if it isn't already in the bin, as you say!)

EDIT EDIT: It's still there and available. But the cover's coming away a bit around the staples, apparently. Sooooo... now the fun starts. How loooooow do I go?

Well it's worth a tenner of excitement to me and also probably at the bottom of its curve.

I might have #2, will check, but now I know it's so valuable I could be persuaded to swap it for one of your gooners

I think it has the potential to looks very good tbh. Maybe not £2.5k good, but still...

I thinks so too but this mess looks hashed up and aborted

You'd be so very welcome to one of them...

There are better pics on the link, but my comment was aimed at the general shape tbh... many 'kit car' body shapes are not easy on the eye, this one works well.

Five-Thousand Pounds. Yes, Five-Thousand!

And no, that's not for the Dub bits, it's for the remains of some Chinese tosh underneath!

We do have a small stock of 12a rotary engines and gearboxes which will require a rebuild/refresh which could be negotiated at a seperate price after car is purchased.

Which fucking car are you talking about?

....Which fucking car are you talking about?

I suppose it could be a Mazda....

....and most people who have anything to do with Mazdas would have half an idea that a 12A is a Mazda Wankel engine, as used in the Series 1 RX7 and quite a few NSU Ro80s, Superseded by the 13B.

I think the point was he's not selling a car, he's selling a selection of parts which together with stuff not included, go together to make a car.

A bit like me selling you three tonnes of topsoil and a boulder as a "landscaped garden"

In other words, yer man's selling what we'd be calling "a kit"...

I was not sure weather to put this here, E Bay tat, or cars you've never heard of.

Never seen a 4 door vanguard estate before, but others may will know more. Maybe the Mulliners tag is a clue.

3,000 GBP for it.

6-clock Mk1 Escort RS / Mex dash.

Pretty much the same as GT but with 140mph speedo and different revcounter which goes to 8, not 7, although engine redline is still 6500 regardless. Minor detail differences and clocks set a little deeper in their holes.

Currently "bid" to £520.

For an Escort dash binnacle. Does not include Escort.

↓↓ This is what we sometimes used to do with discarded Mk1 Escort 6-clock dashboards.

Anyone want an Astra. Not just any Astra though, a Belmont so less practical and loads less desirable than the hatch.

To top this off its got no MOT either.

£4k.

Vanguard is as horrible to drive as it looks. Diesel version can't be much fun either, but I've never had the honour. Special feature is a con-rod that won't go in from the top and a piston that won't go in from the bottom. I'd still have a derv van one with manual overdrive for maximum perversity though.
