If you saw the BBC2 doc The 70s, you may have seen this. If you did, and you know what the car is, save it for a moment...

Any guesses? (the colour may be a dead giveaway).

The black bits round the side windows should be a clue but have left me more confused!

Pretty sure I know what it is, and it ain't a Volvo.......

Bet it was to hack off the BL workers.

 I was thinking it was strange she didn't use a British car! I was browsing photos of BL, Ford and Talbot cars of the period, closest I got was the MK1 SD1, but the ariel position flummoxed me.

Stop striking and be more like the French!

I would have to, wouldnt I?

Is she not a bit old for you?

Lol, nah I meant finding a clip of Rover 800s

Yes..... to confirm Renault 14! Who would have thought the old conservatives would have even bothered with a French car especially like the 14? What next next Labour supporting Chrysler Lib Dems wanting support from a Saab?

The Greens campaigning for the next General Election in a Range Rover?

It would make sense for a Conservative supporter to be driving something non- British Leyland though wouldn't it?

I mean, British Leyland be nationalised and all by the Labour Party?

It gets worese Renault were (are?) owned by the French government. Surely an armour plated Mercedes would have been more appropiate?

She may have campaigned in a renault but was carried into number 10 in one of the ageing P5bs that were part of the government fleet. Perhaps inaccurate, but in the recent film, she taught her daughter to drive in the family car- a landcrab I seem to remember
