My 1988 Bluebird for sale - SOLD

Is this the 1.6 or 1.8?

As you know, I'd only have this if it were a direct swap for my Cavalier though.

I really could do with something like this in my life right now BUT when I'm bored with it I know I'd end up listing it on Ovalchat for a hassle free sale. I'm best out.

It could take 4 years to get bored with it, used it this morning and still brings a smile to my face to drive it.

It's a 1.6 but I thought your Cav was sold and I bought a red one on sunday. :(

sorry no i really do think it looks really clean, was just pissed that because i asked about colour/mileage somebody thought i was being choosy. Theres cars 10 years old with a lot more rust.

So, are you interested in it then nisfan?

What's the world coming too when you can't even shift a bloody clean car for £250, people moan when good cars get scrapped but it's no wonder when people get fucked about.

Mine Bluebird was a genuinely great car in excellent condition. Got zero interest and ended up selling it for £300.

Apologies for ginger content.

well I was here all day yesterday.

I really need to get it off the drive as I have to keep shunting cars backwards and forwards. Looks like I will have to give the blue forum a try.

I think what nisfan meant to say was the earliest possible day he could do it was next Thursday as I'll be driving his car back from wherever the car is and that's the earliest day i can do. He's not trying to fuck you about, i suggested we go earlier but it's not looking possible for us until Thursday.

Just had a PM from nisfan saying he has found one in the same condition and the same price closer to home  so this is still for sale.

I really don't want to scrap this car, it is far too good for that but I've been offered nearly £200 scrap and I can keep the battery/stereo/wheel trims and any other useful bits so please save it from certain death and make me a decent offer.

This is a great useable every day car...can't believe it is still sat on the drive.

You should just swap it for some classic racer cycles or something. They take up less room etc.

Shit! I thought this was a done deal! I would of punted you an offer...

Now I own a Migrane Scenic and really can't stretch to buying another car this week.

sure you can!

I would if I could.

Lob it on all the north west versions of Gumtree. Should sell easily.

Tragic isn't it? I've also had the trauma of trying to sell one. Cheap motoring for the chap who won it! A lesson to me to be more choosy about what I buy (which I ignored totally by buying a thirsty Mercedes).

Bloody fab cars, I had a D reg 1.8 GLX auto (D577 DLA) and it was the comfiest car I have ever driven. Cool adjustable rear seats too. Tried to sell it but no bugger wanted it and punted it out at BCA in Enfield as the auto box was being a bit 'problematic'.

It is annoying, I can't let it go for much less as I will get more for scrapping it which is plain daft.

I'm 99.9999% sure it would easily provide another 4 years motoring on a shoestring budget too, probably more so than the Cavalier will but as soon as my mrs drove the Cav with power steering that was it.

Ebay with a £250 start and see if you get any bites?

Posted

Can't be bothered with ebay mongs.. I'd rather just take the things off I want to keep and run it around to the scrappy near here. It's on RR now so may get some interest there.

GLWTS and all that.

Given that you're only selling it because you fancy a change (which is fair enough), wouldn't you hang on to it for a while longer rather than scrap it? Seems a shame. Up to you, obviously - just sayin' like.

That's the problem, already bought another car to replace it. :) Now got 4 cars on a 3 car driveway.. :(

Posted

Aha - sorry fella, I'd missed that bit of the story. I get it now.

That's my problem too, otherwise I might have been able to help out (or more likely to have relieved Mr Wobbler of his Mercedes).

o.k folks, is no one interested in this even at £250 to drive away? (plus the tax :) ) If I can't get that for it the crusher awaits after I have used up the fuel and nicked any useful bits off it.

Posted

FFS, you cannae crush this!! If you get to that stage let me know....

Posted

Due to lack of immediate funds, I've had to give back word on my interest...........but, PLEASE, someone buy it, cos it's far too good to be razor blades.

I can't believe no Shiter has stepped up to grab this, it's a perfect tool for almost any of us. It would be a brilliant companion to my Cherry, if I could justify a third car; I could even afford it. But even using man-maths I can't make it make sense unfortunately. I really hope you can find it a good home.
