Cheers hot wheels one looks right ( possibly facelift version as can't see front) the other 2 are newer version cute a few models of that version.

If you're looking for something bigger,Action/Brookfield did some NASCAR versions in 1/24.

The NASCAR one is newer model.

My mate says unfortunately there are loads of the earlier & later versions made in various scales but the (late 70's early 80's) pickup & suburban are overlooked even though the real ones are very popular.

The only version done seems to be the "fallguy" pickup (usually in the incorrect swb version).

Quick trip to the local 'little' Asda paid dividends, for once.

Seen this M3 on the HW groups for a while, nice to finally get one.

Good to see the little MX5 in plain unadorned form.

Who'd have thought a few years ago that Hot Wheels would be modelling a Kia? A great little rendering of a car I quite like the real version of. Nice Tampos on this one, front and rear.

Another nice standard casting. Hot Wheels are getting good at this lately with the rarely modelled Japanese sports cars.

Still looking out for the recently released '96 Impala SS though, which looks fab.

I've had that one for a while, the one I've never seen in Asda is the really big one - 1:18 or so?

Hello miniature people.

I've been clearing some of my dad's stuff out. Have these for selling. Any interest?

Slightly off topic but if I had a model  car from the first film I saw it could be any of these.

This was the main car character, as far as I can remember.

1960 Hillman Minx Series IIIa

This one will get a few pulses racing here.?

Sadly, you're unlikely to find any interested parties here, I reckon. The issue with these Days Gone models is that they're relatively new and were 'collectables' from the start, never toys, so there are thousands of similar examples in similar condition. As a result, values aren't high; maybe a pound a pop, at a car boot sale? The Minor may go for a wee bit more, as it's a more modern vehicle, so possibly of more interest.

That's not to say that they aren't nicely made little things but the subjects chosen are just a little prosaic for modern tastes. Doesn't mean they might not brighten up a shelf in a kitchen or something though, if you wanted to keep them?

You wouldn't expect it to be so hard, would you?  I've been looking for a model of a 2009 Ram crewcab for years.

A little showing off now, as I've been mounting cabinets and shelves on my walls, and slowly filling them up.  We'll start with my fleet of ambulances...

2036334435_DC054.thumb.jpg.a1a70bbe590fa7c06b203dd72d5d2af1.jpg

The blue Pontiac is missing the tailgate, so I guess I'd better order one sometime.  I'm not sure I want to start opening it up though, it's in pretty good shape otherwise.

This one is full of fire vehicles, arranged by nationality.

421685592_DC043.thumb.jpg.7f73b8b1f688ae474180cf11b8073ddd.jpg

It isn't entirely full, there's another shelf left at the top, but I don't yet know what I'm going to put on it.

This one is full (ish) of Bond cars and UK police cars.

997479583_DC046.thumb.jpg.b88b75e80aa2850c44fb5af3c2672b29.jpg

Note the Hot Wheels and "others" hanging from nails simply knocked into the wall.  To the right as you look at them, you can dimly see the "personal" fleet: cars I have owned or otherwise had something to do with.  I must take some better pics of those.

More showing off to follow when I feel like it, lol.

I'm not so sure, I reckon it's a copy - don't think HW have ever been made in China, and they always have at least Mattel on the base

Cheers eddy it's the model before that, has small rear lights ( reminds me of MK3 Cortina ones) & round headlights ( think facelift has stacked rectangular ones) , finnagens garage on YouTube has "square force one" crew cab ramp truck.

Interesting, thanks. Definitely the same casting, but the front undercarriage is screwed not rivetted.

Yep that was a big clue too - very common on Chinese cars but not on Hot Wheels. It's an interesting casting and one I don't have!

Didn't spend as much time on it this weekend as I'd hoped, but made some decent progress on the JDM Picnic:

IMG_3267.thumb.JPG.3849461147dff9ce268f4ce9df09abf8.JPG

There is a surprising amount of detail work to do, with black trim around the windows, the roof strips, black edging around the sunroofs and most of the glazing, black in the headlights, a wash to get into the fgrilles on the front etc etc. I'm not fully there with it all yet, but I took this shot just to prove to myself that I was on the right track. All that black (actually Revell #9 Anthracite) was brush-painted, but with BMF applied first as masking tape.

Compare and contrast:

Also, I've been working on a JDM Nissan Cedric, A.K.A. Datsun 280C:

Probably not going to use these wheels, but it'll sit low on something aftermarket.

I'll be painting it that TS-21 Gold colour, with a full on beige and brown interior with this as my inspiration:

I picked up a cheap can of Austin Rover Sandalwood Beige at Halfords and I'm using that, with flat and semi-gloss clear to give it the right finish.

I well remember that generation of Cedric as a pillared sedan, but not a "hardtop."  You can tell where the Japanese were aiming their cars, can't you!  The untrained eye could mistake the Cedric for a 1973-ish Ford LTD.  What a shame we didn't get the hardtops over here....

Can I take the blue MK3 zephyr Farnham ( think I've just the bronco 2 in the reserve parking at present).

So if you can hold onto those.

Yep, can do... it's a nice wee thing, the Zephyr. I only noticed this morning that there's a crack across the plastic base just behind the rear wheels, but it's really not that noticeable and a dab of glue could sort it. Should tidy up nicely with a bit of chrome pen.

The Majorette Bronco 2's still here, no bother - and I also have you down for this Transit Mk3 from the previous clearout in May, unless I've got your order confused with someone else's?

Sure thing - now set aside for you! Full marks for bravery, dude; the Mercedes should be a nice little thing once it's done. The Audi is actually really nicely proportioned too; better than I might have expected from what's very much sold as a toy.

It's good to see that Hot Wheels are going through a bit of a sweet spot again, with plenty of detailed castings of real cars. The MX5 has just enough detail to make it stand out from the plainer original castings from the early 90s, while that RX7 FC looks the business.

Funnily enough, the only other FC I've ever encountered in this scale is this no-name jobber from a tat box the other week.

A trip to Smyths netted me some new Hot Wheels.

The "something" was this, to donate glass to my custom one. I feel bad destroying it as it's really tidy, but not especially rare or desirable?
