Bit of a giggle on a 125 isnt it

Wouldn't know. It was a H100SD! :P

(Cheaper insurance paying for up to 100cc, than going up to the 225cc band ;))

Bit of a giggle on a 125 isnt it - generally OK till you hit thw downdraft off the cab, then its like hitting a brick wall :-D

My RD125LC was ok ish but by that point all the restrictions had been long since removed. I wouldn't try it on a CG125.

Picking my bike up tomorrow. Starting to get quite nervous now....

Couple of hours train to the seller, then 100 or so miles back.

Weighing up whether to come back on the motorways (M23 / M25 / M3 or M4) at around 2 hours time, or stick to A roads at around 2hrs 30 mins.

A roads are winning at the moment, largely because I don't fancy hitting the M25 in Friday rush hour.

Thoughts? :)

I've plotted your route for you. Bikers loft should be a soft intro with beer, food, accommodation and bike museum. We usually go by moped.

I don't think I've cracked half throttle yet lol

Try full throttle at about 3/4s revs...

As my 14 has been running rough lately and not feeling right in corners I did a few bits today.

Rebuilt the front brakes, thee stuck pistons explains the cornering.

Cleaned & gapped the plugs, not impresssed with iridium as normal plugs never needed this.

Balanced the throttles.

Bathed it.

I know photos can lie, but that looks good for the mileage Hooli. Ideally needs the headers cleaned (Harpic?), but overall hides the miles well.

Clean the headers? I scrub the mud with a sponge that's it. Probably helps it's a full Akra titanium system on there.

It's tatty but it's mostly lived outside and I'm used to it. I've never been one for shiney showroom fresh stuff, that just means it's not been used enough.

Do people ever stop telling you "cor you're going to kill yourself on that!"?

Try giving then a 50 yard stare and answering "Only if it's my day to die"

My fireblade is 15 years old and has 11,000 miles and I dont use it much to keep it mint. Whats the point in that? With my mistake in buying a nice condition bike noted, my DL1000 was less than perfect when I bought it, just so I wouldn't get too precious. Used it more in the last year than the blade in the last 5 years.

I'd like to ride my bikes whenever I can, but apart from commuting to work and my two annual holidays, I don't have much time to. Retiring in the not to distant future when I will sell those I use to commute on,  and be able to ride those that have done just the MOT station and back for the last couple of years.

The important question is who is more annoying? Them or the ones who say 'I'd get a bike but I'd kill myself'.

A friend of mine, had a brother in law that said something similar.. He said, "I'd love a bike but aint got the fucking brains for it, I'd kill my bloody self"

He was absolutely correct, decapitated himself on a roundabout, a couple of years later after buying a bike!

That was careless

Yeah it was a bit of a bad one....I'm led to believe he lost control and his neck/head area hit a pole of some description.

So do you reckon you will be improving on the 6 days it took your CG to be too slow?

Couple of weeks this time? :)

PS, my mum still feels the need to tell me that occasionally, randomers less so.

They are so irritating. You haven’t killed yourself in your car have you? The throttle works both ways you buffoon!

Quirky looks aside, are they much cop? Reviews seem good but I'm not sure about that telelever front end....

They are great and the telelever front end is different and a bit remote, they can throw big bills at you which has put me off them but I'd definitely have one I think.

When they had drag racing at North Weald (now banned) a bloke ran one of these. Always ahead at the 100 yard mark, no matter what he was running against,  including turbo'd Hyabusa's.  I think their only weak spot is the clutch basket, often replaced with a "Barnets" basket, or your own basket strengthened, extremely well by all accounts,  by a bloke in his shed in Yorkshire.

Still a bit quirky looking, but none the worse for that.

382miles around the Lakes yesterday was rather fun. Bonus on the way back was 10 or so miles playing with a new McClaren. My bike is very slightly quicker to 100 as proved 7 or 8 times rolling on from 30-40ish.
