What a fantastic collection. Kudos BenjyP10! :) The Cavalier and the Talbots appeal on level and the Eastern Bloc motors on another. Fabulous! B)

I managed to miss this when it first came around... This is amazing, it's hard to believe that one man can acquire so much megashite in such great condition without there being some kind of time travelling skullduggery involved.

These are all wonderful. All of it. It's like some sort of direct feed to a Shitist's dreams or something.

You sir, are some sort of legendary type legend and I salute you. Twice.

I basically sit here in shock looking at the pics. Amazing. How did you come to hear about the cars and how long have you owned them for? That yugo convertible looks better than new!!!

Posted

I've owned most of them for the last 3 years. I stalk every web site and forum I can to locate the cars, plus being a member of the clubs put you in contact with motors before they hit flea bay....the Yugo Cabrio has been serviced today and ready for its first ever MOT. It will be at the NEC for those that venture there.

That yeller Yugo is sex on wheels, and I know Lada Centre Cars very well, mum had a Riva 1200L from there back in 1986!

Wow! You my friend are living the dream, the Autoshite dream. Respect!

Posted

Benjy, you sir ARE Autoshite!  I'm almost crying here from lust.

Posted

No, 'twas made as a full convertible with power hood. Sold mainly in the US, the factory was bombed before they hit the UK, this was the demo RHD model..

Posted

Blimey, so it must be a one of the only ones in the UK then, It can't have been very good in a roll over without a bar though, I'm surprised it passed any kind of NCAP tests.

Posted

Not sure, it was to hit the market at he height of the Escort convertible when they were £18 grand, these would have been £9000.

Posted

I think it was the RAF who flattened the factory, so it's the Crabs' fault we never got these cars! :o

This Yugo is illustrated in Giles Chapman's book 'The Worst Cars Ever Sold in Britain' on page 145
