dollywobbler Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Guess we can officially start the wintery shots then. Only one rule - photo must be taken this winter. Wonder how long until we get shite in snow...
nigel bickle Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 How very depressing . Thankfully I didnt get up early enough for such pics... Did get one of my old m/cycles out yesterday though. Ace timing!
dollywobbler Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 I took those pics at about 9am! Still below zero here.
fotorabia Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Ha..42C here....air con on the Merc is non existant...and all the windows open dont help either,,,but ice coffees and litres of lime n bitters does...keep warm gents...
M'coli Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Snow on shite? Already done that on October the 26th!
beko1987 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Buggar didn't see this at half 5! Jumped in, heaters on, rolly smoked wipers wiped and drove to work! Will remember to get a pic tomorrow!
ashmicro Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 It won't snow here at all. Every time I've owned a 4WD/AWD vehicle, no snow where I live.
lovejoy Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Ten foot snowdrifts here in "paradise", Nigel (smirk smirk ) big job to get the Fiat 900 snowmobile started, had to use neat rum, again...
trigger Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Wow! That is mental! did you build it Lovejoy?
scruff Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 That is the coolest thing I have seen on here for ages, in more ways than one! Awesome
nigel bickle Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 No, Lovejoy (Chris) is taking the piss out of me, because hes sitting in the sun, down in the Caribbean, drinking rum till next Spring/Summer. His lil Fiat camper will be safely locked up someplace down in Cornwall. Git.
willswitchengage Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 This is a (sorry if it's massive) phacebook icture from my last weekend... it's still summer darn sarf.
Wilko220 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Some good contenders for winter months' calendar pictures already...
Shep Shepherd Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Took this one of the Volvo at work almost exactly a month ago, October 28th to be exact: It can get pretty cold in West Thurrock in early autumn.
KruJoe Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 The night of the first of November this year, we came home to this: MrsKJ and I had been over to Settle with the folks that evening for a show. On the way home, we were caught out on Kirkby Fell, my mother was driving, in the wet snow she slithered down a steep bit and bounced off a highland cow. Result: The cow didn't feel it (much). Lucky it was there really, it saved us from hitting the stone post by the cattle-grid!Despite being double-skinned, I've popped the worst of that out of the bonnet, and fitted her snow tyres the next day. So, 1st Nov 2012. And I claim my five pounds.
beko1987 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Came out to this at 10 past 6... Really need to get the rear demist fixed! My equally nutty colleague's van (Nissan 1.5Dci - worthy of shite in itself) said -2 at quarter to 7.
whitevanman Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Sorry, but -2 is hardly cold......could possible be described as pleasantly cool Tayne hows Sunny Aberdeen??
beko1987 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Hoonerage in the snow this morning when I left: 11 fun miles later in Marlow... Just a shite rainy day here now! I'm waiting for the office twunt to arrive in his semi 4wd Kuga, who has to drive up the M40 past my house, and start moaning...
Shep Shepherd Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Took these photos at 0900 today: Just enough snowfall to make it difficult for the south Essex roadtards during the morning rush.
beko1987 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Ah - I leave at 6ish, so not many fucktards on the road. Apart from one this morning. De-wipered fiesta, snow all over it back window not cleared doing 5mph and still braking. Piss was boiled until he turned off and I could carry on at a perfectly safe 35/40. Apparently the M40 is stuffed now though, people are arriving late.

I'm not at work today, but when I'm working the day shift, I arrive long before the majority of sheeple and roadtards have even woken up I imagine that the roads I use to get to/from work, the A13 and A127 are pretty bad traffic-wise by now... EDIT: I was right: http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/local_n ... n_on_roads

EDIT: I was right: http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/local_n ... n_on_roads You're not wrong. This morning it took 40 minutes to get from North Shoebury Road to Thorpe Hall Avenue (about 1 1/2 miles). Two inches of snow at the most, but Southend was gridlocked because idiots who haven't got a clue how to drive in the snow kept crashing their cars. The A127 looked awful as well, but I managed to avoid it. I passed four cars in ditches, three along the same stretch of country road. KA, Scenic, BINI and a 406 estate if anyone's interested.

I really despair at the drivers in our area I've not driven anywhere today, and have no intention of driving anywhere until Friday evening; when I walked to the Tesco Express at the Kursaal at midday, almost all of the snow had melted.
beko1987 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 No reports of total chaos this morning, and I saw no abandoned wrecks at the side of the road. Still some snow on one of my shots, Amy and Eva walked to baby club. I`ve just moved it so it doesn't get arse ended. No snow on mine after being parked in the sun for 7 hours
RoadworkUK Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Yep, We had An Amount of snow, the kind of amount that makes you slightly late for work. Here it is at 07:40 this morning; Here's t'other half on her way to work (having de-iced her car while I watch from inside a warm house in my dressing gown); The sum total of pain-in-the-arseness experienced by me today was that the man who was supposed to be delivering my kitchen tiles apparently couldn't leave the depot. Anyone know about a white-out in Witham? I suspect bollocks. Yesterday the local untreated roads were absolutely treacherous with black ice. My ABS was going brrrrr almost constantly. As was I 'cos of my roll-a-six-to-start heater fan.
Black_GT Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 No snow here yet, but a very heavy frost on Sunday gave an interesting effect!
andrew e Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 For Essex based shitters I had snow on the roof of my Astra still when I got to Slough at 18:30, my garden apprently is still snow covered. Bearing in mind I'm at the M25/A12 end, probally half hour from SOS or Witham. So OMGSNOCHOAS might be true.
whitevanman Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I forget sometimes how hard life is down south...I spent 4 years there and and still I forget guys it's only frozen water......not the apocalypse ....
