That's crazy 😂

I've got a few of the Red Cross version, plus these20220317_194508.thumb.jpg.769015de449a523b39be72ed09351c1c.jpg

Also, this one I painted as a Banger a few years back, and the green copy which is slightly smaller20220317_194528.thumb.jpg.9cfbdfaf3ea599ff5c2955c5a0ce14f0.jpg

There's the Dempsey & Make peace version too,but no idea where that is

Wow, I've only got the blue MC with GRANADA graphics that Amishtat found a while back, they aren't easy to find. That green one was also discussed on FB, and may predate the Maisto/MC (which are originally the Rainbow Toys Dempsey and Makepeace casting). It would be interesting to see the green one (a Yatming it's thought) alongside an MC/Maisto.

Other versions include white with green crosses, and a pink/red version - a colour changer! I believe your dark green (which appears to have the Rainbow Toys style wheels) is also one of these. It changes to yellow. Lastly, a police car

I have tried removing the black but whatever Junior used is tough stuff.

Next is a new brand on me, a Conrad Polo in 1:43 scale

Fiddling about with a few cars in the outhouse, I got this nice Husky T1 platform truck recently but the front of the base was broken so no bumper

Found a donor with broken off suspension tabs, a bit of precision* chopping and gluing and Bob's your uncle

Ooh, that Polo's nice!

I've got a Conrad or two but they're mostly direct copies of Gama models. In fact, I think a boxed Gama Passat had Conrad stamped on the base, so they're copies of each other but not sure which came first.

Nice castings, though.

That Dublo one must be quite unusual, it's normally only the Morris van and pickup or the VW split screen I ever see for sale.

Land Rover seem to be quite well represented in die cast, I'm sure I have or had quite a few - Corgi Juniors for one

I picked up this little Lesney 'Players' No5 red bus amongst a larger haul a while ago. I'd not really given it a second thought until reading more about the history of Lesney Matchbox in a book kindly received from @Datsuncoga couple of months back.

Does anyone know a bit more about this model? I'm trying to put a rough year on it and am assuming 1950s. I wonder if it's earlier though? The axles are crimped at one end- when did Lesney stop doing this? I'm guessing value is minimal as it was sold in droves and is fairly playworn.

Any ideas?

You've got to love the cigarette advertising on a child's toy.

Couldn't get away with that now 🤣

I believe that's a 5b the "second bus", 1957-60.

These early Lesneys are charming little things

Fascinating link, thanks. It looks like mine was produced in the middle of that run owing to its domed/crimped axles and grey plastic wheels. Oddly though, it doesn't have a triangular casting on the inside of the base and the grille has no sign of having ever being painted. Weird!

^ they were pretty much hand-made back then so there were lots of errors, irregularities and oddities.

When is a Corgi not a Corgi?

When it's a Hot Wheels.  Just picked these up locally in a small lot, also including:

Even the paper number plates, tax disc and GB badge present and correct.

These are getting quite sought after and I didn't have a stock one in my collection. I'd like the race support one to replace my childhood one, I still have the 240Z that came with it in the set

It’s amazing how a so-so corgi junior can look good with a smart livery - the Shell livery on the Sierra works very well.

Another Japanese import landed in the workshop today….

Quite a smart little Tomica, if underwheeled as is usual. The Toyota tampo prints on each end are incredibly fine. All it’s missing is mirrors. As usual bought for buttons, (and touch wood import duty free) from Plaza.

The quest to find cheap redlines continues, Junior has got at this one with his paintbrush

The Python was supposed to be called "Cheetah" and a few red examples escaped bearing that name, but this is a Python. You can see where the base was changed to update the name prior to release in 1968

My last order had RC bits as well, came in a biscuit tin sized card box box, and that was only £11? It was by cheapest method. Ive just logged in and it’s giving now me £19 too???

Maybe the cheap post is out the window temporarily 🤬

Master Grogee (7) has expressed an interest in a 2022 F1 car model. It's his birthday next month so I'd like to find one if I can.

Early days for the new cars but do any of you die-cast nerds know of anything affordable?

The Lego McLaren doesn't count as 'affordable'.

I've got one of those that I repainted years ago.  I actually did quite a good job too, in as near as I could get to the original colours, so I'm actually not inclined to re do it.  I also have a couple of Vanguards versions which seem so much sleeker than the Corgi.

The Kadett and the Range Rover are a definite must have.

Interesting that Hot Wheels have brought those wheels they did everything in during the 1990’s. Matchbox did Superfast Wheels again years ago but can never seem to find them.
