So the observant amongst those still awake will notice there's a new member of the family in there. Obv. it's a diesel and obv. it's a Bosch pump, so that makes 4 diesel PSA motors now. That said the estate might be off to pastures new this afternoon, but I'm not counting any chickens just yet.

I also swapped the wheels/tyres round 'twixt estate and ZX, so the meatier tyres will hopefully help it corner a bit better. Took the wheel trims off the estate (and the roof aerial!)  and put them on the trim-less/aerial-less/newly acquired TD, and the ZX trims went onto the estate. I think having no trims on the ZX means it just looks sort of shitter in a good way, if that's even possible.

The n/a hatch repaid me by running on after I turned the engine off and has been a bit hesitant recently, so my dreams of getting to 5,000 miles on veg oil only are probably scuppered now. I might try and get 3,000 but it may be pushing it a bit.

How long did you piss about moving those around the yard this morning?! Loving the Peugeot flash on the back window too!

Billy, that's most impressive. In a way only chodbotherers of this electronic parish can appreciate...

That's a smart sales forecourt you've got there.

You need a vandalised portakabin as a salesroom and some tattered bunting though.

And a Yorkshire terrier on a bit of string.

Just a Cabrio and a 3dr away from the full set! I may have missed something but wasn't MYK the 5 door in Scotland last week ?!

Edit - I was forgetting the saloon version (like most new car buyers did)

I think Peugeot called it the "sedan"to make us think it was a class act.

I am biased as I am running a 306 na dizzler but I am really enjoying it, it bats along the motorway ok as long and you don't fancy racing a matiz as you will look daft as it flies off into the distance. Yeah the windows work 8 out of 10 times, if you turn the hrw on the radio signal goes, the remote don't work even after I bought another key fob that didn't work so why not buy another second hand one still nothing, tried cleaning the sensor as the sunroof leaks through it, coded it everyway going according to the internet, remote locking is for flash gits anyway.

But it cost me 500 quid with full mot a bit of tax and full history a recent cam belt, all that's broke is the alternator and I have prob done 10000 miles in it now.

I thought a 1970s beige 2 berth caravan with its door hanging off

Also: Transit no more.

Posted

I'd looked up insurance, and all but convinced myself I needed that transit when u advertised it. What happened to it in the end?

Posted

It's gone to Scotland as part of a deal with the 306.

Billy, I think you need help mate ... I say ditch all of them that don't have turbo's, cos dizzlers without turbos are poo.

Posted

How very dare you! The hatch is ok as an n/a, you just get used to it eventually.

I'd go so far as to say the original 306 actually looks better than the facelifted one, it just looks neater somehow.  It's an impressive collection, I'm going to predict that the estate ends up being replaced with an XUD 405.

You should get one of those pics for the Autoshite calender 2014.

I can beat this by once having two Astra mk3's, a Corsa TD, a Nova GSi, a Calibra and a Cavalier at the same time! Didn't get a photo of them all together though!

erm......:D

Great fleet Billy,  306's have been on my watchlist every time I've gone car shopping but I've not even ridden in one yet.

I used to think this, but my Doblo van disproved the theory

I've never owned one, although there were a couple on offer when I bought the 406; but I have driven one.  As a rental!  I had a cabrio for a few days in Tenerife many years ago.  I remember I did like it, rather a lot.  Think it was a 2.0.  I would buy one, certainly, especially if I found an automatic cabby in a nice colour.

Isn't R9UKE selling his Roland Garros cab? Seem to remember that being auto

And a plus one on the flash on the rear window. You cant seem to get class like that anymore. If you can I would like to know where from.

Is that so?  I didn't even know he had one!  Damn you, I've just filled up my street with my beloved Volvo and now you're strewing my path with cabrios.  May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits!

I got the SHITEBACK from here! I do need to remove the hazchem '306' thing from the back of the hatch though, that was an experiment that didn't really 'work'.
