I was told to be careful how I stored my Metosul Beetle as they don't like temperature changes, but I've just had a look and it's no different to when I bought it, thankfully!

Started cleaning up my big auction box, and my obvious start point is the Minis.

DSCF5870.thumb.JPG.66d2393b882b62857e5fb1f887824d96.JPG

First is a Corgi 339 Monte Carlo Winner that has lost its paint, tyres and roof rack.

DSCF5871.thumb.JPG.551ec026802d9c33c3c92e3af7bb03f3.JPG

It also has the cast hubs on the roof. This will go to the back of the queue for restoration.

DSCF5872.thumb.JPG.41301345fde896c894ab83e614e18923.JPG

Next we have three modern Corgi issues, which are all different castings.

DSCF5876.thumb.JPG.7daaa94a385019a4208a9de8e0eb62dd.JPG

The best one for proportions is the Cooper. This is the casting that when on to launch a thousand Vanguards.

DSCF5873.thumb.JPG.515eb72b4e0d2a31d5eeaedcb8d7fab7.JPG

Then we have one of the many versions of the Mr Bean Minis that Corgi have released. this one is Corgi 61211 that was released in 1998. I have no idea why people ask £25 upwards for a boxed one of these on Ebay because there are thousands of them out there. Perhaps the inflated price is due the the number plate being ACW 497V, which was the identical car that appeared in Back to School Mr. Bean.

DSCF5874.thumb.JPG.6f78be4780de68356707946395c53c40.JPG

Last of the modern Corgis is the basic model that was used in the Fina Petrol Series.

DSCF5875.thumb.JPG.230da5e20b0efd0a1f6b584a2852580f.JPG

Corgi Juniors Mini Sprint...

with no decals.

DSCF5878.thumb.JPG.d37f53d80f9d8bf869a93fadeca14bce.JPG

There are four Matchbox Racing Minis

DSCF5881.thumb.JPG.49712434f992497fa033cb552685a1aa.JPG

Two red.

DSCF5882.thumb.JPG.34bb3bb0cf7aefe4bd6b16d1a1fb1796.JPG

One bronze, with extra decal on bonnet.

DSCF5883.thumb.JPG.8443fdf947f13816bf6e1beaeeb6e503.JPG

One orange

DSCF5884.thumb.JPG.680d6f5b90adeafb390c46a451b2b8fb.JPG

Finally we have the Polistil cartoon Mini, that had some negative camber of the front axle.

DSCF5879.thumb.JPG.2b12a6c6a9deb2a73a5a779ca16bf1d8.JPG

DSCF5880.thumb.JPG.4ff00598c0a1d22e0a2b9c1783baf251.JPG

A quick bit of careful tweaking put the right.

The cleaning continues, this time it is Metro Time.

Seven small and one big in the big box.

DSCF5887.thumb.JPG.e365cf90f459acf5c9970ad90d928531.JPG

Some have black detailing on the grille and bumpers

DSCF5888.thumb.JPG.5f6d1f64999f31b3ba4f055fe4c78a0d.JPG

And some do not.

DSCF5889.thumb.JPG.237af785246a682bebcf8c76350238e9.JPG

Three racers.

DSCF5890.thumb.JPG.eeda66dc1244f724998cace75c64d3d0.JPG

Beige or red interiors in the Datapost cars.

DSCF5891.thumb.JPG.f152169886e7b76c9fdd36102917cd2a.JPG

Altogether for the two boxes I have 12 small scale Metros...

DSCF5892.thumb.JPG.621ede0cc186af42b6fcf1e32ebc3660.JPG

which is the same number of colours that the cars were available in when the first came on the market.

DSCF5893.thumb.JPG.d0cc7664e4f82b2cfae1df02fc0cfc1c.JPG

All I need now is a bunch of touching pots, and airbrush, a compressor and a couple of weeks and I can do a full colour range of Metros.

Don't often see those racing versions, the blue and red seem the most common

The rest of the small stuff from my auction lot.

DSCF5894.thumb.JPG.b4294a9b10b8d99f3601550c35441263.JPG

A busted Matchbox No.2 Jet and a corgi Juniors Police Chopper.

DSCF5895.thumb.JPG.038d015d64fd8b67b0e089fe92369124.JPG

A couple of Tom and Jerry Corgis. One is in good condition.

DSCF5896.thumb.JPG.26a47787f332c2e7589f156a4ecdeadb.JPG

This is not a Bertone Runabout.

DSCF5897.thumb.JPG.06238a19cc631b6a036f7a2b99012c90.JPG

It's Wonder woman out for a bit of a road trip.

DSCF5898.thumb.JPG.6ccf43c69d9e3bfa46a74aaa97ba019e.JPG

Corgi even changed the base, removing the Bertone Runabout and putting DC Comics on instead.

DSCF5899.thumb.JPG.b15cf84feec50fe9753b46695fa1c9ba.JPG

A bunch of busted Matchbox VWs.

DSCF5900.thumb.JPG.c658e0b902db61b04f614ad56d4b6cea.JPG

I now have two of these with missing right handle bar end.

DSCF5901.thumb.JPG.8ba02582a8be928088df2ca03ac7e634.JPG

A heavily over painted Countach. Going by the window colour this probably started life as a Streakers version.

DSCF5902.thumb.JPG.ab2e90dae851674245b567b8bc98a24c.JPG

A couple more well used mid 1970s Matchbox

DSCF5905.thumb.JPG.2ca9ba76ead95d10d17a1ed466807447.JPG

This Dinky was obviously built to fit in a certain size of box, the 296 Viceroy 37.

DSCF5906.thumb.JPG.d1e2d39dae76aaadfa043698d77b25ba.JPG

This one is well used.

DSCF5907.thumb.JPG.16f1fcdee20df2b48340423ef56e4b38.JPG

Unusual for such a late Dinky to have a tinplate base. It was originally released in 1972.

DSCF5908.thumb.JPG.a23eedd565060c79ab2af0179f4e2289.JPG

The scale is close to the Matchbox D-Series Ford Grit Spreader.

DSCF5909.thumb.JPG.8ad19358db2c6ce20c65bb7beef1d6a3.JPG

which also has lots of flaky paint.

but it does have both doors...

The whole thing is a bit of a dogs dinner, especially the raised roof.

The earlier green camper was much better proportioned.

Had a long trip out on Friday, on my travels I picked up this lot:

IMG_5054.thumb.JPG.426ee3a968aa537fd6bc76ed46802118.JPG

Most of the mainlines from Tesco and Sainsbury's, and Premiums from Smyths in Wigan. Particularly pleased to get the Land Cruiser, which would have made the ideal tow car for that Supra/trailer set they currently have. The Tacoma and Civic ended up being duplicates....
