Arley Hall (Cholmondeley) : A shitists dream.

What happens when you can't book a particular venue for an established car show? You obviously hammer a slightly different sized venue over the top of it!

I always look forward to Cholmondeley Castle show, for the last 6 or so years it has been THE start to my show season, always an impressive (and year on year growing) turnout by us Autsoshite/HBF/AutoExcretia types, and an equally impressive selection throughout the show.

So I took the news that the show wasn't to be held at Cholmondeley with some trepidation, however, my fears melted away as we arrived and saw the grounds, it really is a pretty darn perfect venue for this sort of gig. I would go so far as to say, if they decide to keep it at Arley I'd be quite chuffed....

Anyway, I get ahead of myself, let me make with the pictures.

Spotted on the M6 about 5miles north of Lymm, I sensed we were growing close....

DSCF0731_zpscf95ff08.jpg

We arrived at Lymm in the Oxford in plenty of time as we did without the usual getting lost drama. At first I assumed the smattering of extreamly tidy Fords were with us, I should've known better.

So after the tidy Fords upped an left, I took a cheeky shot of the Oxford and set about capturing our little lot.

After a brew and a natter it was time to trundle the 5 or so miles to Arley Hall itself (abit easier to stay together than the 40minutes we usually travel to Cholmondeley)

Excellent report, and fills in a few of the non-shite blanks rather smartly. Seeing that Viva in action is the icing on the cake, it looks like it's escaped from a film set or some equally preposterous notion when you see it out on the road.

Excellent write up there. Made me realise how much I actually missed when walking about...

loved the authentic misted up windows on the ratty viva :P proper authentic misery that, love it.

Also amused by the optional fit ford equaliser, cant use your phone even hands free without generating government revenue but it is ok to finetune them choons while on the move, probably

Shame you did not get a shot of Volksy's disapproving look as I raced past you on the M6. Got told off for my 'Italian Tune Up' a couple of times on the way back...(I did make it get a little warm by doing 90 mph up the hill to J22 on the M62 :oops: ).
