Tim you really spoiled us today! Some cracking Tat there, if your fondling/buyers remorse over a Nescafé Sierra you know who to call 😉

Funny you should say that...

😜

Right, currently back at my desk and attempting to edit a load of photos while simultaneously cramming my gullet with a chicken tikka wrap.

The Fisherman Bird - Pelican - Facts For Kids, Wild Life & Nature - Kinooze

Fortunately the office is empty, and there's no-one around to witness my multiple shames.

Some good finds at the lunchtime market - I think there'll be some happy campers!

Ohh Corgi Firebird, didn't spot that on the aerial attack table shot

With screen as well, it has the red wheel centre bushes?  Colour me interested if so

I love the look of the Lotus and what is the silver convertible thing on the left? looks interesting

Oh, there's a few surprises to come!

As I learned the hard way, taking pics of the stall first leaves one at heightened risk of yoinking... so now I tend to snaffle the ones I'm after first and then engage in a leisurely photography shoot after.

Yup, a Firebird... but it's not a Red Spot.

It's on teledial Whizzwheels which, oddly, seem to be less common than the Red Spots - going by a single cursory eBay search, anyway.

But it's complete bar a headlight jewel and some mild paint loss to the doors.

It is! The 'Nescafé Competition 1984' car - and I've still no clue what that's about.

Right then, so where were we?

Ah yes, back here again, fighting our way through hoardes of shuffling tourists to score some treasure...

The table was a little bit depleted, it has to be said.

It was lucky no-one was dead-set on the Bburago 1/32 Capri, as it was gone.

Sadly, so were most of the Superkings Sierra Cosworths - the only one left had endured a bit of a chewing to its arse end.

1926731916_IMG_20230609_1218192.thumb.jpg.00fb83a16caa4d88782f8d360cea79cd.jpg

So I left it - but now I know you folks are keen to find some, I'll bear that in mind for future events!

The Vanguards etc were now out on the stall:

Police Jags seemed to be all that were left - the white one was goneski. And at £5, I can see why.

A Wiking coach landed smack on the table while I was taking pics. Dunno if Market Blokey lobbed it or a seagull dropped it (there's an ongoing issue of seagulls inside the covered market, which as you can imagine the food stalls aren't crazy about).

£10 on it.

More weird bus action - a Corgi OOC 'Millenium Edition' Plaxton.

Is that... James Bond, rather than Graham Hill?

Could, erm, maybe do with a wee valet in there. Didn't think Bond would be such a mucky pup with his white vinyl interior.

Weird trip, man.

I've never seen these Bburagos unboxed before.

Not cheap at £20, but I daresay someone'll have it.

So, that being concluded - and with a promise of "more really good stuff next week" - I headed off...

Charity Blokey was busy packing his stall up, so I was unable to check his dynamic pricing strategies further.

Alan did indeed have the 50p tray up and running, but there was nothing to cause a stirring in my loins.

1345050384_IMG_20230609_1240312.thumb.jpg.e04162691a157c246ec3cfa899b105eb.jpg

I left the market, then went and picked up a shoe repair before taking a quick spin through Poundstretcher (still loads of Matchbox Working Rigs for £3 - but only the one I paid £6 for, naturally); The Entertainer (more Hitch & Haul at £4 back on the shelves, but still no Jeep camping horror sets); B&M (no new Hot Wheels or any Matchbox - no Ultra Hots either) and two branches of Poundland (no 2021 case Matchbox, and no new Hot Wheels either).

1998502826_IMG_20230609_1325072.thumb.jpg.96c58dfb5aefd6a27c46e9c9ab3b1219.jpg

My view of the Poundland pegs were compromised by a wailing infant called Cooper in a buggy, whose grandmother (?) seemed to think that he was in a competent emotional state to select a specific Hot Wheels model which would pacify him.

This involved taking every Hot Wheels and Matchbox model off the pegs and proffering it up to him.

Do you want a wee bus, Cooper?

**Shrieks**

Do you want a wee Jeep, Cooper?

**Yells**

Do you want a wee fire engine Cooper?

**Obscene howls of the damned**

C'mon Cooper, I've to go and pay for these! We can't be here all day! Do you want a wee lorry?

****Noises you'd normally only hear when pressed up against the speakers at the climax of a Finnish black metal concert***

I did feel almost like sidling up and saying, "you do realise, ma'am, that these really aren't intended for children?"

Are you pogonophobic? Oxford Dictionary keeps finger on youth culture pulse with new words

But I didn't.

In the end Cooper and Cooper's granny left with a tractor.

I could still hear him roaring at the far end of the mall while I was leaving. out the front.

AEC secured for £5 - and, oddly, seems that Britbus were a Hong Kong company making models of British buses, at around the same time Corgi were making models of Hong Kong buses.

Go figure.

Now for the wildcards...

This was one of the first items to catch my eye in the spanking new Tat Box.

1179346098_IMG_20230609_1519072.thumb.jpg.ee63303cb50de8393bcc189a4fac035c.jpg

This is one of those models developed at the tail end of the Universal ownership era that never seemed to get proper distribution, and hence seems quite rare - the Suzuki SJ is another of those models.

I've only seen one before, but it was pretty worn - and was the Harley Davidson branded one, with horrid silver windows.

This is really clean, though. Only sold for one year, I believe.

1978776527_IMG_20230609_1519462.thumb.jpg.30876528c78e905a09f91ae979079964.jpg

And the tailgate goes up and down!

It would originally have been paired with a little three-wheel ATV thingy, but that seems to have vanished.
