1947 MC TC

1938 Chrsyler Wimbledon, or something of that kind.  One of the really big ones

1931 Bentley 8 litre, 4 seater soft top

1931 Invicta S with the 4 1/2 litre engine.  Underslung chassis are for winners

1990 Panther Solo

1956 Jensen 541

1958 Peerless GT.  I had to sell the one I owned due to threatening redundancy and would love to have another.

I need a lottery win, and needs to be a fucking massive one.

Talbot Tagoras are quite common, its the Samba S that will be difficult.

I wanted a diesel until I heard the sound of the V6! But in all honesty it will probably be the 2.2 that I end up with, and this is a car where I have no preference in colour either so it's actually quite exciting wondering what I will end up with.

95% certain it will be LHD as I will be budgeting around £1000 for the car and £500 for the "holiday to France".. unless something RHD turns up cheap but I doubt that. The last cheap RHD Tagora got squashed and I still don't think we can talk about that.... not enough time has passed.

Oh and I love the SX's alloy wheels that's the only other problem.

i was gunna say, in france there common but here in the uk, the ones left are on a sorn

For me, it would have to be, realistically....

C-reg Rover Sterling or 825i

Rover 827/825 Coupe

Early Rover 827 Sterling

Rover 75 Connoisseur KV6

Rover 75 V8 (Not sure this is very realistic though)

Series 3 Daimler Double-Six or equivalent Jaguar

Range Rover (classic) Vogue SE

W140 Mercedes S-class

Lexus LS400

BMW E34 5-series and E32 7-series

Porsche 911 of some sort

Maybe chuck in a Vauxhall Senator and a Ford Scorpio

W124 isn't an S-Class Mr Sterling...

Lists are dull so I'll pick one vehicle that I REALLY must own. A Rover SD1 V8. Not fussed about the Twin Plenum bollox, but I do prefer the facelifted ones. A Vanden Plas Efi would be quite dreamy I think.

Austin A90 Westminster

Austin A70 Hampshire

Austin A40 Somerset

Austin A30

Austin A35 van (can you see a theme developing here?)

Citroen 2cv of some description.

Jensen 541

Austin 8/10/12/16

Standard Atlas panel van

Triumph Mayflower

Series 1 Rover SD1, preferably yellow with a Nutmeg interior.

Montego VDP, preferably in gold with a brown leather interior.

Bedford Bambi camper

Forget them... or double your budget. Metric TRX new fresh tyres cost £275.00 each! First thing i did on my SX was to change to the 14" GLS steel wheels. The TRX tyres had still good profile but wont risk my life driving 200km/h on 30 year old rubber.

Do get a SX, with a bit of patience you can find one, the engine is absolutely amazing and pure fun.

By the way, no lack of Tagoras in F, watch this:

I've heard about the tyres, infact everybody I have spoken to has said DO NOT think about running a Tagora as a daily... well I'm going to (try)... I did the Polonez experience last year :)

Hey forgive my ignorance but cant you just stick a slightly different profile tyre on? oooh i just had a brain wave...... I'll shut up I think I understand. So what size diameter are the SX alloys then?

Oh I really want those wheels..........

I still think I diesel would make a good buy as I don't own a diesel yet so 2 birds - one wod of cash.

2 birds - one wod of cash.

From my experience, one bird is more than enough to use up a sizeable wad of cash.

To my amazement I've owned several of the cars that other people have nominated!  However I do still have a bit of a list, much of which will probably never happen (but who can tell...)

Bentley, preferably a Chinese Eye S3

Aston Martin, preferably a V8 Volante auto in red or white

Jensen Interceptor

Vauxhall Victor FD estate, preferably 3300 automatic

Ford Mustang, 67-73 probably

Humber Super Snipe, about 1964 and if possible, the estate

Austin Westminster A99 or A110, or the equivalent Wolseley or VDP

Ford Zephyr or Zodiac mk3, must be  6-pot and auto, estate would be nice

Citroen DS

Chaika

Volga

Triumph 2000/2500 or Stag

Daimler Majestic Major

In most cases I'd be very happy just to get a drive of the model, even just an hour or so.  I doubt I could afford ownership of any of the above!  Also, there are cars I've owned before that I'd like to repeat, such as Vauxhall PA, MG Maestro 2.0, Volvo 240/740, Cadillac.............

I think there must be at least ten Talbot Tagoras between us Autoshiters.. of the top of my Head boobydoo has 3?

Some chap bought the one with the rusty roof from ebay and STILL hast sorted us out with some pictures!!!!!!!!

And there is 2 other guys with off the road projects,

then the chap in Germany who I was just talking with has a few?

Did I miss any?

I do run a GLS as a daily and and the SX for long distances, great solid cars never failed on me. Actually, they are 504's with a different body and a better engine, if that aint solid...

Keep your Polonez outside mirrors, they fit the Tagora and most cetainly the one you buy will lack a functional mirror.

So what size diameter are the SX alloys then?

365mm. Talbot fitted 210/65R/365, size Michelin stopped making these 25 years ago. You can put 220/55R365 these are the only ones they still make in this diameter.

No,no,no! You dont want a diesel, they are horrible to drive unless you run it as a Taxi. Turbo kicks in after what feels like an hour and until it happens you have maybe 20PS at your shoetips.

You want this!

This kind of varies but right now I'd say a late 70's Jag XJ6 or Daimler in a horrible BL colour.
I saw a totally rotten white one with a red leather interior on Scrapheap Challenge once. It was amazing.

Thumbs up indeed! Pure porn that.

ooh a turbocharged Tagora... the diesel is sounding more and more better.

I guess a set of 4 spoke SX alloys sans tyres would be fairly cheap to buy for it then?

How about Montego tyres?

180 65 R365?
