Not sure if they are the 'original' wheels as they are LX/LXi ones not GTE. It's all irrelevant though as it's about three times at least what it's real value is.

A fiver change from 30k - what more could you want?

Something a lot better, which, for £30,000, could be almost anything.

I can't get over the asking prices of those performance Escorts.

I could buy a decent example of my childhood dream car for myuch less - a 1980s Porsche 928S. 8)

Or two of mine - Bentley Mulsanne Turbo.

They were the same original wheels as my 1990 one had on them, but yeah also used on later LXis to get rid of the last of the range.

Earlier LX and GL models had wheeltrims.

Oh, and I sold mine only needing a bit of work for £250. Another £500 of garage time (aka a couple of days putting sills on) would have seen it right.

Classified ad price: £4,200.00

HA!

You'd think after the first time he chucked it on t'Bay, he'd have got the idea that there isn't anyone stupid enough, with enough money to bite. And get up to Inverness to collect it. Predictable outcome take 2 coming up?

That just made I larf.

Escort prices are getting very silly. Autoplas - I genuinely don't know why you or anyone would pay £30,000 for a car like that. It's still only a fast saloon. £30,000 gets you a TVR Chimaera and a very enjoyable amount of fuel. I know which I'd rather have.

Or a DB7 and change. Or a Lotus Carlton and change. Both about 27 million times better and nicer to own I'd imagine.

Cannot believe Aston Martin put their name to THAT.

I am sure that it is an EU scam. as a manufacturer they need to have clean cars on the books or something like that. :?

I saw one pulling out of the AM stealers in Amersham and shouted to my boys "Ohhhhhh an Aston Martin" the salesman looked most put out as he sunk down in the drivers seat.

That's two of us.

I can think of a lot of things I'd rather spend 30 large on than an Escort, however imacculate or well-specced.

For me, a 30 grand Ford would need to look like this:
