Never mind Dickie Davies: the commentary was often by the great Murray Walker!  That's worth going down the rabbit hole, quite apart from any other factor!

For some reason Guisval partially obliterated the Patrol name on the base

That 5 pack is like gold dust, I've got one but finding a second for my friend has proved impossible so far,

Is the Cosworth a unique version not seen elsewhere?

Will let you know if I find another pack.

Yes, all Hot Wheels 5 pack cars are unique to that set. About 30-40% of the 8/9/10 pack cars are too, despite only one in each being promoted as an exclusive.

I'm getting to that age where my pension is becoming an increasingly significant and important consideration, not just some abstract concept a long way in the future. Turns out I don't need to worry, look what I found when sorting out other stuff:

IMG_5309.thumb.JPG.40cff672311d4a2d5580b9561c66eb78.JPG

Even got the little certificates with the RT set.

Sorted!

I vageuly recall sending off for the RT set and the Enfield Pageant ones were given out instead of plaques. I know they're all rubbish, but I can't bring myself to get shot of them.

You’ve got it made!

In all seriousness, some are quite nice if you put aside the silly investment bollocks that seems to accompany them.
I’ve got a load of them in the loft I’ve had for many many years. I’m not hugely into them really but just can’t part with them!

The LD van is a nice little model though.

The Enfield ones I totally get, how about a shadow box with pictures of the entered car concerned and some other related bits?

I can remember which cars I took and I'll have photos of a few others. Good idea for a little project one day, to give them a bit of context.

In the meantime I have a lot of editing to do from photos taken this morning......

After the recent Corgi additions and finding others scattered amonst various cabinets and boxes I had a bit of a sort-out and stocktake of the mostly 1/36-ish collection:

IMG_5312.thumb.JPG.685e04598dae78173c9066ae5e85ebeb.JPG

Boxed stuff, in addition to the Jean Richard Circus set. Not entirely sure why I've ended up with 3x Sierras.

IMG_5329.thumb.JPG.a405345dbbc6455ace82b0f5c7483b22.JPG

IMG_5333.thumb.JPG.e99e867b05f6907503350f0bdaa5e1ae.JPG

Rest of the 1/36 stuff, a few dating back to my childhood but the rest picked-up as and when. Unboxed, playworn-but-tidy exampes never seem to fetch too much.

IMG_5390.thumb.JPG.3e08e9f5b4d9de7f72f9ae6f2aed5b77.JPG

And the randoms.

I know there was some for/against 1/36 discussion on here quite recently, because of when I grew up then I'm in the 'for' camp. I can appreciate the detail of the pre-1/36 cars, but I don't recall having many when I was young.

Trying to think of what 1/36 cars I'd like to find that have evaded me to date, probably just the Supra and Senator.

Great collection, I struggled to think of any gaps! I'm always on the lookout for a Supra too.

Nice Mercedes Ambulance too, I have never seen one in the metal, only in the Collectors Club Magazine.

I'm firmly in the 'for' camp too.

I've reduced my shelf space further as I wanted my wife to have half the Toy Room for her dolls houses.

The Supra,  standard older issue of the Mercedes 190E and Mercedes Ambulance are the only 1/36s I have never owned.

I think most of my Corgi 1:36 stuff is now with you lot!
The Supra, Merc Ambulance and Honda Prelude are the only ones I’ve never had.
They are really nice models but there’s just ‘something’ missing from them somehow that stops me keeping and collecting them. I think the only two left here now are a yellow Sierra and white/red Transit wrecker. The Mercedes 190D is a good looking model - I had the silverish blue one, now with one of you lot, but they always seem to have the screen pillars broken. Volvo 760 was another good one, pretty sure @FakeConcern has my old green/blue one?

OK, as promised, here is most of my Corgi 1/36 collection.

Starting with the big group: mostly unrestored, in my General Display.   I did some close-ups of this lot too...

100_1988.thumb.JPG.8d8469af95ad41a09818da71849faa47.JPG

Now a group from my Family History cabinet...

100_1985.thumb.JPG.7ef222ea9d86e04b39fdf41f49e4d86d.JPG

Bonna ambulance on the Merc W123 chassis...

...and if you have an ambulance you should have some attending copcars, right?

100_1982.thumb.JPG.5eaba721ac737aee86c03495dec2f0c4.JPG

And finally, the Film/TV branch.

There are actually others too, either waiting in my Projects boxes or drilled apart and waiting for stripping or painting, but the drilled ones are outside and it's too bloody cold.  And after yesterday I haven't got the strength.

From memory, waiting in the queue:

1x Mini

1xMetro

1x Mercedes W114

1x Range Rover

1x X1/9

1x Transit milk float

1x AMC Pacer

1x Bond BMW 7-series

1, maybe 2x SD1

2 or more x Escort van

These are just the ones I can remember.  I may have missed some; it's possible there's an XJS in there too.  I can't face going through the Pending box upstairs today.

I've never had the Transit wrecker or any version of the Chevy Caprice; nor (IIRC) any of the superminis: Polo, Fiesta, R5.  Don't think I have, or ever did have a Bond DB5 in this scale.

@eddyramrod The Kojack Buick's look great in different colours, I wonder what the Grand Torino would look like in a suitable pale metallic little old lady spec?

That reminds me... there's a Torino in the queue.  Thank you for the Buick appreciation.
