Talking of casting variations on the VW, I've kept this tatty pair for ages thinking they were different for having no rally plate at all

Looking through diecast on FB Marketplace late at night,& I nearly missed the large Matchbox Jag & Porsche in this lot(seller's photo)20260415_175117.jpg.6b390ecdf8c9e41c664a8edab0ab9af8.jpg

Collected them on my way home today. They're larger versions of the 1/64 World Class models, with better wheels & tyres, more interior detail,& nicer paint.Hard to see,but the Porsche is a pearl white20260415_175743.jpg.81cb52af828bbdfc195b7fef2cd91a14.jpg

I guess the Jag was a Kit Kat promotion but not sure about the Porsche

Also in there was this Dinky Guy truck & Realtoy Porsche,I'm keeping both of them20260415_175917.jpg.202159a61a96ee8af46dec79de089ff9.jpg

Everything else will be up for grabs,so let me know if there's anything you fancy

After all the recent horror stories of poor packaging, is there anything more reassuring than opening up a parcel and seeing something like this inside...

I'll update once I've unwrapped them all

Mine's a bit tatty TBH. The Porsche is lovely, one to look out for

I'm pretty sure I sent my 'spares car' SM to somebody on here a year or so back, complete with tailgate (but not glass) so I suspect there is a spare tailgate available on this forum... my terrible memory won't say where though. Equally, there's a chance I still have it and therefore can send it your way if desired! (if I could find it)

Not sure how I found it so easily, but I did. Any good to you @bunglebus?

Right, despite basically not buying toy cars any more I couldn't resist this job lot of oddball European stuff for what seemed to me a very reasonable £50. These are the 'dull' bits to start

20260415_210756.jpg.d7a0cc2fa621dd427641859bea609f79.jpg

Norev Visa – I'm sure I have one of these somewhere os this is very much surplus to requirements if anyone wants it

20260415_210809.jpg.932379d3198ca44ca94d24e8a759f814.jpg

I thought this Norev GS would be for the chop but actually it's quite charming, with four opening doors and particularly smooth, Citroen-like suspension

20260415_210841.jpg.9dacf45fcd33e1240c59842f8543507b.jpg

I've never closely looked at one of these late Politoys/Polistil Alfasuds before, but it's a crude old thing really. I don't think I particularly need this one, if anyone is desperate to have it

20260415_210852.jpg.4836c493036641858265b56f1933dbff.jpg

Unusual olive drab colour on this late 126. Unusual, too, the bumpers haven't entirely disappeared. Shame the paint is a bit tatty

20260415_210908.jpg.78d002f051456ef39d279ca86cb708e8.jpg

This one is near-mint, on the other hand, but fairly charmless. It's a late Mercury 131, with plastic base and no suspension and feeling awfully flimsy, but it can stay for now.

Next is the Politoys M-series Lamborghini Jarama (M25 t be exact). This was the early-70s range which was a cut above the 'Export' range but still significantly simpler than the old M-series of the 1960s

20260415_210921.jpg.f006788777383a76e3d80775532d236d.jpg

For some reason the Jarama always had contrasting bonnet and bootlid, which I think looks a bit shit and certainly not correct for the real thing. It's fairly well-detailed, though, and the overall shape is pretty accurate. not something I'd seek out but nice as part of a lot.

20260415_211122.jpg.ccf2f7e0a97d806c6fcbf55c26af6ed5.jpg

I have a few of these packed away but always nice to see. The Alfa 2600 is one of the nicest Politoys there is and the one that first got me into this manufacturer. Will probably be up for grabs at some point

20260415_211132.jpg.1dd416ee4f66ce6aa93cbc3cdd591a97.jpg

20260415_211142.jpg.329dbc13e3b211cadfe17b79654e5b14.jpg

20260415_211200.jpg.2a71036592d2ac9cd4125d817213d891.jpg

This is a proper rarity: the Mercury Ferves Ranger. a mad little Fiat 500-engined 'off-roader' with 4wd, built in tiny numbers in the 1960s. Even in poor shape these (toys) aren't particularly cheap, so this was a nice addition although it's not something I'd necessarily seek out

Here's the proper stuff

20260415_211037.jpg.25f3e6ba980de0f3b9cba2bb6fdab79a.jpg

Apologies for the 'big light' on here, which doesn't really show up the colour very well, which is in fact a very pale milky yellow

20260415_211111.jpg.4499d7d278767baf9afb8c7ab797102c.jpg

20260415_211100.jpg.1fd922a57fcde58ecd3eb4a5fdd2f193.jpg

Politoys M-528 is the Ghia Fiat 1500GT of 1963. This is the kind of weirdo toy that first attracted me to Politoys in the first place, although I'll admit this is one of the least attractive cars they made.

730b0dc9606d6c77a980595f62e9cb0e1a326550

The real thing is no beauty, but the Politoys effort is pretty poor on the whole. Still, this is one I've wanted to add to the non-collection for a long time and this is a nice example, save a bit of paint loss

20260415_210944.jpg.106ad62f40449c8aff4ff6986a15d23d.jpg

Best of all is Politoys M-519, the Ford Taunus 20M

20260415_210958.jpg.47fc6b782d948965d6cec2d881de298f.jpg

For obvious reasons, the Politoys supercars and concepts and sports cars almost certainly sold better than the more cooking everyday cars, and as a consequence it's the humdrum saloons which tend to be the most difficult to find these days

20260415_211215.jpg.a752716291fb1431b013a861cc20058f.jpg

The Taunus is far from the rarest, but it's certainly not easy to find in good shape for a reasonable price, and this was my main reason for buying the lot as I think you could easily pay £50 for this one on its own

20260415_211022.jpg.1591f84b44a871f1cf8b05c3be393e78.jpg

Opening everything of course, and brilliantly-detailed. It's almost perfect condition, too, apart from the cracked windscreen. Very happy with this!

Did a few minor details to it such as adding the black belt around front and rear bumpers and silvering the lights from behind. Plus, the numberplates were on the piss, so they came off, had some double-sided tape stuck on them and carefully reattached to the plate holders.

The front bonnet on mine looks the same as yours, like its had a minor frontal impact.

Got one of these too. Unfortunately, because I can't find it anywhere, I had to purchase it via eBay.

However, I also have an earlier one that I think was supposed to be part of a two-pack or something:

20260416_110520.jpg.14ab7fac6d9c6a55cc6ee333254ebfcd.jpg

What is noticeable on the underside here is, the earlier version doesn't have 'HotWheels' on the base, but does have the fire logo that 'Hotwheels' is usually printed on.

Everything else is there, although one base is clearly painted chrome and the other isn't. But the country of construction has also changed from Thailand to Indonesia.

No, there really are LHD and RHD versions - Castle Court Poundland had about twenty RAV4s on the pegs last Friday - of those, two were fitted with RHD interiors (so like a 90/10 split, from a totally unscientific survey sample of one shop).

I'd heard about this variant on forums and was a bit sceptical too, but it truly is A Thing.

The one I bought at Abbeycentre back in January is, predictably, the common LHD version.

EDIT: should have taken some pics, probably. But if I see another RHD version, I'll grab it!

Well, of course I had to go back. Just to prove to myself that I wasn't hallucinating.

This branch of Poundland is unusually well stocked with Mattel bits and pieces at present:

IMG_20260416_131341.jpg.fd48c37b4d6c7019dbe49c08eceb2bc3.jpg

And it had quite a few RAV4s scattered about the place.

Collected together, they looked like this:

IMG_20260416_1322252.jpg.78458ee822c22410ff609e6f48c92904.jpg

That's seventeen of the little blue contraptions remaining after the weekend - of which four are the apparently less common right hand drive versions:

IMG_20260416_132205.jpg.9009cebd94cfaf65dc8bb26fae54c87b.jpg

Yarrr.

Not the easiest thing to photograph, but I assure you it's the real deal:

IMG_20260416_1322482.jpg.0d94c654f1e7d544fd1f4dc840ebe8ea.jpg

RHD top, LHD below:

IMG_20260416_132258.jpg.e9043ea983c2e99b325a7714f50570bc.jpg

Anyway, I bought one of the four just in case anyone was mad keen on owning this particular variant, which was just as well since it's now been claimed by a thread regular on the WhatsApp group.

Nabbed a few Hot Wheels too - the Datsun 240Z will pair well with the Kenmeri Skyline I picked up last week, while the Cortina and Mini are also spare models, should anyone be super keen to give them a home.

Not arguing for £10.

Anyway. Tooned Batmobile isn't quite as exciting, but having previously got all the others I couldn't leave it behind

I should have got another Willys to play with, if you'll excuse the expression

Found a Simpson car as last thanks to two new ASDA dump bins. 20260413_165851.jpg.9c3f08745fdc41c79aec6c4be6220ca2.jpg20260416_215341.jpg.879273a59987739f3e8ba1561c579ce7.jpg

Barbie van was an odd find in B&M, everything else was from Smyths.

Certainly not something I've stumbled across before.

Lastly, I think I've now cornered the market in Graffic Traffic Challengers, normally quite a hard one to find but this is #5 I believe.

I wonder if there is a market for restored ones, I recently got outbid at over £20 for two loose VW Transporter Ambulances, the GT one and the black Commando version. Both in very good condition with just some stickers on the white GT, and I thought my bid was certain to win

Well, of course I had to go back. Just to prove to myself that I wasn't hallucinating.

This branch of Poundland is unusually well stocked with Mattel bits and pieces at present:

And it had quite a few RAV4s scattered about the place.

Collected together, they looked like this:

That's seventeen of the little blue contraptions remaining after the weekend - of which four are the apparently less common right hand drive versions:

Yarrr.

Not the easiest thing to photograph, but I assure you it's the real deal:

Anyway, I bought one of the four just in case anyone was mad keen on owning this particular variant, which was just as well since it's now been claimed by a thread regular on the WhatsApp group.

Nabbed a few Hot Wheels too - the Datsun 240Z will pair well with the Kenmeri Skyline I picked up last week, while the Cortina and Mini are also spare models, should anyone be super keen to give them a home.

Oh yes, a Mini and Cortina would be good if you still have the spares?
