I can has Rovers for land.  Both approximate 1:32.  Green one is all plastic by the legendary Roxy Toys of Hong Kong. White safari one by Britains and a proper die-cast. Oddly, the Hong Kong plastic models are more valuable...

What I didn't mention is the Roxy has friction motor and that is FWD

Might do a Britains comparision set with others (when found)

From memory, I think I've still got a few Land Rovers from my childhood despite them not really being my major interest.  Somewhere upstairs  rolled up in tissue paper for protection there's an early issue Matchbox one, open top with metal wheels, a Corgi RAF liveried one which came with a rocket trailer (I've seen the trailer in the last 10 years but not the Land Rover), a Spot-on LWB one with superb suspension and a battered AA Landy by Benbros (I think).

I still haven't photographed my early Dinky Toys, one or two being prewar, which I mentioned on here at least 3 years ago. Couch potatoes are not very productive 😴.

I might have 70  odd   Land Rovers...  The  plastic Hong  Kong one  ,  I has too  , i sold on ebay  for 70 quid .It went to Australia   a 2a  LWB station wagon version

I like these ones mostest

Now, who could be sending me Mondeo brake pads by post...?

Many thanks to @sierraman for these!

I only ever had the laser wheels version of the Saab 9000 (which, now I think of it, may have gone over to the very same man a few years back), so it's great to finally have a standard road car version.

The other three are much better versions of much-battered childhood examples; the Mercury Sable in particular seems really hard to find without all the paint hanging off it.

Cheers for these!

On an unrelated note, I was totally unaware of that Matchbox Suzuki Samurai until only a few years ago. The model shop where I worked stocked the larger Tyco-era Matchbox under the World Class and World Sports ranges (and was where @Split_Pin's RX7 originated), but I never remember the Suzuki. It can't have lasted very long, as it doesn't appear in my 1995 Matchbox catalogue.

We did stock loads of Escort Cosworths, though the Matchbox ones tended not to sell all that well, since they were about five times the price of the Bburago 1/43 version - and the 1/24 Bburago wasn't all that much dearer. I remember boxes and boxes of Matchbox Cossies up in that stockroom, in the blue and yellow Michelin Pilot trim.

The open fronted packaging was a terrible idea - it just didn't protect the model at all, and was why the RX7 ended up chipped despite being stored for decades. Dunno what Matchbox were thinking!

Class that it turned up in packaging that you could totally relate to the seller even if you had no idea who it was from!

SuperVan!  Doesn't Bunglebus have that too?  Did Zylmex make a larger scale one too or did I dream that?

No he does not 🙁

I'm sure I've seen a large scale version but cannot find anything about it online now

Found this though

Finished the Tatbox Mini.

Now, bad workman blames his tools but this Rover JBH Wedgewood Blue that I'm trying to use up is terrible paint. I've sprayed a few other cars this year with different tins and they were OK.

It's not too bad but I must try harder. I salvaged the only remaining sticker.

Overall I'm pleased with it, I love this casting and regretted selling my previous police version for a quid at a car boot some years ago.

I recall being amazed in about 1989 on discovering a bronze one of these in a friend's toy box. I was unaware at the time that there had ever been a model of the Clubman and I was very excited. It had no doors but I still swapped it for a Presidential Collection Micro Machine. I still have it, still has no doors either. It would be great to find a damaged one with good door to complete it.

The baseplate of these looks quite like a modified version of the earlier Mini base. One is on my watch list so I can compare.

What's happening at the Montrose Road Garages?

The Pinto has moved with its owner to a new garage beside his bungalow in Castlecary. It should be ready for the road soon.

However it turns out that the garage was only rented, the owner being Mr Tomasz Balanowski who moves between Poland and Cumbernauld as his work requires. He is a renowned Art Teacher and the nearby Morven High needed to do something about it's poor results in the Art Department so Mr Balanowski was called upon.

Not being one to ever throw anything away, under a cover to the left of the lock up was the 1985 C reg Skoda Estelle C67 FHS he bought as a cheap runaround to see him through his first tenure in Scotland in 1991. He left it there in 1992 before returning to Scotland again in 1995, buying a 1990 H reg example for £900 rather than revive the old C Reg.  H718 FSR was a run- out model, badged as a 'Phaser' by its original Dundee Skoda dealer to try and shift the last few examples. Check out the 'rally inspired' graphics they applied. They were clearly deadly serious about getting rid of these relics . However on returning after 20 years in 2020, he brought over his 1989 BMW 520i automatic rather than revive the Skoda which has been sitting for all that time. Not in its first flush of youth he nevertheless wanted to bring it with him as he knew similar examples in the UK were fetching silly money.

Just out of shot is Mr Orr's new Toyota MR2 project which he has managed to move into Mrs Irvine's old garage when she finally managed to sell her Dyane to a French car collector in Carlisle. It has a Spanish registered Citroen CX for company which itself came from Northern Ireland. More on the MR2 later.

Not so much glitter on this one as the Caprice - and I did my best to clean most of the shit off before posting.

Looking heaps better now, anyway! Slot mags look cool; way better than the previous owner's choices, any road...

I think the ‘Days Gone By’ of those Lledos being worth any more than their weight in mazak. Chuck ‘em in the skip.

Did the tyres in the back of the Citreon have labels on like a new tyre?
