Large items Shiteleyesque favour asked please....

This is a big ask, but here goes. I bought a set of tyres off drum, the bloke on here that's just bought that delicious Allegro. I was a bit late in getting them transported down the other night, as I didn't manage to respond in time to a request on another forum. Is there anyone that passes his area (Dundee-ish I think) in a larger than average vehicle that might be able to bring them down South please? They're a set of 5 Michelin 9.00x16 studded off road tyres. They're about 35"x9.5", part worn, and weigh about 30-35kg a piece. Were I able to get to him myself, it wouldn't be an issue, but my motor has rather a sick engine, and it's not going to make it all that way.. (And it does about 18mpg..... diesel!) Anyone feel like being nice to me? It is my Birthday soon.....!

I take it this means "Piss off" then? 100 odd views.... not a fucking whisper.

Sorry, but I think you'll be lucky finding somebody heading down from Dundee with enough space for 5 LR tyres.

I go up to Scotland with work every now and again but present I've not currently got a Scottish trip on my schedule, and if I did I could probably only fit 2 in the car; so no help from me.

I feel obliged to report that I'm not that far north (not even in Scotland, in fact) - sorry.

I'd love to help, sadly I could buy my own Landis with the fuel I'd use getting up there and back, especially since I'm in bucks.

Glwc anyway!

I'm sure that most, like me thought "I wonder if I can help?........oh."

Would you be more pissed off with 100 "Sorry mate" replies?

That's the fucking spirit! I was wondering if this thing was on! I didn't expect any response of a positive sort, but I did expect a few "Fuck me that's a big ask" or "Get fucked you tight arsed Yorkshire twat" kind of thing.....

I know someone who lives near Aberdeen - but she doesn't drive.  Sorry m8.

I'd do it, but it's a 15 hour and nigh on 800 miles round trip. Plus I'm twat.

Could you not get the seller to drop them off at his local MEGABUS depot and buy them a seat each for £1.50 (plus 50p booking fee) and then you simply collect them at your local coach depot?

Stick em in the luggage rack of a train, pick em up at your local station. It will only work if theres no changes though.

Don't you need injections to go to Scotland, probably heroin and tetanus?

Love the megabus idea. Just imagine getting on the bus at the destination to collect them. Make sure to wear your jumper back to front and walk a bit funny while collecting. “Come on lads lets go home! You’ve had a lovely day out today haven’t you! Bet you’re tired though - lets all go home and I’ll make us some fishfinger sandwichesâ€Â

Bet you wouldn’t get any grief off the driver.

Wat, they're about 3 feet diameter, just under a foot wide each. There's 5 of them, and they're studded Michelin knobblies.... (ooer missus) and they weigh around 30kg a piece or possibly more. If you could bring them a little closer, it would help, if not, I fully understand, as it was a sort of "toe in the water/tongue in cheek" style askee, I reckon they would "just" fit in a large estate car, seats folded etc.... but they won't be kind to interior trim. It's the top one on this stack, and the one leaned up in the foreground, and two more identical to these, and a rough spare. No wheels, so lighter than normal LR wheels and tyres, but bear in mind they're for a 16" rim, and that's a lot of rubber. If you say no after this, fair one like....!! If you say yes, there may be beer in it for you as well as diesel funds.

They've been in use with a logging firm I think. I don't care. They're Michelin, they're legal, they're the right price. Yeah, they're 300 odd miles from here, but meh. 9.00s are like rocking horse shit.

I'm going up to Aberdeen to get an interior for my 460.

YOU MAD BASTARD.

If anyone can take even one or two down the road it would make it easier to get the rest down. I'm heading off to France in July and could attempt to strap one, maybe two to the roof of the car.

As luck would  have it I've just been messaged by work. They need me to do some work in Edinburgh soon, and I might be be able to make a diversion to Dundee,

I'll likely be heading up in the VW bora, how many do you reckon I'd get in the back? The boot is full of work stuff, but the back seat empty, I can leave the back seat at home, so that won't get damaged and will give a bit more space.

I'm not promising anything at the monet.

You might get one in.... maybe none at all. ut I do appreciate the kind offers so far. have just been advised to be hopeful, as a member on another forum has been given a few "North of the Border" runs in his truck, and at least one covers the area these tyres are in. It's a big truck so space isn't an issue! He can get them into England easily so a 200 mile round trip to collect them is not a great problem to me. Certainly better than 700.

See above old bean... plans are afoot to transfer them into his wagon late tonight, and they should be in Cumbria by the weekend.... I shall try to "track" them, and let you know if you are required.... this all happened really quickly last night. All without my knowledge... I just got informed that it might happen, possibly! YAY! But thanks for the offer anyhoo.... I owe you one.
