AndyW201
This week's delivery. Hmm, quite a big box for a 1/43 model. Now remember, "mustn't buy any more GM tat, mustn't buy any more GM tat..." Bollocks! Nice posh box though. Must be something classy inside... Oh. Not sure what we have here then, it seems it was a promotional pack given to Vauxhall dealers circa 2005 to mark the launch of the Astra H (Mk5), and the Vauxhall CDTi/Saab TiD diesel engines. Seems an age away now, when high performance diesel engines were being heralded as the future. So, to the model. It's a good one, made by Minichamps. Slowly but surely I'm making my way through all the Astras and this fills a Mk5 shaped gap. I wanted this particular one, as this edition, with the presentation case is the only Minichamps version I've seen so far in RHD, and badged and packaged as a Vauxhall. No model designation on it, but the alloys, rear spoiler and exhaust trim point to an SRi. 1.9 CDTi obvs... So, as you'd expect from a Minichamps model, it's well made, accurate and nicely detailed. Vanguards also did a pretty good Mk5 5 door, but this one has the edge. One detail that lifts it over the Vanguards version is the panoramic roof. Typically for a Minichamps model, the fragile roof aerial was a bit mangled but I managed to straighten it. Even has a Sat Nav screen on the dash! andrew e, bunglebus, Split_Pin and 4 others
bunglebus
I was out and about today and visited Asda, Entertainer, Poundland, B+M, QD, Home Bargains and Tesco. All had Hot Wheels, none had anything new. Good job I had a @Datsuncogdelivery on the step when I got home! This Corgi is a little bit of a mystery, being Mothercare branded but with a Domino's Toy Shop price sticker, but it has been opened so may not be a matching pair I seem to have started getting a small hoard of Tonkas, this van is one of the smaller efforts, but unusually has a moving part I've had this one before but it went on to pastures new. Don't know if it's a Tonka or not and the base is pretty crusty I also have one of these that I repainted but not with the ridiculous Carlos Fandango wheels. If it wasn't so rusty I'd leave it alone but the paint stripper beckons I think Majorette must be the only company that modelled the E30 with extra fire exits Tidy metal base DS This is a proper weirdo. Seen a handful of Matchbox copies, but this only gets the decals right and the casting wrong. Love it! Dinky Duplo split is tiny! ISO Grifo is a Super GT with glow in the dark bits And it works A couple of commercials, Stake Truck with all its stakes And this Dumper Truck - I kinda dropped a bollock here thinking it was a Superking, so now I have two... This is the prize though, I have to admit I didn't know about the Corgi Chrysler Imperial before DC posted a pic of it the other day, but it's a really lovely thing. Amazing that the side windows, folding seats etc have survived intact It should have door cards, a driver and passenger plus a set of golf bats in the boot, but still... warch, morrisoxide, andrew e and 3 others

Dealer items that really are exclusive to that trade are quite rare. Great find. I've got a Vanguards Astra H and a 1/18 Welly one but the Minichamps is a new one on me. ProgRocker
My quest to declutter continues. This model tractor in a slightly worn down box, built in West Germany in 1988 was found at my late parents' house. I never knew anything about this, it was just sitting in their wardrobe. Didn't think it would be worth much, so I whacked it onto eBay last week for the starting price of £1.00. Sold for £78! junkyarddog
Picked up this Lone Star Lotus yesterday, date on the box says 1976,so not the greatest of era's for the brand. Still,it is a nice find, the vendor also had boxed Lone star trucks, but they were of the generic variety, so left them. What's the story with the Supervan, don't remember that version Sonic Flashers I think they called them, you pressed down and it had a siren and the lights flashed. They did various ones as a Merc 500 SEL and the Sierra XR4i. I’ve got a few, none still work needless to say. Burnside
Split_Pin
Not to be confused with Corgi 'Alarm Flashers' which were 1/43 scale and made the loudest noise known to man. The blister pack instructed you to squeeze the rear wheels together to activate the siren but you just pushed it down. Mine was a Porsche 911 Convertible which, impossible in real life, had 2 beacons poking through the hood. Burnside

Germany. I assume that despite its clean condition, it predates David Hasselhoff singing on a wall in Berlin. The Carlos Fandango wheel set might look daft but the sprung motor inside is very strong and it needs the extra traction to get off the line. In fact, despite a rubber insert in the rear wheels, it spins them, lunges forward at great lick, flies off the desk and clouts the wall. The wife was elated. The quality of the engineering, paint and decals is very good. Is it rare? Is it valuable? Any more DARDA in the AS fold? I might have found my new thing. In a fit of 'need-money clear-out' last year, this Darda sold for only £3. I expected a run on it... Bewildered and gutted.

bunglebus
I gained this three wheelin' Dinky Gran Fury a while back, and it's tested my patience getting it finished I like the original wheels but the stance was all wrong, so the axles got narrowed and I had to chop out various bits of the base, body and interior to get it sitting right Followed by lots of filing and sanding to get rid of casting marks - realised here the gutters were awful I think this is where it started to become really trying, I wasn't sure what colour to do it and found a metallic green I thought would work, but it was too dark. So then I two-toned it with pearl silver. I also decided I would try and mask up and spray all the details such as lights and bumpers. This takes FOREVER. There were four different silvers used in the end. I also wasn't convinced the red interior would look right against the exterior colours, but once all the details were done I actually like it. I could have painted that too but I really like red interiors. The aerial was also a PITA as this version came without one but the hole is still there and wouldn't have been easy to fill. Attaching the dressmaker's pin without interfering with the tyres at this ride height took some head scratching... ...anyway, here it is The only things I haven't attempted are painting in the PLYMOUTH lettering and the front sidelights, as I'll probably cock it up and have a tantrum eddyramrod, Datsuncog, Remspoor and 19 others

sierraman
I’ve often looked at flipping (even though I fucking hate that phrase...) a few on eBay but once you’ve deducted the fees you end up with a profit of about 50p so it’s hardly worth the hassle. Likewise I had a Britains Farm, the postage due to the size would be insane, knock ebays take and I might as well drop it off down the charity shop. It’s only one of those cheaper vacuum moulded farmyard type things. Burnside and Split_Pin

So I decided to treat myself with some 1:43 Diecast chod. First purchase was this workshop lift made by GMP. Detail is really nice overall and the ramp height is also adjustable, as are the legs. Although the height adjusters feel a bit flimsy, so I'll try not to mess with them too much. Came with the oil drainer and oil tray. Although I didn't even realize that the reel was adjustable, until I saw pics online. Which is a nice touch. Fitting the ramp to the base with the tiny screws though was a pita, so I'll be leaving it assembled permanently! Had my Schabak Golf to hand too, so here it is receiving a miniature service. Also while looking online, I'd spotted a minichamps MK3 Escort. Wanted one for ages, so was pleased to get this at a reasonable price. The details are great and I especially love the wheels. As they were my favourite ford steel wheel of the day. Paint is slightly flawed but not enough to upset me. The other purchase is a Norev Fiat Panda. I couldn't resist it in the cocktail blue, as it's one of my favourite Panda colours. Interestingly they have chosen to base it on the 1.3 multijet model, rather than the pez fire engine models. Casting is spot on I reckon and all the painted details are neatly applied too. So really happy with them overall. where did panda come from? warch
