Hi all, bit off topic I know, but what's the best free photo hosting site. I only ask as the Mrs works in a bingo hall and the car park is always full of chod like Toyota Camrys, etc. and I'd like to share them with you all.

I would recommend photobucket, free and fairly simple to use.

I'd advise against Photobucket. It's slow and lardy, and is gradually turning into a 'social networking' site with photos. I couldn't even navigate through it horrible features to find my photos, it's crap!

The best one around is www.imgur.com, purely for simplicity, you don't even have to log in to upload photos.

Another vote for imgur. You can create an account if you want to keep track of your pictures, but it's optional.

I used to use Photobilge and still do for eBay (only because I have not worked out where to fnd tags on Flickr yet) but agree it is trning to crap.

These days I either use Facebook or Flickr for photo hosting depending on what it is and whether I want it to be public or not.

My Flikr auto chod stream is linked in my siggy

Picasa for me, the free accounts 2gb I think, but I pay a fiver a year for 20gb. No bandwidth issues ever!

I can't stand Photobucket, it never seems to work for me, I've been using Flickr now for 4 years and have no problems with it, it's like a little online community as well.

Another +1 for Imgur here. :D

I've never liked photofukkit.

Great for quick uploads from the web or your machine without faffing around signing up/signing in. Has a handy resize feature for a nice forum-friendly 640x480 resolution, and you can get a full featured account just by signing up with an email address. (which they don't seem to spam you on either in my experience)

Forgive me for being a tube but how does flicker work

is it just like photobucket but with the added bonus people can slag of your pics? how many pics can one person store on it?

I started using Photobucket when i signed up here in 2008 but its un-navigable now that I have several hundered photos on it. When I search my own album page by page I used to know where a photo would probably be. For example a Vauxhall Victor would be at about page 30 something as thats around 2010 when i went to Billing.

Now the site seems to randomly shuffle my photos and this, together with the fact that its become slow means I have changed to Flickr. It seems to be particularly popular with bus enthusiasts so I've been uploading my Bus Shite to there for a bit now. I love it and its great if you want to search for pictures of a particular item. There's some useful info in the comments section too. Quite a few mystery buses have been identified in my stream, and someone always posts a photo of the vehicle as it was then or is now!

I have a pro account as I have a BT e-mail address, I didnt know you had to pay otherwise?

Photobucket or Flickr for me.

Agree about Photobucket mucking about, but I have few problems as I store them in folders.

Photobucket seems to be unlimited where as Flickr isn't, unless you upgrade to pro.

Have tried others, but things like spam put me off them.

Photobucket is what I use but only because of inertia - every "upgrade" that they do makes it harder and slower to use. If starting from scratch, a lot of people seem to like imageshack.

photobucket also requires you to log in occasionally in order to keep links live.

-1, sadly.

It's gone to shit with the latest version, far too fiddly/awkward to use now. Shame because it has been brilliant.

OK, if you use the old version.
