Funnily enough, I did encounter the Harley version of the HiLux at the market a very long time ago - but it was a bit scruffy, and I thought the chrome-effect windows looked a bit naff, so I left it.

Yet to see the police version of the Suzuki in real life!

There's a sort of collectables/ antiques shop not far from me which has a Bburago Mk2 Escort for sale - tidy, but pricey enough at £35.

I found a worn but not-too-bad one at the market for @Split_Pin a few years back, for a rather more palatable Ā£4.

Will keep an eye out for you - though prices seem to have gone up in recent years.

I'm quite simple in my needs, really...

Worth a watch, I'd say.

Expand

I've just watched this, it's hilarious!

I never liked racing Hot Wheels on track (even though I did have a track) as a kid, but now I'd run my Matchbox C30 & Hot Wheels C4 VTS (my only suitable cars) on that Race Canyon track anytime.

I've just remembered I have a few Hot Wheels Minis too...

My dad had an ashtray and the pen set back in 1971. He thought he was the height of sophistication with those on his desk until the world went onyx mad and he replaced them with some lumps of rock with faux gold plated accessories.

Very nice! That’s a nice green for the Herald.

You’re right though, it’s damn cold outside at the moment. I went out and did some bits and came back in not long after to sit next to the radiator! Sod it!

That's the Herald you sent me, that had no front axle.  The green and white on it wasn't bad, but not brilliant either.  I think it'll look really well when it's reassembled.

Brilliant!

You could do with one of those bulldog clamps/paperwork clamp things, nail or screw it to one of the bits of wood and then use it to hold smaller parts while you paint. It’d be ideal for holding that Transit door by its hinge while you spray both sides, and it can dry on the holder too then.

My Dinky resto needs the NSR door card in red.

Talking of red - Javelin is indeed a rarity from a two pack, along with the Golf

I would need to check, but I think I have a NSR repro door card spare for Dinky Zodiac as I bought a pair of them at a toy fair.

Looking at this I need the OSR

Toy fairs reportage......

Fired-up the trusty Carina E and headed down to Ipswich. No gaps filled in the MIB-ish Superfast collection, but a good day for interesting randoms at decent prices. Quite a few 50p/Ā£1/Ā£1.50 tat boxes to rummage through.

IMG_9627.thumb.JPG.f3fa5d62dc50068cc89094c2c9f5602e.JPG

Pleased to find an older boxed Tomica at < £10.

IMG_9625.thumb.JPG.03c3cc0e7974eb1b9f6cada254fa1e12.JPG

More small ones. Seller of the Dinky Celica St. [sic] had a few others in the range, none of them Japanese though (and I already have the Accord). HW Datsun Z from the 1980s? I thought the Rolls was a Matchbox in a different colour until I got home and saw it was by Maisto.

IMG_9623.thumb.JPG.5a71f24e1e1ffa3132ceedc11a39ac28.JPG

Majorettes. Toyota Lite Ace probably my favourite find of the day, but also good to get the Alfa 75. 604 and caravan weren't hitched-up on the stand, but surely they came as a pack in the co-ordinating colours?

Land Cruiser and boat combo was bought with the possibility it may be of interest to the wife of someone on here.....

1/43-ish things. RR and Ferrari racer by Solido, plastic 104 from Norev.

IMG_9630.thumb.JPG.542ec4d470c93e300de671995a87878c.JPG

Already have another boxed Sierra, one or the other may be of interest to @RoadworkUK? Have several other Elites but not this dark blue one which was inexpensive and tidy. Welly Corrado of interest to you @bunglebus?

IMG_9632.thumb.JPG.d0410c59b4040b5c3005f217d0789050.JPG

I try not to get too much in the way of Superkings, but this was offered to me at a tempting price when I bought some other stuff and I liked the fact that the covers and almost all of the bits and bobs were still there (just missing one pallet).

IMG_9619.thumb.JPG.d89bd80517db2570cd8eaadc9e11c64c.JPG

It's rare I can find any kits I want at these affairs, but one chap had a few cars amongst the planes etc and at £18 for a complete, unstarted copy of this nicely detailed Jaguar I couldn't resist. Would be nice to find/get 3D printed some steel wheels and recreate this one my Granny had in the '70s:

1962/63 Jaguar Mark 2, mid-late 1970s

Could have spent more time and money at both fairs, but had other things to do.

Did manage to squeeze in a visit to one or two shops as I was driving around. Nothing of interest in Asda, but found the Neon Speeder GT-R in Smyths (and had a chat there with a guy I know through work, who I didn't realise also buys HWs). Matchbox pair came from Tesco.

All in all a good trip out, now got to find where to store/display it all....
