Oddly a couple of them came up at a different price, £2.10 each not £2.40 (and they all got multibuy/clubcard discount in any case).

The Entertainer toy section cars should have (annoying) stickers over the barcodes so that they come up at £2.40 rather than the £2,10 Tesco price.

Good to see the treasure hunt, not been a common one - still haven't seen the D case one as we seem to have skipped over that mix

There are a few on the forum and tucked in this thread.  If you meant just that colour variation, it was a mainline Hot Wheels for 1982

Original tooling was 1978-1984.  A retool done around 2012

It was never named ‘Golf’, in case you’ve tried doing a search. The name is Hare Splitter

Reason behind that is due to the VW Golf then being renamed to VW Rabbit for the North American market. So some bright spark decided they couldn’t name it either way as it would be splitting hairs. A hare is similar to a rabbit. So a name was born and the pun lives on

I had a white one. The bonnet annoyed me because it never seemed to shut flush.

It would appear to be the same on this one.

Just the model in general with the opening bonnet and roof rack spare wheel.

Ok you have choice of white or yellow for the original releases, identical tampo print ‘Monte Carlo Rally’

IMG_0799.jpeg.9bfc9c44cfba1e06ac1f9c2d4aa88d17.jpeg

The retool from recent years was in two blues and a green, one-colour roof rack and wheel though.  Probably most common find is this blue, complete with *authentic ill-fitting bonnet (or Hood! But arguing that would be splitting hares, haha)

A hoard of valuable antiques was recently unearthed while auditing the harvested contents of my late grandmother-in-law's house.

And there was I thinking that I didn't have much of a pension to look forward to.

That Golden Jubilee bus must be worth a fortune, for a start. It's collectible.

See?

I actually quite like some of them. Nevertheless, I'll soon be putting them in the loft, and I probably won't see them again until I'm in my 60s.

I’m not ashamed to admit, I too have a box full of similar stuff in the loft. I’ve had them yonks for some reason but don’t really want to get rid of those particular ones. They can stay packed away in the loft though!

You never know, in the distant future after I’m long gone someone can remember me by inheriting them… and cursing my name🤣

Bagged a couple more ‘memorable cars of Mexico’ vehicles today. Not ones you see too often either.

Fox Mustang in ‘five oh son’ flavour.
The colour on this is lovely! Almost like Roman bronze, but not quite so copper-ish in sunlight.

Ford F250 Ranger long bed.
Nice to get a long bed one, most of these partwork pickups are short. Im tempted to repaint the interior on this one into a tan colour?

I wonder how many of those days gone vehicles are in lofts/attics up and down the country!?

There must be absolutely millions of them out there. Especially the Ford vans in their seemingly infinite numbers of releases and promotional ‘collectible’ series.

More done on all the projects I’ve got going on at the moment,

Painted a few bits on the AEC cab. Just waiting for that to harden now before I use some of the black wash to dab into the low spots on the front grills. Hopefully that’ll make them look a bit more grill like.

Sprayed the ex bond BMW E28. I was going to do it silver but then found some pale gold and used that instead. I like it! Looks like that gold BMW used on 80’s cars and Volvo used a similar shade too.

IMG_4803.jpeg.da005a2a1eb899c3e02de9d3a04ee9c0.jpeg

Leyland/BMC FG beaver tail is almost done. Just got to fit mirrors next.

This one’s had a quick dab of the black wash too, around the cab panel joins and seams, and some heavier patches on the bed to resemble dropped oil patches from some of the recovered shit heaps it’s had on the back!
I need some wasp stripe stickers/decals for the ramps and I might have a look around for a suitable amber beacon light for the roof.

The E28 just needs a set of 3 spokes & the spacer removed,& it'll look like mine from the nineties 😀.I think it said green on the logbook.20240607_183129.jpg.6b944c597d007149b1a4f0e4970ff626.jpg

That’s a funny shade of green!😄

3 spoke alloys too. Very cool.

In a coincidence I inherited these via my inlaws the other week...

An impressive range of vans, Model T, Model A, Bullnose Morris and Bedford OB. Not sure on the yellow mustard van or the black OXO one.

These are probably the most interesting of the bunch.

image.jpeg.cde808448cfa3198989d999146ed88fd.jpeg

I reckon some of them could actually look pretty good with a bit of detailing, despite them being pretty old and low budget models when new.

I may steal the display case for some of my 1950s Dinkys...

Having recently decided I'm only colllecting Corgi/Dinky sized toys I was thinking of roffling that box again with the Corgis removed and a few extra bits and bobs added. The Lone Star Impys would be included as well as that orange Stumpy BMW . Would there be any interest?

Well that's one ticket I can sell!

I just need to teach the cat to choose a number, is that right?

Because it’s plastic and would be unique* and great idea* fitted with one of these.  Not that the Wife would agree.

Well, yes.  Was a bit gutted last time as I wanted those Lone Stars.  Even though already have similar examples, but the lust is strong.  Because, twat.

Yeah, something like that...

Don't do what I did, though.

Very mess, much confuse.
