I only found out the other day that my dad had one of these in the mid 70's that he sold to buy a Hillman Avenger Tiger, Can't decide if he was mad or not?!.

I know fords have scene tax but the Avenger Tiger in my eyes is a far better car 8)

They've spelt "Del Boy" wrongly on the driver's seat, haven't they?

No price given but this phrase fills me with

garage stored for past 10 years to allow the car to appreciate as a collectable / modern classic

Now I know they're a good car when the rear arches aren't turning to dust, but its no Lotus Carlton is it?

Atleast they've bothered to list the mileage.

There was this one on ebay here where the mileage was obviously high but they decided not to list it.. fucking pisses me off when they do that.[/url]

As usual, I've had one of these. Nice car. Did 25k miles in a year in it and other than popping a radiator hose it was immensely reliable. I'd have another. This eas mine (in '99)

That must mean at least £1000 of scene tax

I've seen that van on my rounds; I believe its the church view estate in laindon SS15.The place is a bit grim, and full of "geezers". I wouldn't be surprised if it reappears.....

STOP PRESS!!!

Someone has actually paid £1200 for it! Does he know that shill bidding doesn't work with "Buy it now?"

Well £1200 is a bit steep for something that needs finishing, but at least it has T&T. Mk3 vans are rare now, and at least it's changed hands before the 'damage' has been done, hope the new owner doesn't ruin it!

HA HA, that cougar ad is class, check the big ups he's allegedly had from INTERNETS PPL:

"you have the dog by the bollicks, it's how the Cougar should of been right from conception.. "

"damn you Europeans and your sexy full cougar S..."

Sold for £3900. It doesn't even run!

Still, I can't blame whoever bought it - they can bosh a working engine in it, give the wheels a coat of silver, test it up and sell it for £10K or so. All because of some minor trim differences from the facelift.

It beggars belief, but that's the "scene" for you.

Fookin ell, £4k for that! If someone had offered it to me for £150 i'd have said 'hmm, nah thanks', shows how much I know.

Other than the scene-laden thing with them, I have a slight problem with Mk1 Golfs in that they’re a bit too rational, not at all silly enough. Almost a bit too good? I like things to represent the era they’re from, and they don’t for me.That light blue S-reg 1.1 3dr I saw in Norfolk was a nice old car, but I couldn’t see anything with it that made it worth numerous times what most other similar stuff of that age would be.

I'd like to bet that living by the sea has done it no favours, despite the glowing reviews of the experts that have been to see it. I bet the house clearance dude who was selling it can't quite believe his luck. It'll be fun to look out for when he turns up an E-reg Mk2 Polo breadvan expecting it to make 4gs - the £50 top bid will balance out the world's karma.

Lucky bugger, Bet he couldn't believe his luck when it sold for £3900!.

Bit like me a few months back when i brought a job lot of old children's books from an auction for £25 and finding a LP single of the Funky Nassau by Ray Munnings in the box which sold for £195 on ebay! :shock:8) plus the extra £150 i made on the books!.

Fuggin Ada! N-reg Golf :shock::shock: Would be be lovely to see that concours with no daft bits on it.I always promised myself a Mk1 at some stage, must get round to it one day before the bandwagon has no seats left....

I had a black one in 91, with a genuine single light gti grill and gti 5 1/2 steels.... it was a 1.1  A whole lot cooler than a nova or a metro 8)

I'll second that. Unfortunately it'll probably not happen.
