plastic looks hazy but I think it's mainly dirt.

Norevs, Corgi Ferarri and transporter are tempting but not enough to give them a new home

What town did you get stuck in? I have  one of those transporters here if anyone wants one.

Haven’t updated until now as been busy with capping a well off (don’t ask...)

Managed to pick up most of what I needed except the MR2 at Tesco. Don’t know if that’s not part of the batch that was in? Fiat 500, Caprice amongst others

Haddington. Nice little town thankfully, seeing as we were there from 11.30 to 18.30, finally getting a taxi back to Edinburgh for a hire car. Now en-route back to Essex, probably 3am by the time we've dropped off my boss's son on the way

My Dad picked me these up whilst looking for birthday gifts for the younger members of the family.

They also had a few Iron Mask Skylines, but my Dad knew I had that one from mainline.

£2.50 from Toytown (Is that a chain or just a local shop?)    EDIT: Chain but mainly up North.

The Bacardi LR and boat set responded well to cleaning, took several wet wipes which looked absolutely disgusting afterwards. Don't know where it had been stored but there was none of the cigarette/cigar smoke odour that often greets me when I open a delivery of old cars

Wet wipes, surgical spirit or apply dry-wipe marker then wipe it off.

I like that Maisto

Black 5-spokes off a Matchbox for T5-R looks. That's what I'll be doing when I find the yellow one.

I managed to score this playworn  majorette Peugeot 206 off eBay, for just £3 Inc postage.

I don't need it, as I already have 2 in my collection. My plan is to hopefully repaint it, as a b'day gift to my friend to replicate his current 06 206 Verve.

Handily I have the correct shade of met grey, from when I previously repainted a tailgate handle for it. Just a case of getting chance/ space to paint it now.

Pic of a similar 206 Verve.

An while I was on eBay. I also won this MB Rover Sterling. It's a replacement for my original one from childhood which is sadly mia.

Yeah I should have gone to get that one myself. It was week or two ago, but I'll keep an eye open for you.

£2.50? They were £7 in Smyths

Blimey I wouldn't have spent that on one! I bet that's why they wound up in other shops for less.

The Sterling is a great model. I remember when it first came out and how realistic I thought the glass area was. It was also an exact replica of my parent's neighbours example E538NMS.

That's come up a treat; good work!

I think my brother had a similar set, but it wasn't a promo like this - just a white LR 90 with the Seafire boat and trailer, and plain red and black stripes.

Ah, the good ol' days when you could advertise rum to kiddies...

That's lovely; for me there's just an aura about that Rover 800, it looked so good in that two-tone paint with the flush glazing.

I think mine arrived on Christmas morning to accompany a Matchbox Motor City set, so there's an additional shimmer to the memory.

One day I'll treat myself to a minty one, as I think my childhood original also disappeared...

Probably bored you all to tears with this before but I have a Laser Wheels Sterling, I can remember my grandad taking me to the paper shop where we always went for a Milkybar and a Rover 800 bring in some sort of display counter, I can remember getting it so vividly. Happily I still have it!

Seems so strange that Matchbox were sold everywhere, the only place to get Majorette seemed to be Morrisons. Even the covered market type thing had a shop that sold them in one of those big display cabinets which went 1-75. Popping in there with my mum on a Saturday was ritual. Perhaps if I had a windfall on the premium bonds it would be a trip to Beatties to get a Motorcity playset.

We used to get Majorettes at our local chemists strangely. I used to get Tonsillitis a lot until they whipped them out and one of the perks of going to get the prescription was that I used to get treated to a Majorette model.

Hmm having had tonsillitis before I’d beg to differ, no amount of 1/64 scale Peugeot 405s or Renault Safranes would convince me to put up with that.

Haha they've been long gone for a long time now, I think I was about 6 or 7 when they got pulled out, but I do remember days laid on the sofa feeling like death.

Here's something I'm sure @flat4alfawill appreciate - Kees Auto "Police" Beetle, clockwork motor and siren still work, but it sounds like Sheriff Buford T Justice's heart rate monitor in Smokey and the Bandit II
