Do they still drink pints of half beer / half coca cola? Woolworths in Germany sold them in cans!

Sorry to disappoint you Sierraman, but the fact is that these are not charities but professional trading arms of a charity. The manager of the shop is a well paid employee of the company which runs the shop and is expected to produce a high profit in the shop. It is only after staff costs, expenses, rates and any other costs are deducted, that any "profit" is passed to the charity. The charity may benefit in the long run, but the shop's sole purpose is to make money like any other high street store.

FSO Polonez In the early 80's I seem to recall FSO showrooms appearing everywhere and there must have been quite some marketing to try and shift them. The nearest I got was going to a showroom to view one but walking away with my money and my dignity.

I had my Leganza for 17 years and was reluctant to part with it as it had been in the family longer than the wife! It never answered back and never disagreed with my choice of music. I sold it on here via @rob88h and @erebus was I hope very satisified winning it.

Just back from the Philippines where I picked up these lovely items. I don't know if the models differ over there from what we get, but if any of these tickle your fancy please let me know. With exchange rates etc I think they work out at £2.50 each.
