Racing Imp had no maker's name on it - some sort of partwork?

Brand: EDICOLA

I think the Imp is from the Atlas British Touring Car Champions series

Yo Tim, can I cancel the yellow capri please? I've twigged that it's a 1/32 Burago job and I need a cheap 1/43 Capri as a glass donor. Interested in the green E46 Beemer, Vanguards esprit or that Atlas George Bevan Imp though!

No I don't want it despite being 1:32

FIRE BIRD TRANSAN

Yes, that is what it says.  Mis-translation things like this make me smile.

It's not so bad really.  It is at least recognisable as a 1978 Pontiac Firebird complete with central hood 'shaker', cross-hatch grille and inset front turn signals.  The door panel gap could fit a Bella Emberg through, but still.

Any idea who made this?

Yeah, alright bastards! You try posting in a panic in the arse end of rural Aberdeenshire,,,🤣

The whole ‘depends which one’ annoys me at Car Boots. It’s invariably followed with ‘I know wot these are worf’ or some vast sum off the top of their head.

You were right to panic as I reckoned it was Bburago too but didn't speak up as I thought they were 1:32!  I had one, same colours, and it was 1:32 on box, sold it new/boxed, during a fit of shelf clearance

You may have been beaten by me on the Bevan Imp though, however @Datsuncog probably is keeping it to fondle for a while himself, despite it looking out of place on the construction site garden rockery.

As we have a little break from the Tat Friday dialogue, I thought I'd post up my contributions to the Acclaim, Ballade, Prelude chat.

Here's a rather super resin model from NEO of the Prelude.

These NEOs are quite pricey, but they are damn good.

DSCF5344.thumb.JPG.baaf7e034eda58d44a324e98204800e1.JPG

They are usually LHD with Dutch plates on, so maybe not for all UK collectors.

But the detail and colours are just great.

Fiver each - could be worse?

I think we've seen these before - more Corgi Classics (Thorneycroft box vans, sadly) plus a Royal Wedding Super Kings bus and Mobil Corgi Volvo racing truck.

I assume the HK bus box did not contain a HK bus, only the LT bus?

I received my CogBox from last week's market and I'm delighted as always.

I'm not up to the standard of RoadworkUK 1/18 scale photography or AndyW201s detailed 1/43 captured but I gave it a go with my potato cam.

First up is the Maisto TT. For those that don't know I have a 1/1 version albeit in arguably more attractive coupe form. But with just a missing mirror, this one is otherwise mint and in the right colour. It's also 225 spec with the twin rear tailpipes. Being a convertible means I get a great view of the interior to be able to compare it with mine:

Next is the Scorpio. I really rate these early Paul's Model Art Minichamps from the mid 1990s. I always felt the dashboard detail was above and beyond. It's just like a big MK4 Fiesta in there.

My dad was looking for a new car in 1996 and he obviously considered the Scorpio as I found this brochure in my collection. I wasn't sure if I had one but my spidey-senses said yes (they also tell me I have a Majorette Peugeot 205 CJ but thats not crystallised yet!)

@DatsuncogOut of interest, those Oxford models, how much would a minty one go for?

I've an interest in a Jensen Interceptor and have no idea how much to pay.

For a MiB Oxford Jensen I would say £20-£25.

Thank you both. I know Datsuncog has one.
I need to make a collection of cars I'd love to own, but could a) never afford one and b) never afford to keep the bloody thing on the road.
So Lancia Delta, Jensen Interceptor, P1800, 60s Mustang, Hakosuka GTR etc.

Sometimes Maisto just gets it absolutely bang on. Or a lot banger-on than they really needed to, given the pretty modest price points their models commanded. Okay, not super-fine in terms of detail, but in terms of rightness and observation, they're terrific.

Lovely model, that. I have one, alas one evening I ended up playing around trying to swap the wheels onto my Argentinian partwork 1:43 Sierra Ghia, and one of the Scorpio's wheels have been absent ever since. I'm a dolt.

I'd really like to have the saloon version, too.

Funny you should say that...

Right, currently back at my desk and attempting to edit a load of photos while simultaneously cramming my gullet with a chicken tikka wrap.
