Me and my Brother had that Sierra XR4i as a kid. It's from a cheapo slot car set we had for years. Can't recall the make though. Probably had it as a B'day / Xmas present.

I had a pinkish coloured one and my Brother had the Blue version you have pictured. Lights use to work on them too.

Anyone remember any rare scale models you'd like to get a hold of?

I'll start:

Here's one I've never been able to find. A 1/24 (or 1/25) De Tomaso Pantera.

It looked a bit like this one:

hq720(9).jpg.cc0a34bdb7b3862f73b5de82f94d87ba.jpg

But I'm pretty sure it wasn't a build-it-yourself one, but it may well have been.

My uncle isn't much of a car guy, he used to trail brocantes (car boot sales) and pick up interesting bits. I have asked him about it,  but I think he sold it on at a brocante he did a few years back.

I remember he had this 1/25 De Tomaso in black and I'm sure it had BBS-style wheels in hold on it. I'd love to get a hold of one (as if I haven't already got enough interesting 1/24 1/25 scale stuff).

Also, many years ago, back when I was still trade-plating for a living. I was sent to a small car sales place somewhere around Cambridgeshire/Suffolk area. It was in the middle of a small quiet residential street which was unusual.

In their office, they had a 1/24 Paul's Model Art Minichamps E39 BMW 5er like this one:

I've always wanted one since. I'm also looking fir the E36 3er if anyone has one for sale or knows where to find one. Tried eBay and Vinted without much luck. Not in a rush but I thought I may aswell stick these here.

Lastly, I tracked down the Pantone Porsche

Will have to look out for the 4Runner, and 300ZX I suppose although I already have quite a few versions of it.

On the subject of the Pantone range I was surprised to see a couple of them in Tescotainer today. I got the Nissan Fairlady, I think the other one was the Camaro.

A very busy toy fair this morning, but I didn't get that much this time

Ixo/Altaya Dodge Avenger 1800 SE

The Rostyle wheels are great.

I assume it's some sort of part work for a far off country and if so I wonder how it ended up over here. Didn't someone turn one into an Avenger @danthecapriman maybe?

I converted one of the Dodge 1500 Rural’s into an Avenger estate.

This one started as the yellow one with the roof rack that you can pick up easily and cheaply (especially from Jumajo!).

Yesterdays toy fair finds, cheapies from me, I only just went over a tenner! Oddly they all needed a spruce up, but came out grand 👍

From the @bunglebus diecast emporium, Corgi Escort in Red star livery is a great representation of the dying days of BR’s courier service, even if the after 10 years production the Escort van had lost its opening doors and gained a huge rear bumper, and generally lost its casting crispness sadly.

Next up is the no-name E36 wagon, which is a toy not a model and all the better for it!

Nicely cast, if too wide a track, and the tailgate is thankfully not full of plastacine. Painted and detailed in a more authentic colour (or lighter dakar yellow) this would be a cracker on the right wheels/narrowed axles.

Next up is a Norev facelift Dispatch, or more accurately a ‘Jumpy’ to give it the correct rest of the world moniker. It even came in the world’s mankiest box for free 😆  Nicely cast with opening rear doors and the huge towbar (which might get a dab of matt black to hide its size). These 1/64 Norev’s are always a treat.

In 2003 I had a new company HDI one of these and it felt jet propelled, it was so quick! Shame both sliding side doors let gallons of water in….

Now this Welly Pajero is a little cracker, to the extent I will keep my eyes out in future for more. A beautiful casting very nicely detailed.

Lastly the Hongwell SAAB 95 which seems to have the world’s thickest black paint, but the casting doesn't look so blunt in the flesh. Detailing is great even down to the SAAB alloys.

I bet that Saab would look really good if you stripped the thick paint off and respray it.
I’ve found with quite a few models the factory paint is so thick it actually fills the detail in the casting but it all comes back after a DIY paint job.

That Corgi Red Star Escort is cool too, I don’t remember seeing that one.
