Shite in Miniature II

The Rolls Royce Corniche exists in both 1/43 and 1/36 by Corgi, except that when it was 1/43 it was called a Silver Shadow by HJ Mulliner Park Ward, which probably took up too much space on the box.  I'm not aware of it offered as a Bentley in the smaller size, only in the 1/36.  I have a 1/43 with Golden Jacks, and a 1/36 which of course doesn't have them.  I've restored both.

Dinky, meanwhile, went the 4-door route with their Silver Shadow, in approximately 1/43; now that I have a Shadow II from the Bond partwork series I'd quite like to have a Dinky to compare against it!

So, labels and jellyspoons, Mebetoys Simca 1308 - leave as a stock resto or go mad with the 2" brush doing the details?

How much were they asking can you recall? The Franklins seem to have a stigma attached, not sure why, but I do know that bits fall off even if you just glance at them

Anyway, I'd like a Franklin Corniche if it was near enough complete and under a tenner

The Rolls Mulliner was the Golden Jack car (No. 273),

and then went on to be a WhizzWheels car (No. 280).

that came in silver with gold trim and blue.

Also the pink Bentley T used the same smaller casting (No, 274)

The larger version, R-R Corniche came in various colours and was renumbered as time went on. (No. 279)

Some good news on the HW Flying Customs front...

1747992708_IMG_20230403_1600182.thumb.jpg.b75c60072f871b08c6c43e42598692b6.jpg

Swung past the Newtownabbey branch of B&M today while picking up some plumbing stuff from Screwfix - they now had three pegs crammed with the buggers, plus more shoved up on top.

There was a Firebird right at the front, giving me the final one needed to complete the eight models of this release series.

So that's a full house now for @bunglebus...

Seems to be some weird distribution thing going on, as this store has tons of this range but I haven't seen them in any other branches at all... it's quite a big store, but not one of the huge ones.

Awesome!

I've added detail to the lights and handles on the Simca,  it should have chrome around all the windows but I've yet to see anyone paint trim like that and it not look cack.

Quite like that open roof one. Only place I've seen Majorette lately is our local Asda, but they only ever have buses,  trucks,  those twin sets with Land Rovers & trailers and 5 packs of cars. They have a 5 pack with that Fiat, the new shape Audi A1 and the Hyundai i30 N in that I've had my eye on. They reduced the packs to £8 last week but so far I've resisted...

Weekend sweep of B&M revealed nothing new really. Fresh stocks of that bloody Hot Wheels case with the Volvo gasser and the blue Toyota van, clipstrips of late 2022 Matchbox  and no fresh Flying Customs so I'm still 25% short of the set!

A few more of the F&F Hot Wheels but mostly the two silly Dodge Charger variants and the Jeep Renegade. Obviously the scalping twats have been at the Eclipse, Supra and Silvias. (TBH how the hell I found an Escort I have no idea). Already the Hot Wheels pages on FB are full of them asking £7 or £8 a pop.

I did find the modern Charger Hellcat, I quite like that one, so I nabbed it.

If you let me know which two you're missing, I can check next time I'm in and (if successful) add them to your box - there must have been about 40 of the Flying Customs on the pegs in my nearest branch this afternoon...

Sure thing! Will check later on... I'm hopeful there'll be a full set scattered across the pegs, but is it a case of 'all or none' - would you still be interested in six or seven of them if not quite all are available?
