Good old Langleys! I always pop in if I'm passing (sadly rare) just in case they've got a stack of 1:18 AutoART models going cheap. They did, once, which is how I own a 007 FYEO Esprit. Way out of my price range now.

Just found the photo I took:

By chance, I think we're heading up to Norwich tomorrow. Will try and take a look to see what they still have.

The three models purchaced from @Datsuncog arrived today, beautifully boxed and individually wrapped, thanks so much, very pleased A* seller, would buy again etc.

Also it was bonus to find the Se7en had a screen as I thought it was missing...

Hey, glad they arrived with you safely!

Yes, the original Lotus was indeed missing its windscreen... but then I found a more intact one in the market tat box the other week, so popped that one in the box instead. It's a smidge bendy-over, but maybe straightenable?

Windscreen-free Lotus is therefore still available...

Little known but fairly useless fact. The Matchbox Tanzara was actually based on a real car, it was based on the British Leyland Zanda concept.

That's fantastic - I never knew anything about that, and it's an early Harris Mann 'wedge' design too.

Right enough, there's more than just a hint of TR7 about the front end...

I've been much less down on all these krazy Superfast fantasy cars since I started learning that many of them were real-life styling concepts from major manufacturers, and low-volume kit cars...

Every day = school day.

Still trying to work out why the front end of the Woosh 'n' Push looks just like a Maxi, mind...

It looks nothing like a Maxi!  The sump is too high.

Does it have to be boxed, or will blister pack do?

Well if you want an unboxed one, you know what I'm going to say...?

No I have two Caprices, sorry wasn't clear

They are cleared out of all MB stock.  Including 5 packs.

There is however a Banana car that's found itself into the HW tray.

I happened to find myself in smyths toy store locally looking for the 850 touring car but found this. It’ll do I suppose. For a quid fifty.

Nope, doesn't really need any packaging- though a box is kinda nice - it just needs to be a factory fresh version of my bashed-up one!

Right, so perhaps if a nice clean example of MB68 ‘Racing BF Goodrich’ was sent to your door, it might be persuasive enough for MB68 ‘Motorsports’ to be popped into the current cogbox, minus its generic MB68 empty box if need be?

Goodness me!

Of that lot, I reckon it's the 166 I'd most struggle to leave on the shelf.

There’s more 166 on that shelf

...than there are on the roads!

I went into both branches of Langleys, none of the tins were left in either shop. I'm pleased they have the secondhand shop for old kits and diecasts, but there was nothing there that took my fancy this time.

Well, I suppose that if a hypothetical MB68 with BF Goodrich tampos were to mysteriously arrive at a putative door then, for the sake of argument, it might suffice to cause the Motorsports version to hop from the 'keep' box to the 'sold' box...

...hypothetically speaking, of course...

Last month I got some new arrivals, what with everything going on at this end, I didn't get around to photgraphing them until now.  Thanks to Mike for these, made for a great little birthday present.

Well, except for the fact that I now have a yet another Field Car.  It's not in bad shape, that said.

I enjoy these more fanciful offerings from Matchbox.  For some reason, I've always found this green hovercraft much harder to find than the white one.

1470052360_72and2-Hovercraft.jpg.c24379d9693a16fc8d9d000013eb1930.jpg

My second Alfa Carabo, this time in a much less lurid colour combination.

I've been able to expand my modest Kingsize/Superkings collection too kicking off with an all time favourite.  Shame it doesn't have the bullion trolley with it, but then they never do.  Combination lock on the rear door works and none of the knobs have been chewed, which makes a change.

I didn't know they did this hovercraft in this scale, nor that it has Rolamatics type innards so when you push it, the radar dish and the propellor both rotate.  I like this one a lot.

Hooray for weirdness!  Missing the tracks, as usual, and with wibbly wobbly back axles, this Adventure 2000 is prime restoration/customisation fodder so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it.

I'm guessing this is a re-release of an earlier set, it's not one I've seen before and I know Matchbox did release a good number of vehicles in this boring olive drab for military playsets.  Overall, it's in reasonable shape, even the tow hook is still there and the axles aren't mangled.

1982385188_K-14K-110RecoveryVehicle.jpg.5b6b1927ae19dcff7f649816747d8bf9.jpg

I did have a red non-rally one of these which I think I sold.  It's a nice enough model but one that I'll probably sell on at some point.

Last item is this long Transit with a missing door.  Not sure what I'm doing with this one yet, again it's a nice model, well detailed and proportioned.  I'm tempted to turn it into a White Arrow delivery van, just need to find a replacement door to do it.  Or maybe I'll just find a door in the wrong colour, do a bit of decal removal and weathering, and make it look like a privately owned ex-Datapost van.  World of possibilities with this one.

Picked up the Hot Wheels Skyline in Japanese Police livery and the black CRX. Quite liking their JDM issues at the moment. No Volvo 850 though :(

Do these all have the same security code? A couple I've looked at had the same number on the base...

They also adapted the casting into the Battle Kings 'Hover-Raider'.  I've had this since I was a lad, Mum gave it to me for a Christmas.

Dinky also did a 'rola-matic' SR.N6 as well.  It's slightly larger and heavier, with its die-cast base, alloy wheels and rubber tyres.  Opening front door hatch too.  My fave.

But the question remains - WHICH WILL WIN THE RACE ?

For a minute there I got FAR too excited at the prospect of Rolamatic Scaletrix racing hovercraft.

Truth is, that was why I bought it: I knew a Dinky would be screwed together and was going to motorise it.  What I didn't expect was for it to arrive in such great condition so I had to leave it as is.

Searching for a tatty but working order donor to do the daft hover slot idea.  It is rather heavy though

I'll keep a weather eye out... I'm sure I've seen a couple of scruffy ones in among the tat boxes.

I got this copy of a Majorette pickup from eBay ages ago20191210_174218.thumb.jpg.2062e0b082483750cfdd4133c4258406.jpg

The real one is my favourite Majorette ever20191210_174235.thumb.jpg.f66fdcea5d4abc73722a18ae33187481.jpg

Can't help with the answer

But what did strike me was the quarter-light window that's not on other Dodge D-Series casting variations such as this Fire Brigade one

Sorry I should have cleaned it before poking a lense in its face
