Damn! Rolled-over to page 2035

Ok…

Welly #2035

Model: Jaguar S-Type MK2.

Scale: 1:64.

I quite like this eye-searing yellow, as it’s a "SUPER RACER" and a bit odd wearing German DEKRA decals

Another that would benefit from the detailing pens

You do have to wonder why anyone would squirrel away a load of cut price, Portuguese Majorettes for years, only for them to end up in a charity shop.

I'm now going to squirrel these away in the loft...

I’ve just bought this job lot mainly for the yellow 205 but looking forward to what’s amongst it all.

I had one of those Espace’s in red. Pretty sure it was involved in an RTA out in the garden where it unfortunately caught fire! Most of it is plastic I think.

Funny you should say that . I don’t think it’s anything to do with environmental things, it’s contamination within the metal mix itself.
You can have identical castings like that, but one will be fine because the actual mix of metal used that particular day was ok. The next batch of metal used in the same casting might have a contaminant in which then causes it to self destruct.
It’s weird how it shows up too, sometimes it happens very quick but other times it can take decades before showing.

There were some batches of Hornby Dublo locomotive chassis that suffered with it but some only started to show signs of it decades after manufacture.
There’s absolutely nothing you can do about it either!

When i moved here , i wrapped up my 80 odd Land Rover models . The military LWB Britains , i wrapped in an unused  prepacked but opened , windscreen wipe that had dried out ..About a year later ,upon unwrapping it ,  that model was all  chewed up on the  paint worn off  raised edges where the wipe had been in contact with it .

I’ve started a couple more of those 3D printed truck conversions recently. Mostly to fill in time between paint & filler etc drying on other projects. Maximum efficiency😄

AEC Mammoth Minor.
Not one of the most common varieties of the Ergomatic family trucks, but were around. Later in life they were very popular as recovery truck conversions being twin steer type chassis. Very stable and manoeuvrable.
The chassis on this one started as an IXO Fiat that had been damaged. Cab was useless to me anyway so I got it cheap.
Battery box & square fuel tank chopped off and will be replaced by a pair of round tanks I’m making up from plastic tube.

Leyland Bison.
The final type of Ergomatic cab (other than the Marathon which was significantly altered from these).
Chassis came from an Altaya Spanish trucks partwork Barreiros tipper. I’m not sure what I’ll put on the back of this one yet.

Both were actually pretty easy to alter to take the replacement cabs. Just a bit of ‘eyeballing’ measuring then chopping bits off as needed.

Found a suitable trailer for the Volvo FH12 too. Just needs repainting as using a Volvo to pull a Pegaso/Seddon Atkinson branded trailer might not be the best advert for them!
I’ll remove the under chassis stowage boxes and replace them with some side guards to make it look more like a UK truck.
