Very true!

I expect there’s a lot of people who’d cringe at some of the things I do with my models!😄

Is it a silly money though. Also note that Ebay listing is a RHD car, all the ones from Vectis shown are are LHD. Also Vectis state that it is an export version.

Also add on the 25% ish commission to get what the buyer paid.

yellowtina4.jpg.d1987c112df4b4ff8411078588e262da.jpg

I checked through all the Vectis sales for 313 Cortinas and only found one RHD yellow model.

yellowtina5.jpg.b8384f87313c6b712d38825d306c5315.jpg

By the way, a mint and boxed bronze of blue one is worth about £110 under the hammer.

Yes there silly money the LHD is rare but not worth the daft prices asked for either version.

I suppose, but I’m not convinced any of that represents good value! But it’s other people’s money and choice I guess.

I just collect the stuff I like, same as my 1:1 cars I'm not interested in their value.

That’s pretty much what I do. I’ve got no real interest in tracking down every variation of a single model/casting or every colour it came in, or even completing sets/collections.
Fair play if that’s your thing and all but not for me.
My thing is just what I like, but I tend to prefer things towards the scale model end of the spectrum and customised to my own taste. That’s a lot of what’s behind all the repainted modern models I do - not everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoy it.

Crikey! That’s a nice collection, and nicely presented too if I might say!😆

Whats the big yellow one? Looks like it’s a remote control??

I didn’t realise the Corgi GXL came with red dot wheels either!

The big yellow one  is a set of 4 remote control ones  from Spain (so LHD taunus) red saloon, police saloon with blues &sirens, estate ambulance with stretcher ( no patient)  but blues & sirens, all four have head & tail lights..

Not sure re the red dots as that one falls apart when you pick it up so I think has been messed with ( nothing else appears to be messed with. On it???

There's over 300 mainly MK3/4/5's smallest is a MK3 saloon ( from one of those model development s architect's  use ) to those taunus.

There's some pics elsewhere in this topic of some of the others.

Like the real cars it's 40 years of  collecting ( as a so called adult)  it passed obsession many many years ago!

There's also tons of other mainly mk3-4-5 memorabilia, parts etc for them as well as 7 1/2 real ones & the falcon Ute.

I see quite a few pop up on Facebook from Aldi especially - but I don't find any. Most common seem to be the Pajero and before that the Volvo drift wagon. I'd love to know the percentage of boxes that have one in

There were some packages awaiting my return too, several containing job lots of cars. Wasn't especially after a Majorette Mini but it's nicely done I think

This is a fun one, Superfast Mustangs are fairly uncommon, junior must have been a fan of Starsky and Hutch so painted his orange example to match. At least it's the right make...

Wow that Mini-Mira! Copy of the Matchbox as they did with several castings of the era. I wouldn't be surprised if you could persuade a Matchbox door to fit.

Are you having fun in Saltburn?

I got a coded message on Facebook the other day, telling me a big box from @FakeConcern had arrived.  So yesterday I collected it on the way to Carer Support, where I unboxed it (mostly for you guys) and repacked it so it can live in the boot of the Jag until they're all smuggled into the house in my pockets.

It is a Vanguards Princess, yes, the Diplomatic Protection Squad.  That's already gone into my Police cabinet.  The XJ12, since it was in the car with me today, has gone to a new owner on the strength of a casual conversation.  Hopefully I'll see it restored, most likely in a civilian dress.

Yes, it is much nicer than I expected.  Several of the items are, including some I fully intended to strip and repaint.  It's also my first Vanguards Princess!  Put it next to a Dinky one and you can really see the size difference.  The Dinky is huge.

Aye, I do like Saltburn. I got them from a tiny popup market at the train station, last time I got a Zylmex Ford pickup.
