At first, I thought that Q8 was a Heller Cliclac model of a Citroen C35, as the shape is unmistakable, it's obviously plastic and looks to be 1/32 scale, judging by it sitting on a piece of Scalextric track.

BUT you've been somewhat crafty here, by choosing not a C35 but in fact a Fiat 242 (though obviously the same thing, really), which was not helping my Google search.

Once that was discovered, I can now declare this to be a Piko Anker Plast Fiat 242, scale 1/25, with the feature being friction drive. So please split any points scored evenly between me and @andrew e, as he was on the right track!

I'm also now about to venture down a rabbit hole of checking out Piko's range, as I remembered having one of their red Barkas minibuses and an orange Alfa Romeo Junior ad a kid but I think there may have been one or two more....

While I was playing with the new model C30 the other day I was reminded of a toy Volvo the kids had when they were young. They were really into Russ Trolls (remember them?) and we got this V70 Barbie toy car for a few pence at a boot fair, they liked it as their Trolls fitted in it and it was just like the car I had at the time. So while putting the Christmas decs back in the loft, I got it out...

In my memory it was about the same scale as the C30, but it’s actually massive...

I think it’s 1:8

The tailgate didn’t open so far as this on my one though as I often hit my head on it...

Folding mirrors and opening petrol flap (why?)...

It had a couple of child seats in it originally, but the kids took them out...

Here one of the Trolls takes it for a quick spin...

That 1:18 C70 is probably made by Powco, I have a MK4 Mondeo by them. Nice big things, fun to play with and look good as models too.

I'm now away down a Range Rover rabbit hole due to starting building mine. 

I dug these 2 out of the loft.

The larger one was a swap with my pal Craig in about 1991. It's missing it's mirrors but I think they would have been those awful portrait type generic ones from the Mercedes Truck that also spoil my Superkings Rancho. I think it's part of a set as well,  can anyone confirm? I've never bothered with it until now but studying it more closely it's actually quite decent. The front grille and winch are nice and the Kielder Forest livery is quite relevant.

Now the other is a real long termer in my collection, a Rolamatics Range Rover. I got this around 39 years ago from one of my mum's friends 'Auntie' Sandra (all parent's friends, pals parents and so on were either Auntie or Uncle weren't they?) She also gave me a Matchbox Sea Rescue Helicopter and Mercedes shovel tractor. My Matchbox seemed to survive my rather rough play at that age far better than Corgi as all 3 survive in the same fairly good condition. The Range Rover was always my favourite although at the time, living in Glasgow, I didn't know what a Range Rover was. It still works as intended too.

...complete with a lumberjack/forest warden fella, whose hair dye had ran down his face quite well, what with all the sweat.  A proper grafter!

Not one of my best, but good to see it one piece at last. Means I have licence to start one or two more - I seem to have gone a bit Chevrolet crazy as I'm currently doing a '67 Impala with a Corvette ZR-1's engine, and then I'm building the Corvette as a quick kerbside build as it'll get another box off the shelf. Need to start something Japanese too.

In between jobs on the '55 I sorted out my American kits, as they'd become a bit scattered and I was losing track of what I'd got. A number of them were bought cheaply as engine donors, and some for their misery/obscurity:

I quite like the Citation Turbo X kit, but that modified "X" version is terrible.

Obviously a bit of a jump in scale from the Matchbox to the Welly...

I know that models in both 1:32 and 1:43 have been produced so I'd really like them as well and would also like more of the Matchbox models in other colours so if anyone has any for sale let me know. A bit new for most of you I know but worth asking...

So I have discovered another one... but you will need a chassis!

I recognise a couple of those! Hopefully they turned out to be more or less complete

They did thank you. The Funny Car will be more of a challenge as it's been partly built so would need some disassembly, and I'd probably need to source some new decals, but the More American Graffiti dragster could be something I'll have a go at this year when I want to do something different.

The 1955 Chevy is almost the same model as Harrison Ford drives in American Graffiti.

Q1: Corgi Trucks Leyland Roadtrain, in about 1/60-ish - from the early/mid 1980s. Is it a Corgitronics version with motorised trailer, that one?

Q2: Corgi Rover P6, with magic Trans-o-lite headlamps; 1/43 scale, or thereabouts?

Q3: Corgi Chevrolet 'US Van', probably with Rough Riders stickerage, 1/36 scale with opening rear doors revealing a shag-tastic 70s Vanner interior.

Q4: Jada Toys Ford Escort Mk1 RS from one of the seemingly endless 'The Fast & The Furious' films - but not sure if this is one of their bigger 1/32 scale, or one of the smaller ones. Special  features: opening doors and a 36 speed gearbox.

Q5: Bburago Rolls Royce Carmague, late 70s issue and weren't these smaller than 1/18 scale for some reason? I had one years ago and it looked wrong with my other 1/18. Say 1/20, and it has everything opening on it including tippy seats?

Q6: Jaguar Mk2, either by someone in like Tri-ang or else some far Eastern concern? Probably about 1/24 scale, at a guess! Friction powered?

I think it's the smaller one, still quite a large scale (1:32) but not the monster size version (1:24)

It's a bit more than that.  Both were supplied by George Barris for Universal Studios.  The car rolled in Graffiti was the spare backup car used in Blacktop

The Triumph was also marketed at Tomy, I think that's what mine says underneath.

Progress with the Range Rover. Nice separate chassis but it is really foutery.  All together now though.

It's one of the first cars I remember I had a toy of and I always wanted a real one.

Now I have a real one!

So I may as well totally regress and look for the toy. My toy was in gold but any colour will do.

I don't think there is a toy one as such - the likes of Atlas make scale models but looking on eBay they're north of £20. One for Tat Friday or maybe a lucky charity shop find I reckon

Mira also did a MK2 Granny key car. I got one in Palma Nova in 1983 in Sweeney-Consul bronze.

Corgi versions of the Volvo 760s in 1/36 scale do crop up every now and again, if that's any use, so I'll keep my eyes peeled once the market opens up again...

The main colours I've seen them in are dark metallic green, light metallic blue, and metallic grey - plus some racing versions, and some rare export-only police and taxi variants.

That said, the internet has also dredged up some metallic maroon and, yes, gold examples - so maybe your childhood original was one of these?

Lots of toy saloon ones about.

Polistil also make a 1/25 scale saloon and Stahlberg make an ABS plastic model one in a slightly bigger scale.

As above, Corgi make a 1/36 version.

Corgi, Matchbox, Majorette and Siku also make smaller ones. The latter came in a very vivid gold hue.

It's hard to a. Tell the scale from a photo and b. Remember the scale accurately from when the world was much much bigger than now and c. a long time ago.

But generally yes. A scale in the 1 to forty or thirties seems right I suppose, about twice as big as the small ones you sent me.
