I actually arrived before him - for the first time ever!

Actually surprisingly glad to see him, and everyone else.

So, what is there?

Well, there's no 50p tat box, much my sadness.

But there are some other cars to take my interest...

Also some which @eddyramrodhad asked for, many moons ago?

Plenty of other very dusty tat, but not a lot of old stuff.

Yankmobiles are by ERTL; Le Mans style Porsche racer is an Onyx. Corgi Rolls Royce Silver Ghost front right is a 1985 reissue; tyres are all split, annoyingly, or else I might have had it...

Other ERTL, Maisto, Corgi and Lledo abound.

Joal Scania and Siku Mercedes buses - a fiver each on the bigger stuff like these.

EDIT: all smol 1/76 scale buses (EFE, OOC, ABC etc) are £2 a throw!!

Some more unboxed ABC China Motor Bus vehicles - any interest from @Split_Pin?

Slightly chipped, and also a fiver each. I seem to recall the red one was sold as some sort of super-premium edition, back in the day.

A pair of Corgi Plaxtons, too.

Mmm, Lledo and Mmaisto. The tatmonger's old standbys.

Other tat on the stall largely non-automotive; no car logbooks today (apologies to @MorrisItalSLX), but hopefully they'll pop up in subsequent weeks.

So, the other stalls then: sadly, not a lot going on.

The fella who styles himself 'Junkman' had the same stock as on Christmas Eve, as far as I could tell:

201431172_IMG_20210430_0858212.thumb.jpg.56fd2a7261441490b6f8dca58e287c85.jpg

Sadly, most of the Lesneys are indeed junk, and the prices are a tad steep.

Nonetheless, he's always keen to tell me that he'll do a deal - and in fairness, the Dinky Rover SD1 priced at £12 is in pretty good nick. He may take a tenner, if anyone's keen?

Onwards to 'Paddy's Market', then:

535971158_IMG_20210430_0858582.thumb.jpg.7e3d92ca2ebe7d132e44f1bb87220f01.jpg

Another stasis booth - from what I could make out when I was briefly in the market earlier this month, as the waiting pen for COVID jabs, these just had tarps draped over them when the market shut the day before Christmas, and haven't been touched since.

Not that it would make much difference, as there's still no movement here.

1417509094_IMG_20210430_0859022.thumb.jpg.7da569931b8293cd951c7ce9df5e37da.jpg

Some interesting stuff, but daft prices.

I think he was looking £20 each for these Tonka dragsters last year. Weirdly, they're still here.

689514700_IMG_20210430_0859312.thumb.jpg.f073ca1f25d30ab2404d9bd66ca09568.jpg

I asked about the Corgi Ford Transcontinental transporter.

77560055_IMG_20210430_0859102.thumb.jpg.6f9a97ccb938130d24726c08c002f265.jpg

"£40 on that."

Right.

"It's from 1968."

It's not.

"They go for more on eBay."

They really don't; I have them watchlisted. Boxed, perhaps, but this one is a smidge chipped and yellowed, so....

Onwards to the Charity Stall.

883782638_IMG_20210430_0901222.thumb.jpg.612a180586b0e0493901844696e17cdf.jpg

Display and merchandising skills are on point.

Corgi Transit minibus had some axle woes, but otherwise decent.

1263931861_IMG_20210430_0900302.thumb.jpg.ad2853d54dad7ac6ebad4a4b50b09fbf.jpg

£4 on this one; I thought about it, then decided otherwise.

Corgi-wise, there were also these modern 'Past And Present' Guinness twin packs; nice, but probably not cheap.

1560579312_IMG_20210430_0901022.thumb.jpg.859d6107bb0fcbd06a8c67a8285b0238.jpg

1757457082_IMG_20210430_0900522.thumb.jpg.46b7cddce1ce43cdde2aa5c094e076a8.jpg

Also a demi-boxed Bburago Bini, a highly stylised Jada(?) Dodge Charger and a Saico Escrot.

855900819_IMG_20210430_0900412.thumb.jpg.2d1b0542ce222dbf6982db375ae87a15.jpg

EDIT: Charger is by 'Badd Rides'. Well, okay then.

Not really my bag, so I moved on.

Alan's Emporium was looking a little barren the diecast front:

2001840498_IMG_20210430_0902402.thumb.jpg.153c5a3329c458aa946fdcf9f14e479f.jpg

Alan himself apologised; with car boot sales and auctions shut, he hasn't had much opportunity to refresh his stock.

I told him that was quite understandable, and not to worry - hopefully there'll be more tat days still to come.

And that, it has to be said, was pretty much it for the market today... one stall had a handful of recent-ish carded Hot Wheels, but mostly fantasy stuff.

902133264_IMG_20210430_1052492.thumb.jpg.0272547cb7de6564dae0b2c9a18a3c3f.jpg

Another had a few Oxford Diecast and such amongst the sudoku books, birthday cards and grave candles (interesting range of product lines, that place), but you know what those look like anyway.

330371866_IMG_20210430_1037252.thumb.jpg.1457e53f680fe7449745c25362c9e670.jpg

The market was quiet... very quiet, actually.

And a bag of diecast tat, naturally... but I'll save the reveal until later!

Heading back in now, for Round 2. Also, some pancakes.

That's a brilliant pic - though at risk of descending into abject douchebaggery, their dates may be a bit out, as the Corgi logo on the front of the microlite is the post-1985 'roadsign' one.

No worries - I did, in fact, pre-emptively swipe all three of the ABC double-deckers, reasoning that if you didn't fancy them, I could probably find someone else who did! I reckoned they were decent value at £2 each, so the darker blue triple-axle is very much yours, and you've first dibs on the rest.

Heading back in to see if the Badgerline Dart's still there.

CURED.

It's a miracle!

In fairness, he really didn't bring his A-game today - this seems to be the stuff he was flogging back in early December, and it's mostly 80s/90s vintage-styled tat, unfortunately. No Vanguards, no original Lesneys/Dinkys/Corgis/ Spot-Ons and - most heinously - no 50p box!

Well, I asked: £15, but he'll take £12.

He also tempted* me with the dregs of his Tonka and Corgi for £8 the lot.

Cheers Tim, at £2 a pop I will indeed take all 3. The right most one is an ABC as you say but looks different to the Dennis Jubilant you got for me in December,  non opening drivers door for a start. I think its an almost Identical Leyland Victory so this will be great to have.

The left most one is a Fleetline.  I have a very similar Collectors Model one and couldn't afford the superior ABC example back in 2000 so again, this will be great to have. Weirdly ABC reissued it with the UK style front and normal hopper windows in Fife Scottish livery, which I also have.

Much appreciated. I didn't know Tat Friday was going to be on so its been a lovely surprise.

He's up a tree on the Saico Escort.

There were in Asda for £7.99

Probably are still in Asda, kicked under the shelving

Back over to Tat Central, then... and I was wrong to state there was nothing old; the partially restored and incomplete Spot-On Renault Floride was still there, amongst the other trinketry, for £10.

Mmm, naw.

It also turned out to be fortuitous that I scored the CMB buses when I did; by the time I arrived back over, there was a very excited Chinese family going through the box - tourists, judging by the leaflets they were holding - and they bought pretty much every CMB/KMB bus to be seen.

I suppose I would have been equally amazed to find a box full of Ulsterbus models in downtown Beijing, so I can kinda understand.

I did, nonetheless, manage to grab the Badgerline Dart for @Split_Pin - not a bad haul!

Pics etc to follow later on - I've a few appointments in town to chase up now, but I'll be passing the market again on my way back to the car around 12, if there's any last calls!

Black steel looking things, don't really do the casting justice at all.

A chance conversation with Smoll Eddy (he lives in my head after all)suggested fitting some wheels and tyres he had laying about in his lockup.

So that's what he did.

Well, slight hiatus there - ended up going down to visit the Cogparents as they were having bother with their iPhones, so ended up staying for a socially distanced sandwich in the garden. And then an impromptu tat photoshoot, so I'm just home now.

So then - what's in the bag, mister?

Well, this lot.

1882370872_IMG_20210430_1303502.thumb.jpg.a2aff937da15edf291bf9188eecb88aa.jpg

The 007 Corgi Juniors Lotus is in surprisingly good fettle for 20p - and is available for the same price.

209259433_IMG_20210430_1303552.thumb.jpg.eda271326aec68747ec7ae6e52551c75.jpg

I've been looking for a decent Matchbox Dinky MGB for a while, after my original childhood version got scratched up somehow. I don't know if this one is decent or not under all the grot, but it's a keeper for now!

EFE Leyland Nationals are not too bad, and available in inner or outer London liveries for £2 a pop.

Badgerline Bristol VR is one I actually do remember travelling on between Weston and Bristol - so that's another one for the Cog Collection.

184951129_IMG_20210430_1303582.thumb.jpg.3ba7d1767f03e19166c224e61335f22a.jpg

Badgerline Dart is already claimed, as are all the China Motor Bus models - but the Alexander Y Type and yet another National are up for grabs.

Both Chevies, Caddy and Renner are spoken for, as mentioned previously!

I don't really need the Corgi Bentley, but I kinda relish the idea of de-mankifying it.

I haven't done my sums yet, so I don't know how much it set me back - but if you're interested in some fifties British faded glory, hit me up!

692314314_IMG_20210430_1306032.thumb.jpg.3633fe86fe00eaf619fed224bfebd99c.jpg

Joal Scania Omnicity, in manufacturer demonstrator trim is a huge heavy monster of a thing - and has very pleasing spring-loaded pop out doors, which tickle me enormously.

This was comparatively pricey at a fiver, but goodness knows what it cost new. It's not mint, with some small paint grazes here and there, but should still display nicely.

Not sure if this one tickles @RoadworkUK's fancy? If not, it's up for grabs!

Also in slightly larger scale is this Siku Mercedes, with opening doors and engine cover.

389120473_IMG_20210430_1305552.thumb.jpg.826031bb5e563f6469eaca5ff4966a9b.jpg

Also coming in at a fiver, this has a few little marks, plus a small crack in the plastic roof, annoyingly.

Again, I'll give @RoadworkUK first refusal as I know he's had a few large-scale buses off the stall, but absolutely no pressure, dude! I've no doubt this'll find a home in short order, regardless.

Accompanying the Lotus from the Box Of Last Resort on the Charity Stall was a fairly grotty Corgi Juniors Gloster Saro tanker; dunno if it's any use to anyone, but for 20p... I'm a sucker. And it's for charridee.

1776336934_IMG_20210430_1306462.thumb.jpg.4e6613c7539143b6c46b92b9bc5be657.jpg

Speaking of being a sucker, I spent too long over at the stall with the smattering of long-card Hot Wheels and, sensing the stallholder was desperate for a sale, ended up buying these.

1434580039_IMG_20210430_1304522.thumb.jpg.e712edf8a0da02de45ee00211b7d1e92.jpg

£1.50 each, if anyone takes a shine to them!

I'll ping a DM to both @Split_Pin@eddyramrod once I have the spreadsheet fired up, and I've worked out what's what.
