Picked up a couple of newer Hot Wheels while at the shops. Nothing much out there at the mo. Resigned to the fact I've had it with the red Escort now...

Nice colour on the Porker and on this. Nice tampo printing too, love the little Demon logo,

As far as electric cars go, I quite like these Jags, Would have preferred it in non-race trim, but the carbon effect livery is quite funky.

While at B&M, found these, IMG_20230507_123044.thumb.jpg.fa9f390dac37ab9104510a646e47f2d6.jpg

Been slowly collecting these since I found the Escort a good few weeks ago. They're still a good few quid cheaper at B&M than on the Hot Wheels FB pages,

Not strictly my bag usually, but these F&F are pretty well detailed, I think it's meant to be a gas turbine shoved in the back of this one

Back of the Jeep features stuff,

IMG_20230507_132235.thumb.jpg.393570fcd2711cf18667f3cfa817f2d5.jpg

So, despite not being a completist, that makes all ten of these now. Probably one of the more shit investments I've made, but I was glad to get the Escort the Challenger and the JDM stuff.

I went to a car boot sale this morning and amongst a lot of “I know what it’s worth, I’ve looked on eBay” shit. A Humbrolled Whizzwheels Transit camper with no back door for £5, anyone? I came away with these two for a fiver, my first Lone Star,I remember the brand when I was a kid for cowboy guns etc.

I’d have been happy with the 300SL for £5 so the Lone Star is effectively free.

That one top right first tray is the Matchbox Powertrack Porsche 911 slot car.  If that was really £9, then does that mean all the Lone Stars in that tray were similar or less?  Surely not.  The Jaguar and Zodiac look repainted, but still

Nice one on the Polistil Mini @bunglebus. There were 2 at the toy fair yesterday but I already have one and they were very salty, although boxed. I'm the only weirdo in Scotland that seems to collect them so they can't be worth a great deal!

No Polistil or Majorette releases, surprisingly...   seems quite odd Majorette couldn't/wouldn't produce one, after all they got the Bagheera

Todays haul, as usual some crazy prices out there and grubby toys, as well as some buried grubby bargains - I’m sure sometimes toys, I mean scale diecasts get put back in the wrong trays and the grumpy giffers don't notice week on week. Their loss! Its suprising what a rummage finds! Saying that I reckon a third of the stalls have people like us who just love cars, trains and bikes and its always great to chat 👍 Even if your skint, head over to a fair, go in an hour after its opened (hoards of piss smelling weirdos have shuffled off by then, at least I’m a showered weirdo) and shoot the breeze about toys  - its really therapeutic.

First off the £2 (!). Selection, all of which had broken suspension, probably why they were £2! All Corgi’s

IMG_2422.thumb.jpeg.e9da153022d0dc8eff0e06ff8c7acaf1.jpeg

Then the £3 selection, I quite enjoyed both these despite being a diversion from my usual purchases! The Peugeot 406 Elixer concept is Norev, the Sintra Schuco. Both are really quite shitetastic.

IMG_2424.thumb.jpeg.9d03b78d360b54f4951ce9ba55bb7103.jpeg

Finally these two beautifull Corgis from the £5 pile. The Tornado only has 3 out of 4 correct wheels, but barring that is lovely. The Corgi 241 Ghia is beautiful colour and really is an impressive piece of toy design from the 60’s. Separate door cards, dash instrument sticker, painted lights etc, It would be impressive now. I think I scored well getting it for a £5! I have a blue one, a gold one next I reckon!

Bargains!  Especially those Corgis.  Scarce colour that Toronado, I know I couldn't have left it there at that money.

I have a couple of odd Jacks wheels, will look which style they are.

The Ghia was an odd choice for a UK manufacturer, considering what they didn't model instead.  Glad they did though and seems to have sold well.  Still, odd choice as only 6 real ones were built

Discount the modern models as I'm not a fan of those, does that just leave me with Siku, Mebetoys and Joustra ones (l literally hate you for this 😂)

There were a lot of repaints in there. The guy was fair with his prices I think, he had some lovely temptations such as a Marklin split bus, but in the end I took just three cars. This was possibly the best one - a Siku type 3 Karmann Ghia

Maybe a repaint going by the rivets, and not cheap at £10 - but find another for that price

Other Volkswagen niceties include a Matchbox with one of its doors and good glass for a quid

20230507_182014.thumb.jpg.3b3c41158a3457d6e69500beb4fc0bf2.jpg

These were my other buys from the guy with the good stuff. You might have noticed in the pics he had the Volvo/Datsun pair, but I'd already bought the other two he had by that point. Still on the lookout for a minty black base Datsun like my original - but until today I didn't know the Volvo had black and white bases too

And wouldn't you know it, the flippin' interior is orange rather than red. I'm never going to get the door card I need to finish my resto...

In the mean time I shall seek solace in this Polistil Mini, which has somehow bucked the trend and retained all of its bits other than one headlight

Nice one on the Polistil Mini @bunglebus. There were 2 at the toy fair yesterday but I already have one and they were very salty, although boxed. I'm the only weirdo in Scotland that seems to collect them so they can't be worth a great deal!

£4 didn't seem excessive to me?

Trailer is from the set paired with the Dodge K-series Cattle Truck, but only with white stake bed and Black bulls!

The Dodge only in red with white stake bed (and black cows) in the Two-Pack set.  Let me guess, you have the exact match in-stock

No! It was in a very good 50p box and struck me as unusual. There were so many in there I wanted to rescue.

Think I need to take a Securicor van with me next time for extra cash

Be quick! 99p ends 20 mins time but has plenty other items to help the postage burn

You shouldn't show me these things after I've been on the beer

I found out via a Reddit post that the Moving Parts Morris comes in left and RHD - and by pure fluke I've ended up with both

I've started a list.  It's called 'Split-Pin's Rancho scale model collection tick-list'  😊😆

No Polistil or Majorette releases, surprisingly...   seems quite odd Majorette couldn't/wouldn't produce one, after all they got the Bagheera

How many of them can be seen here? These were at the Matra Museum in 2015:

And the Joustra jobbie is my photo, I saw it at a boot sale the morning before we went to the museum. Don't know why I didn't buy it....

Picked up a couple of newer Hot Wheels while at the shops. Nothing much out there at the mo. Resigned to the fact I've had it with the red Escort now...

Yeah, current selection I've seen in several stores is rather uninspiring.

I have a spare red RS2000 if you're interested?

Yes it is your photo, it is using the original posting link, from this very thread.  You regretted it then too!

Will give it a go...

Bottom row: big Bburagos.  Look at the size of them

One up from bottom: Corgis.

One up again: Solidos, along with a brown Mebetoys one at back right with shite wheels and no roof decoration, the cheapskates

Top row: Matchboxes, mixed with a lone red/orange Siku far right and a lone white Corgi Junior from the BP promotion (apparently the only Corgi ever stamped England not Gt Britain)

2nd row: [left them for someone else as reminders of the sad tale of my ownership of an Avantime needs avoiding]

I try and live a life without too many regrets, but clearly I do have one or two.....

On the subject of which, I was at home doing DIY yesterday thinking that somewhere there was a local-ish toy fair I could have gone too. Maybe there was, but there's certainly one at Ipswich next Sunday so I'll try and make it to that one.

Recently got this gem amongst a few other kit purchases:

IMG_4579.thumb.JPG.209dafd8b75bde1e7b7df442ba25d378.JPG

Rebox of an MPC kit. Will go nicely with the Ford EXP and '80s Chargers I have (and Monogram's Citation, if you promise not to notice that the latter is 1:24).

There has to be a way of making it look better than the box art. I shan't be using the sidepipes and I'll make sure whatever wheels I have fit in the arches a little better than they managed. It has some separate wide arches, window louvres etc.
