ebay 'BARGAINS'

That is going to fold up like metal origami if taken off road. You can't make something that long out of 1/2" pipe and expect structural integrity. Probably best that it stays as a driveway ornament.

Building a 'beach buggy'; when you live in land locked Derbyshire really does reek of more money than functioning braincells, it is worth about 27p, and 2nd on the Monster graphics, they scream WANKER!! in 50 ft high neon letters.

This belongs in the JFSI thread, what a steaming pile of dogshit, would be good for turning up at a Sherpa Sports meet, they would choke on their beer with bits of twig in

We are in the UK, ffs. What you really need here is a fucking heater!

Anyway, yours for only* 10 bags if you know a suitable beach or desert in your vicinity,

or a farmer who wouldn't give you both barrels if you took it to one of his fields.

Are the brake discs on that off of a mountain bike?

That thing'd be fucking hopeless in the dunes. Standard Prado wheels and lowish profile tyres, big V6 hanging out the arse, and about 3in clearance at the back. Take a shovel, a tow rope, and a Nissan Patrol along with you...

Posted

You'd think that, being a car dealer he'd know a Rev counter or tachometer isn't called a REVOMETER ffs.

First jump over one of Derbyshires famous* dunes and it looks like it'd bend like a banana.

How about sixteen bags for £4k worth of restored Austin A30 saloon.

For that price, you don't even get a picture of the interior, just a single blurred picture of the dashboard. The guff about the paint scheme being for the Queen's Coronation is utter nonsense. Balmoral Blue was only offered on the AS3, not the AS4, and never with two-tone paint (apart from in certain export markets). The paint doesn't even look like Balmoral to me. I think it's been painted in a non-standard colour scheme, complete with matching steering wheel and dashboard shelf, has certainly had some body repairs and the doors aren't a perfect fit either. We don't even get to know if it's got its original registration number.

Verdict: clueless chancer.

I think the whole kit was bought from Toy R Us.

Also note the multiple Falken tyres stickers, and it has fucking Dunlops on too. This is excellent source material for ripping the piss out of an imbecile

Most of his write up looks most* like a lift and paste from the Dubai sales sheet that suckered him in.

In Dubai, with 800+ HP and turdos to play with looks like a right fucking larf

In Derby ......

*except for the smudge marks from the tears of pain while his wife is knocking 7 bells of shit out of his sorry arse

Not eBay but spotted this in Custom Car - these are a Beetle based kit, nothing wrong with them as such (if you like that sort of thing), but the price has to be a typo?

What else would you do with 65k?

In fact I just had a look, and buying two Escort Mexicos for the same price might be a better investment if you want to buy into ye olde world rally scene.

Fuck me - I had a genuine one of these in the early 1990s.

Even if it sold for a third of that, would still be 10X what I sold it for.

'Could be made road legal' -  Good luck getting that through an SVA test for registration!

Allegedly, despite the interweb reports, it did not sell, just a troll based sham!

land rover series 2a

3,9cc engine

with modified body panels

Vehicle has historical tax disk so free to use on road. I also have the original vin plates

Mate! it's a cut down Range Rover chassis with all it's running gear and a series 3 body haphazardly balanced on top

The pictures in the ad were taken using the sellers toaster I think

Q: Hi, do you have the v5, is it 3.9 on the v5 and is the vin plate for a 2a or the range rover chassis it's on ?? Thanks
A: Hi Yes have V5 it is 2286.cc. Its a 2A.

Land Rover series 2 body

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-series-2-body-/282572104314?hash=item41ca9c227a:g:8OwAAOSwcx5ZZyKv

looking at the pics and reading the description

coil sprung Defender galvanised chassis

5 speed manual

2.5 300 TDI

Power steering

Disc Brakes

and

registered on V5 as a 1959 Leyland AM 4x4 untilty

It also has what is quite possibly the most stupid looking and useless rollover hoops known to mankind, looks to be bolted to the galv capping on the alloy rear tub. Cannot see any way at all that it is bolted through to the chassis, so roll over and the screen goes flat and the roll over bar compresses the rear wings. And it looks completely gash. what an absolute load of cunt

verdict = if Barbie's Ken drove a Land Rover this is what it would look like

to you mon brave? £ 30 fucking bags!!

I kid you not, just fucking look at it

That Sand Rail thing hasn't half got a load of copy and paste bollocks in the advert.

Mind you I started getting a bit turned on by some of it.

Reminds me of a girl I used to know.

He should keep it for four years, then it'll be worth £60000.

The sad thing is he is probably right. High end classics with good history have been making stupid money over the last few years. Even Rolls Royce's have put on over a grand on rough projects over the last couple of years. They actually have a stock market type price index for Porsche and Ferrari classics. As 911's go out of the reach of normal people the lesser models will fill the gap. Fingers crossed the next one to go ballistic will be the Boxster S

I can;t get over this bloody "beach buggy" thing

Look at the brakes! Are they off a chinese Mini Moto or something? My fucking pushbike has bigger disks than that!

Posted

If you put much more braking force in though, the whole lot will fold up due to the builder repurposing an IKEA clothes rack as structural chassis tubing.
