However, the (correct) 333 paper sticker over the box ends causes me a dilemma - all the others I could carefully open and repack without any damage - on this I'd have to cut through that sticker... 19 hours ago, Noel Tidybeard said: corgi made the box sticker peelable so peeps could get at model Corgi originally placed the sticker so that one end flap could be opened without disturbing/cutting the sticker.

I've seen plenty of the larger Polistil Beetles with the ghastly external door hinges, but this smaller version had slipped under my radar until now. Battered box was not helped by the poor packaging it arrived in I had a Cabrio version. I see your example has the base with the 4 dimples that were used to locate the models when they came in the plastic boxes. AndyW201 and bunglebus 2

neil72 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 My latest 'find' is this rare Spot on VW - i say find as it was down to my wife, she volunteers for a local hospice that also has shops in the area, this and some other toys were donated before Xmas, the others were a mixture of dolls, trains, board games etc with a couple of other very common diecasts. My wife mentioned that i collect, the shop co-ordinator said their 'expert' had valued the toy and that they wanted £25 for it, so she gave them £25 and its mine. I know that is cheaper than what these go for on the open market, so i've donated a load of books, clothes and various bits and pieces that i didn't want after a house move. Its sometimes all down to luck! FakeConcern, morrisoxide, Datsuncog and 9 others 11 1
FakeConcern Posted January 9 Posted January 9 18 hours ago, Split_Pin said: That's brilliant, how did you make the decals? Thanks. As I'm a cheapskate I use MS Paint, but the XP download to work with W11. I try to find decent pic of the decal online, ebay often sell full size car decals and have a picture. If I can't I usually draw what I want in paint. If it has the wrong colour background I delete it all on paint. If the background is meant to be white I usually print it on paper and cover it with sellotape before sticking it on the car If the background needs to be clear I print on vinyl sticky back for printers, but try to save up a few to do at once. 16 hours ago, sheffcortinacentre said: I'd be interested too as I'm gonna need some making in 1:24 . To get the size correct, I paste my decal into Word and set the paper size to be A4 on my screen, I then drag the image to the correct size before printing it. I know It's a crap way to do it but it works! TLDR: Make decal with MS Paint Resize in Word Print on paper then cover with sellotape or on clear sticky vinyl. morrisoxide, Datsuncog, danthecapriman and 8 others 10 1

I got this just before I moved house but only just unboxed it for a gander. IXO Mack R series. Decided to give it a load test so borrowed the trailer currently sat behind the Scania and loaded up with a meaty load!😄 The R series is a truck I’ve fancied for a while but they don’t often come up cheap. This was the cheapest I could find so I bagged it. I’m a bit torn on the livery though! The cab itself looks pretty cool, but the bright white chassis & running gear doesn’t look great imho. Obviously on a real road truck it’d be a terrible choice. My intention was always a repaint tbh, but we’ll see. eddyramrod, morrisoxide, AndyW201 and 4 others 7

I've had a few good finds from there but you have to be quick! I've seen a few videos about using dye to change the colour of Hot Wheels to good effect, so I ordered some, left the Fiesta body sitting in a dark blue for a while - did nothing. Did a bit of further research and worked out I needed one for synthetics. Would you like to see what it did? Nothing. I don't know if it's because it's metallic so may have a clear lacquer, or whether Matchbox use a different formulation paint. I'd hoped to make it go more like Azure blue. Still can't work out which wheels to fit, I thought these Hot Wheels ones might work to represent the wheel trims Ford fitted but I'm not 100% sold I tried the 8 dots, but too much sidewall to my eye Current best option seems to be these 8 spokes off a Mini Detailing was really just rear fogs, mirrors, door handles, fuel cap, exhaust and some bits on the dashboard, the stereo bits in the boot and blacking out the rear post so it's less visible MiniMinorMk3, AndyW201, Datsuncog and 5 others 8

MiniMinorMk3 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 XR2 had extra black around the side windows and red reflectors in the bumper corners, also the 8-Spots look like Pepper Pots. danthecapriman 1
bunglebus Posted January 10 Posted January 10 More bits keep arriving! I wondered if this Mira CX might be one of their copies, but I think it's an original casting I've seen a number of these Corgi Transits in blue with an unpainted tailgate so I believe it to be original rather than having had the usually lost part replaced! Odd choice though I've had plenty of Husky VW T1 pickups with the elevated platform, and they're all yellow But not this one I thought it might be a repaint but it appears to be original I popped into Entertainer last night and found new moving parts, decided not to buy the Focus and list it on eBay for seven billion pounds But I did buy the Mazda RX7 This is about as good a view as you can get of the engine as the bonnet doesn't open far Nice detail though What I don't understand though, is why it needs a chrome base... ....when this does not, and would have looked better with it These two though, I couldn't be more pleased with. I got them off AliExpress so they'll probably be in every shop in the land next week Lastly, another slightly tatty box containing a great condition vehicle (from the same seller that had the Corgi Renault 5 Turbo), and one that brings back very strong childhood memories of playing with the one I got brand new in the 80s. The clicky wheels that wind the strung hooks in over the rear booms take me straight back to being about 9. It's really lovely, just a bit dusty I've never seen that towing dolly, my original didn't have one either. Did it exist? Dick Cheeseburger, sheffcortinacentre, Spottedlaurel and 8 others 11

Split_Pin Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Interior completed in the F10. I wanted to get a photo of it before the panels hide it forever. Some more pictures of the front of the chassis too: The back lights were a bit too dirty so I 'cleaned' them. Don't want a GV9 from the Transport Police! I've built lots of these trucks over the years but in the last few months I have tried to step it up. I usually I just paint a few parts like the engine and seats. The last truck I built in November however was the first where I spraypainted the cab. With this one I've tried to go next level with the detail and weathering. Progress feels slow but considering I only got it on Christmas day I've done alright I think. Things are helped by my wife also taking her time with the details on her 1/12 houses. This is meant to be a dining area for 3 people and thats it tidy! She is almost finished her beach hut (it's her 3rd) and next is her Winter Lodge that I got her for Christmas. Believe it or not this was all my idea 😂 captain_70s, AndyW201, MiniMinorMk3 and 14 others 17

sierraman Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I picked one of those Pete’s a while back. I also have the majorette one which is very similar, clearly not based on it but you can see they had it in mind. I’ve spaffed more than what I’d normally pay on a K150 Leyland Roadrunner but it’s one I’d been after for an age and they were not common as only made for a year or so.
