Oh, there's a few surprises to come!

As I learned the hard way, taking pics of the stall first leaves one at heightened risk of yoinking... so now I tend to snaffle the ones I'm after first and then engage in a leisurely photography shoot after.

Yup, a Firebird... but it's not a Red Spot.

It's on teledial Whizzwheels which, oddly, seem to be less common than the Red Spots - going by a single cursory eBay search, anyway.

But it's complete bar a headlight jewel and some mild paint loss to the doors.

The table was a little bit depleted, it has to be said.

It was lucky no-one was dead-set on the Bburago 1/32 Capri, as it was gone.

Sadly, so were most of the Superkings Sierra Cosworths - the only one left had endured a bit of a chewing to its arse end.

So I left it - but now I know you folks are keen to find some, I'll bear that in mind for future events!

The Vanguards etc were now out on the stall:

Police Jags seemed to be all that were left - the white one was goneski. And at £5, I can see why.

A Wiking coach landed smack on the table while I was taking pics. Dunno if Market Blokey lobbed it or a seagull dropped it (there's an ongoing issue of seagulls inside the covered market, which as you can imagine the food stalls aren't crazy about).

This big plastic no-name friction drive Greyhound bus was back - hadn't noticed it earlier.

£10 on it.

More weird bus action - a Corgi OOC 'Millenium Edition' Plaxton.

Charity Blokey was busy packing his stall up, so I was unable to check his dynamic pricing strategies further.

Alan did indeed have the 50p tray up and running, but there was nothing to cause a stirring in my loins.

I left the market, then went and picked up a shoe repair before taking a quick spin through Poundstretcher (still loads of Matchbox Working Rigs for £3 - but only the one I paid £6 for, naturally); The Entertainer (more Hitch & Haul at £4 back on the shelves, but still no Jeep camping horror sets); B&M (no new Hot Wheels or any Matchbox - no Ultra Hots either) and two branches of Poundland (no 2021 case Matchbox, and no new Hot Wheels either).

My view of the Poundland pegs were compromised by a wailing infant called Cooper in a buggy, whose grandmother (?) seemed to think that he was in a competent emotional state to select a specific Hot Wheels model which would pacify him. 

This involved taking every Hot Wheels and Matchbox model off the pegs and proffering it up to him.

Do you want a wee bus, Cooper?

Now secured - and I think you jumped in first with your request for this one! One wiper missing, and there's a loose seat inside.

May* smell lightly of chicken tikka.

Very blank base. But screwed together, so seat fixing should be very doable.

And that's a helluva squint on that headlight...

So all in all - quite a decent haul!

Tat Friday has reminded me to take a decision about this @Datsuncogfind from 2021(?), decided not to restore, just nuln oil and brush up the wheels, dust the interior and chrome pen the headlights, and display it with its playwear.

There is, unfortunately, a bit of a crack in the windscreen.

And the bucket platform may have had someone step on it in the dark.

But overall, it's not bad for £5, you'll hopefully agree?

Think it's had replacement tyres at some point, as these look a bit small!

Now for the wildcards...

This was one of the first items to catch my eye in the spanking new Tat Box.

Crumbs. A K-171 Matchbox Super Kings Toyota Hilux.

This is one of those models developed at the tail end of the Universal ownership era that never seemed to get proper distribution, and hence seems quite rare - the Suzuki SJ is another of those models.

I've only seen one before, but it was pretty worn - and was the Harley Davidson branded one, with horrid silver windows.

This is really clean, though. Only sold for one year, I believe.

Very boingy suspension.

And the tailgate goes up and down!

It would originally have been paired with a little three-wheel ATV thingy, but that seems to have vanished.

It hasn't seen much play in its thirty-odd years.

As the eBay cowboys say - FIND ANOTHER.

Chance of a lifetime to snaffle this for only the fiver paid.

Escort is a wreck but the chassis is probably* worth a tenner from me as it's the wheelbase I need for the other Airfix Morris Marina kit shell
