Series one Land Rover. Petrol.

This Landrover has been stored in a dry barn with dry radiator. It is in good condition and was driven in there. This is a complete vehicle and should run if it has a battery and a little clean up. I can tow it out and give it a pressure wash off if needed. There is a spare roof with the vehicle. all the windows are there along with mirrors etc which are all inside the vehicle for storage.

The numberplate alone WFM 4 which is the original reg of the vehicle was priced at £5000. I don't want to go through the hassle of selling it individually so just want to sell the vehicle with it, but it may be an option for someone to sell the number and end up with a cheap vehicle.

dont put yourself out

wouldn't that number plate be non transferable? making it worthless.

It'll surely be transferrable, once that Landy has an MOT. So, erm.... yeah you might be right. Five quid says it gets transferred using the same blunt object that prises the VIN plate off.

I'm trying to find the relevant bit of info an the dvla site but I thought cars of that age had "non-transferable registration mark" stamped on the v5, friend of mine has it on the v5 of his '59 AJS/matchless.

Posted

I think that applies to cars that have been issued with a pre-'63 registration after being plate raped.

Posted

I thought it was any car that had had a plate assigned after first registration.

My old Vectra had at one point had a private plate, it belonged to a used car dealer in Cornwall (somebody Rolls). It had then been given a T-suffix plate for the correct year but on the V5, it was stated to be non-transferable. There was nothing special about that plate, it was just a bog standard reg.

The advert states that WFM4 was the original registration for that Landy, not a private transfer.

Thanks, that explains it.

It also applies to cars that were not on the DVla computer. My Messerschmitt has its original number but it is non transferable S the number was given back in 1991 when the car went back on the road.

That's right; They're all ugly over-priced heaps of tat in uninspiring colours except the Alfa Romeo which is red and lovely.

For over priced the Fiesta does take the arse biscuit at £7,995. I particularly like the close up shot of its pound land week trim, clearly showing rust bubbling up on the rear arch/ sill area.

The seller [email protected] would like to hear from you, or you can phone him on 01825 818715.

LOL that Fiesta is overpriced by about 4-500%, hopeless. To be fair though they don't look like experts in shite-dealing.

Exciting update! This has been added:

There are to many watchers 66-73 people watching each time !! Just Bid !!

The scam E Type listing has already been pulled.

Anybody looked at the finance deal on that Fiesta, Makes the guy with the car sales site in Leigh on sea look like a charity shop.

£799.50 Deposit +

£301.90 first payment +

58 x monthly payments of £152.90 +

and a £301.90 final payment =

leaving a £10,271.50 total payable, for a average looking 1100 Fiesta!

^ No finance company will accept that proposal! Most will only lend a maximum of 10/20% above Glasses guide value anyway..

Maybe not as jaw-dropping as some of the 'offers' in this thread, but this made me giggle:

$(KGrHqV,!k0FBR67QW-sBQk(6t1q8w~~60_12.JPG

This bumper selection box of CZ bits, including an engine with pitted output shafts, rusty clutch plates, some random rusty crap, and - the piece de resistance - half an axle stand. All yours to live the dream of Czechoslovakian motorcycling for only £145.99.

To be fair, there is a 'best offer' available on it, but I don't think 'fuck all' counts as an offer.

Posted

^ My favourite picture in that CZ parts lot has to be the one of the top half of the axle stand... I genuinely suspect the seller thinks it might be part of the bike engine.

Which is worth about £6.37p in total, at current scrap value.

I had a bloke at a VW show last year claiming a trolley jack handle was part of the gear linkage for a T25 van
