Matchbox Super Kings Dodge Van in Polizei livery

Came with a passenger that I'm pretty sure doesn't belong in there!

Done some miles, going by the tyres

This one's pretty special, Siku VW T2...

Looks fairly normal?

Oh yes, radar control vehicle

Still looks good from the back

However it's missing the sliding door, and the interior looks like there's something missing

I do have one I could sacrifice I suppose

Lastly another VW, Matchbox Across America series Beetle

Started cleaning up my big auction box, and my obvious start point is the Minis.

First is a Corgi 339 Monte Carlo Winner that has lost its paint, tyres and roof rack.

It also has the cast hubs on the roof. This will go to the back of the queue for restoration.

Next we have three modern Corgi issues, which are all different castings.

The best one for proportions is the Cooper. This is the casting that when on to launch a thousand Vanguards.

Then we have one of the many versions of the Mr Bean Minis that Corgi have released. this one is Corgi 61211 that was released in 1998. I have no idea why people ask £25 upwards for a boxed one of these on Ebay because there are thousands of them out there. Perhaps the inflated price is due the the number plate being ACW 497V, which was the identical car that appeared in Back to School Mr. Bean.

Last of the modern Corgis is the basic model that was used in the Fina Petrol Series.

There are four Matchbox Racing Minis

Two red.

One bronze, with extra decal on bonnet.

One orange

Finally we have the Polistil cartoon Mini, that had some negative camber of the front axle.

A quick bit of careful tweaking put the right.

The Polistil Dodge Ambulance I have is almost identical in the details, except it has a tailgate and opening front doors. Both fantastic toys.

The cleaning continues, this time it is Metro Time.

Seven small and one big in the big box.

Some have black detailing on the grille and bumpers

And some do not.

Three racers.

Beige or red interiors in the Datapost cars.

Altogether for the two boxes I have 12 small scale Metros...

which is the same number of colours that the cars were available in when the first came on the market.

All I need now is a bunch of touching pots, and airbrush, a compressor and a couple of weeks and I can do a full colour range of Metros.

Just found a massive tub of Hot Wheels 2 for a £1 in a charity shop but had to shoot off for an eye test. I might pop back but they did seem to be pretty modern and I prefer the older stuff.

The rest of the small stuff from my auction lot.

A busted Matchbox No.2 Jet and a corgi Juniors Police Chopper.

A couple of Tom and Jerry Corgis. One is in good condition.

This is not a Bertone Runabout.

It's Wonder woman out for a bit of a road trip.

Corgi even changed the base, removing the Bertone Runabout and putting DC Comics on instead.

A bunch of busted Matchbox VWs.

I now have two of these with missing right handle bar end.

A heavily over painted Countach. Going by the window colour this probably started life as a Streakers version.

A couple more well used mid 1970s Matchbox

This Dinky was obviously built to fit in a certain size of box, the 296 Viceroy 37.

This one is well used.

Unusual for such a late Dinky to have a tinplate base. It was originally released in 1972.

The scale is close to the Matchbox D-Series Ford Grit Spreader.

which also has lots of flaky paint.

Almost enough to start a business at the local shows with the Refreshmant Van and Ice Cream Van

Finally we have a high roof VW Camper with more flaky paint...

but it does have both doors...

and complete glass.

I sometimes ponder doing a custom or resto on one of those, but now I've noticed how out of whack the side windows are, I don't want to!

The whole thing is a bit of a dogs dinner, especially the raised roof.

The earlier green camper was much better proportioned.

Had a long trip out on Friday, on my travels I picked up this lot:

Most of the mainlines from Tesco and Sainsbury's, and Premiums from Smyths in Wigan. Particularly pleased to get the Land Cruiser, which would have made the ideal tow car for that Supra/trailer set they currently have. The Tacoma and Civic ended up being duplicates....

Just finished cleaning up the last of my auction buys.

Bunch of army stuff from various makers.

Dinky Stalwart with Speedwheels.

Dinky Kubelwagon...

which they labelled KDF. That's what the Beetle was known as before it got turned into an army vehicle.

Other Dinkys include...

a BEV Truck in good order.

A Cadillac Ambulance that has had a rear end shunt...

and a Fire Transit that still has its rear doors.

There's two Bedford Refuse trucks. The one with the compactor has lost one of teh rear flaps. Also the plastic of the compactor body has discoloured badly.
