When I returned from my Morrisons mission, a box was waiting for me with this within

I accidentally outbid @Split_Pin to buy it though, oops.

If you saw the eBay listing on the mini tat thread, you'd have noticed it had just completed a rally stage around the vegetable patch. It all came off easy enough thankfully, but it is a bit of a strange one, clearly been well played with and caked in mud, cracked glazing and evidence of at least one rollover, but yet all the easily broken plastic bits are in place. Like most of us, I didn't even know they made a Bburago Kadett. The pics make it look brighter than the actual pastel green it is, very similar to the Matchbox one

There are loads in the Morrisons I went in, tempted to pick up some more.

Nearest Morrisons to me is 40 mins away. It’s very much the luck on the day that I go looking around these parts. Sometimes there’s some good new stuff, but often the scalpers have been way ahead of me. They must know the delivery days for these stores!

This was a small high st. store - I think it's almost completely unpredictable when they'll get new stock - the one in my local parade has had three restocks in the last six years!

That's a much nicer colour in your pictures, I originally thought it was a repaint. I think the civilian version is quite an old one and still in the 'HAT' era (Hobbies And Toys).

A whole pound netted me these three in a charity shop;

Think the early ones had consul like the std cars, I'm not into the antique mk1-2 versions 😁

Has anyone ever added rear window louvres to a model car?

One in progress…

Nope… would have been my first guess though.

I don’t think anyone will get it but I won’t tell you for now.

Back panel is a separate green plastic part

PXL_20250721_182922933.jpg.0c4f3fe5553c98ad14f67817d75c99ea.jpg

Which also forms the side exit exhaust! Very odd, I want to take this apart to see what's going on

PXL_20250721_182939886.jpg.46b2aa1aa66a06c60b8b327fe93bd73d.jpg

Hard to see the interior, but it definitely has one

I think that back panel and the exhaust being part of the interior plastic moulding is awful.

The Cortina was originally sold under the Consul brand from 1962 to 1964, along with the Classic, the Capri and the Corsair.

I think I posted this video when the to show the inspiration for the Hot Wheels model when it was first posted in the thread. If you are ever up near the Scottish Borders then the Jim Clark Museum is worth a visit.

I added some badly when I de-BTTF-ed a Scalextric DeLorean. Mine were just thin balsa.

I went to a collectable shop looking for vintage star wars stuff - I spied this.

Not everbody's cup of tea. I have seen these sell on ebay for almost £100. The sticker on this said £35. Duly purchased.

A little bit of detail added to the MK1 Cortina

The Matchbox wheels were the closest thing I could find to Lotus steels with hubcaps, I did consider a set of Minilites off one of the Hongwell Minis, but I absolutely love the steels so this was the only choice really. They are slightly larger than the originals annoyingly.

I wonder what the next colour will be?

That new Cortina is a little cracker, but it’s amazing how much touching in a few extra details lifts it. Nice job👍

Maybe they’ll release the red & gold as a premium??

Love it, looks like Yatming wheels but lots of the HK manufacturers used similar.

Got to be a copy of the Matchbox Golf?
