Suflippingperb! Nicely snatched the man Cog! Thank you.

I think I better settle my account for now; I admit to having deliberately left it for just.....one.....more......market......visit, and it's not really fair to have my clutter building up in your house as well as mine!

Ok then - where are we?

Sadly, the Corgi CMB double-axle had already been swiped in the interim - but one of the CMB Victories was still there, as was the OOC LT National, so I nabbed them while I had the chance, at £5 a pop.

Shaping up to be a decent little parcel for you!

The Maidstone & District Leopard was gone, but the Wallace Arnold/ Evan Evans example was still on the table...

Looks really nice!

Well, it seems to be all complete...

I'm not sure exactly what these came with when new, but all four ramps and both header boards seem to be present...

Hope this is decent enough for you, dude! Not a minter - but looks like it'll display nicely.

The best bit: since I was buying it with the three buses, he only charged me £20 all-in. So this'll only cost a fiver + post.

Yep, that's the very one - I had a cursory look this morning and dimly registered the W-suffix numberplate, but didn't give it too much thought. A closer look at the model and the box shows the full story:

Excellent!

Sadly the Arriva-liveried Olympian in the Royal Mail box was also already sold - sorry about that!

Heh, saw your message just in the nick of time and trotted back... although the box had been fairly well picked over, those three were still in there.

I've had a look on the Matchbox Wiki pages for that pink No.58 Woosh-N-Push - but strangely, it's not listed. It shows a maroon version with the No.8 sticker, which was apparently the final incarnation of this casting for 1976 only, but it deffo isn't pink like this.

WOOSH-N-PUSH_29.thumb.png.b7b5d88ffe3210a800278c83cd960d76.png

One for looking up later, I think!

Oh, and on opening my desk earlier I found all these from a fortnight ago:

1278839503_IMG_20221014_1327522.thumb.jpg.dae9799ea76eb64171c49bf3ff3412c5.jpg

You'd mentioned an interest in the bird-splat Supra, but they're all yours if you fancy them. I really won't do anything with them, they just tickled me when I saw them.

Ah, I had a feeling I hadn't seen one in that colour before - cheers!

If it hadn't had broken glazing as well as wonky wheels, then I might have considered it... There was a standard pink version in there too, but it wasn't a whole heap better, really.

So there we are... Another Friday.

And I bought myself some... vacuum bags.

1049267096_IMG_20221014_1310152.thumb.jpg.4d66acc8f05a3ed1d70f3eb6d0c28b17.jpg

Which was actually the most expensive item I bought today, at £6.

Yeah, I know...

Well, okay - I did pluck these out for myself.

2082518227_IMG_20221014_1210202.thumb.jpg.767321353ed795f980e2bc2236cf58fd.jpg

I had both of these as a kid, and they ended up completely trashed and eventually disposed of - this pair are very clean, and I think will make worthy examples for the toybox collection.

So - that's it!

Happy Friday, kids.

Superb Tim thanks so much, I'll be in touch later today as I know you are busy at work and with house renovations at the moment.  The BT Duple Dominant is one I have been after for years but they're still kinda pricey for what they are and I hadn't forked out. So its great to finally find one at a good price!

The colour is often referred to a Magenta. Varies in value from £10 to £40when boxedspacer.png

Some other variations

Here's a little puzzle for all you Corgi spotters out there.

Here we have two Corgi 339 Mini Coopers.

They look much the same until you look closely at the front ends and notice one has the Morris casting

and the other has the Austin casting

Cool; like a lot of the lacquer-based finishes, there seems to be a fair amount of colour variation between batches. The one I've found today must be just a bit pinker than some others.

Still digging the incongurous Austin Maxi front end on these, even though I'm not that into Superfast fantasy models in a general way.

Heh, not a bother - at the minute they're being stored in my desk drawer, as bringing them home could be considered an unwise move... I didn't strictly intend to be in today, but the rota got shifted - and I'll also be in next Friday for some big meeting in the afternoon, so it's up to you; I don't mind hanging on for another week in case any more items of interest show up!

Yeah, it seems a great wee model - it's pretty lightweight but the shape and paintwork's nice, so I can see why you were after one! Definitely good value at that price, too.

No rush, again these are being cached in a locked desk pedestal so they'll not be going anywhere. I'll have to start setting some boxes aside here...

No bother! It's a great model, and not one I was aware of - I'll have a flick through my early-80s Siku catalogues later and see if I can find out what else came in the set when new.

As an aside, I still have a sealed Hot Wheels Volvo 240 drift wagon looking for a new home, should anyone wish to add it to their order for £1.50?

Hah, he did have one of those on the stall, once! Way back in 2018 when I just used to mosey through the market with no thought of taking pics or anything; I picked it up to look at as I'd never seen an orange one with 'Jaffa Mobile' stickers before. Think he was looking £2 for it.

Ah, regrets...

Now I think about it, didn't someone on here pick up a Jaffa Mobile Soopa Coopa as part of a joblot the other week?

I'd seen a picture of that one but thought it must be a pre-pro or something. So both the Tyre Fryer and Soopa Coopa both came in Jaffa livery?

I'm sure @Spottedlaurelwould laugh his tits off at my efforts, but considering this was at least 30 years ago I don't think I did a bad job. A 57 Chevy and Sierra Cosworth have given up various parts, and the body's channelled over the base for some lows. Obviously the lights and wipers have gone AWOL as was the way with every plastic kit I ever built.

Nice one! It bought a smile to my day, but in a good way. I like your build, although I am mildly concerned as to what the driver does with their feet.....

It looks like a Taylor and Barrett fire engine similar to the one in the links.  I think it may have had its wheels replaced with Dinky/Tootsie toy rubber tyres wheels (Edit: unless the item in the link has had its original wheels replaced, as the listing refers to rubber tyres). It was produced from 1930-39.

Further info.

Thanks Ray, I immediately thought it was Dinky as some of the other stuff I've got seems to be (on eBay now folks!) but yep, definitely T & B.

If anyone's interested I'm selling a lot of stuff, including die casts, https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/capri4evar/m.html?item=295261736074&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2562

Can you find the box?  Seems to be a pricey piece in mint condition with box.  Yours must be worth at least a few hundred on a good day. (see additional link in my previous post)

No box unfortunately, think it was my late Grandad's. He gave me the Dinky Dunlop Tyres bus (listed on ebay) and this years ago - like 30? when he moved in with his (now late) wife!

Longbridge Jr was given a box of cars by a friend recently. In amongst the modern rubbish is this gem - a late 70s HW. A quick look around the interwebz suggests it may have not been sold on these shores? Interesting that 'Hong Kong' has been removed from the base too...
