Tonight I bought this.

2owners from new and a local car all it's days.

The last owner a local retired butcher has had it since 92 and used it little, it still has original dealer window sticker and tax disc holder, in 92 it had done 45000 miles, it has now done 47000 miles, but appears to have been mot,d regularly. I have a service "passport" with 12 supplying dealer stamps to 35k in 1984. My own mechanic who is now in his 60's did most of them, which is nice. Any way, it's a 1.1 deluxe or DL ? It's mot until may next year and a wee bit of tax too, and I am delighted with it.

Me too! Nice little cars and very comfy. I had the same model and spec but in baked bean orange. Well bought that man.

Wow, that is nice.

I was wondering how mine would look if it was mint... now I know ! Looks like a great buy and a marvellous way to experience the delights* of Allegro ownership !

[Anorak] For the full 'Deluxe' experience, the left mirror must be replaced with a blanking trim. [/Anorak]

Stunning, in a antique gold sort of way. Hope you have a garage. 1.1? A lot of weight to haul about, probably drives like my other halfs new shape 1 litre Agila minus the power steering.

Due to lower gearing, the 1100's performance* is not much worse than that of the 1300 !

You still get overtaken by octagenarians in electric wheelchairs, though...

Thats fantastic.

Have a annoying want for something similar at the moment.

Excellent work! My want valve is now 'stuck open' and I'm leaking desire juice from every orifice. This is such a good colour combo and it looks like a proper good'un. Get that gas pumped up properly to restore full bouncyness ASAP.

Hey, our 1300 is really nippy! I saw hugely illegal speeds in it on a private stretch of road and it didn't give any signs of being unhappy. It'll slog all day at 70 with enough 'in reserve' for stylish overtaking moves etc

I had a quick bimble about in a 1500 the other day and have now decided this is the way forward, however....

I would be tempted by any 1970s Allegro in 1300 and up flavour - preferably Sandglow or Limeflower with brown insides, quartic wheel and slatty grille a bonus. I will pay TOP DOLLAR up to about £400 for a solid, T+Td example of the above. Keep your eyes peeled please folks, this thread has just pushed me over the edge

Lovely, just as others have said.

I need an Allegro Estate in my life at some point.

It seems your one has the mega-rare and valuable Australian engine.

I desperately want an Allegro or Marina. Are they reliable? I guess the ones that are still on the road must've long since ironed out any gremlins.

How fit is this?

In two door as well!

Something to aspire to, Sigmund!

Never again !!!

Well... Actually... I'm not someone that learns from their mistakes, and a manual Vanden Plas 1750 would be a pretty stylish way to travel...

All estates were two (well, technically three) door. They're amazing. Not quite as amazing as this Deluxe bad boy though. Nice buy!

that reallly is a baby shit coloured delight, you are a lucky man

Thats a nice ride,I must confess to lusting after a 5 speed 2 door ar better still an estate for a while now...

Looks nice a mate of mine has an esate he keeps thtreatening to sell, i keep having to tell mesel no dont do it enough projects!. I could be tempeted with an early or late Aggro, I did drive both of me mates i felt like Mr Magoo but apart form that they both drove really well. Marinas and Aggros are reliable long as you dont run them into the ground and do a little tlc every now and again.

The last owner a local retired butcher

That's a phrase you don't often come across in car ads, retired doctor always, retired solicitor sometimes, retired headmaster sounding desperate but retired butcher no.  Just imagine this on an ebay ad "the last owner was a butcher he only used the car to carry blood stained dismembered animal corpses, in fact there’s still a pigs head on the backseat"

(The car looks a good'un nice buy)
