A pair of Corgi Revopak bin lorries were unearthed - both a bit the worse for wear, and one with a wooden brick lodged in the payload area.

Big Super Kings ERF fire turntable was ok, but incomplete and with some UV damage.

I'll probably find out later that this is some sore of pre-production model worth ££££...

EFSi Mercedes artic was unusual:

IMG_20231222_0751452.thumb.jpg.062a71999ac6fe86a9d6f7bf30e0e9fa.jpg

I say unusual; I found a battered cab for one of these two weeks ago, so they can't be that unusual. I just wasn't aware of them before.

I think I still have my boxed example of this. I think.

But, mostly, the box was chock-full o' general no-name tat like this:

This Bunglebus-approved Corgi Carrier had also appeared:

A quick spin round the other stalls brought disappointingly little...

One of the other general tat merchants appeared to be trying to turn a profit from some of last week's one-pound models:

IMG_20231222_0745552.thumb.jpg.5d31c18ce0d66011bc1550ff6bcd9277.jpg

Double your money, hey?

Best of luck with that...

Meanwhile, Alan's Emporium was also looking to the sky for pricing...

IMG_20231222_0816572.thumb.jpg.07c6a4f15251119f4fc73bb1e19c6282.jpg

Yowser.

50p Tray a bit underwhelming today, too.

The Charity Stall seemed to have done so well from their Nazi memorabilia last week that there was no need for the separate diecast stall, or indeed much in the way of display efforts...

IMG_20231222_0823052.thumb.jpg.a6cd3acc75b79ff2fa224e545e69280d.jpg

That's the Dinky S.H.A.D.O. thingy still in the case.

Though this mildly dog-eared Corgi BTTF DeLorean was available:

IMG_20231222_0822592.thumb.jpg.daeff2eca155e3f1faeb4a381d0e133a.jpg

Doubt it was cheap, though...

A turn past the Irish Tat stall brought a handful of new Hot Wheels...

IMG_20231222_0820102.thumb.jpg.683e6c892f377d7bd76e884412d60996.jpg

...and a Greenlight or two.

£8.99 for a Fiesta? Crikey.

So there really wasn't a lot to part this specific fool from his money, this time round...

@Datsuncog That box of Lego with all the yellow bits in?  Isn't Lego, it's Airfix Betta Bilda.  I have some still that I've had from new back in the Swinging Sixties.  I would be interested to know the price, although I suspect it'll be rather too heavy to post.

That Kays Transit was a promo special for the Catalogue in about 1990. I remember it being one of many items displayed in my Corgi Collector Club Magazine that weren't generally available - just why show us collectors these things? It was part of a set, paired with possibly a Superhauler.

£10 asking price on the biscuit tins of not-Lego... interesting, as I had a few flat pieces just like those in amongst my (secondhand) Lego as a kid - always assumed it was just some style of 'old' Lego, rather than a completely different brand (yet compatible with actual Lego, from memory).

But yes, postage could well cost the same again, rather knocking down the bargain factor...

Sorry I didn't answer yetsterday, I only had a quick look at it, then wrapped it up. I thought of finding a Corgi to put next to it and taking a pic, but the moment passed.

We had that as kids as well, also Bilofix which was like wooden Mecano I think.

That sounds about right, it reminded me of the Tonka buggy in looks and actually heavier I think. I'll get them together with the Corgi after Christmas unless our resident scale meister has done a comparison by then!

Turns out Betta Bilda isn’t quite Lego compatible, slightly different dimensions on the studs.
I thought it would be worth arse all, but a quick scan of the Bay suggests that it sells quite well. Though whether it’s popular enough to offer any profit on that tin full of the stuff is a different matter.

I had some, it went in the bin in the end, couldn’t sell it. I don’t think it’s anything like as collectible as what you’d think. This was 2-3 years ago but doubt much has changed

You’ll most probably find the value of it rocketed the second yours all went in the back of the bin truck!😆

Entertainer had received two 2024 Hot Wheels C cases at some point, probably Wednesday so they'd been fairly well rummaged - but there were still goodies within;

Is the low flying DeLorean any different to the previous ones?

That VW could almost be a preproduction, yellow seemed to be a trial colour to test how the casting would look.

Cracking read this thread. I'm finding myself tuning in to @Datsuncog table top sale viewings and buys now every Friday.

Any of you guys into 1:18's? Iv'e just bagged this on Facebook and think it looks great for displaying my old models.

I now have some duplicate models as well if anyone is interested in swaps?

So I did, eventually, get myself a much-needed coffee and something disgustingly gooey but ever so wonderful...

IMG_20231222_0828512.thumb.jpg.3e8ad4cd9354aacc47c66b415ed8b6fb.jpg

(All thanks to @andrew e!)

And then went forth to get a few messages from Central Belfast.

But, on the way back, I stopped for another quick browse just in case...

Well, the Corgi BTTF DeLorean had migrated over to the General Tat stall, and a box of lightly chipped Disney Pixar Cars items had arrived, at £1 a go...

I thought I'd taken pics, but apparently not.

But Alan did seem to have a few more items on his 50p tray from earlier... I kind of make it a personal policy to buy up any clean Matchbox or Hot Wheels I encounter at this sort of price point, so accordingly I did a buy...

IMG_20231222_1133082.thumb.jpg.7421e6b2b6ff40dbee032d881e7cc7fa.jpg

Matchbox Crown Vic taxi was unfamiliar to me - base indicates this is from c.2008.

'Spot On Taxi' tampo on the door - surely not a reference to the long-gone Triang range?

IMG_20231222_1132592.thumb.jpg.f39a05f0f41243924d053378090fde21.jpg

Hot Wheels 'Fish N Chipped' (or however it's spelled) - a custom Jaguar Mk X always seemed a left field choice. I formerly had a two-tone blue and silver version, but I think it looks better in this hot pink finish.

IMG_20231222_1133152.thumb.jpg.3ad5f6e82f0c0218f54ad5f6c2f0397e.jpg

Matchbox VW Caddy is another one that must have gone under my radar at the time. Again, quite appealing in DHL colours, even if the wheels are a bit big...

IMG_20231222_1133282.thumb.jpg.7fad43d6f8d9035526f0a8ce7bac31c8.jpg

Greenlight '67 Mustang 'Eleanor', from the Gone In 60 Seconds remake.

There were literal stacks of these in Poundland five or six years ago - seemingly snapped up cheap as a rejected batch. I bought loads of them at the time, but sold them all on - I think a lot of folks wanted them primarily as wheel donors.

So it's kinda nice to have one for myself.

This one has a paint flaw on the passenger door, but hey.

IMG_20231222_1133342.thumb.jpg.3405d0f9e58566fac063497c6edd31ea.jpg

Engine detail not too bad for this small scale.

OH NO

IMG_20231222_1133392.thumb.jpg.53eadbf624ed81c9134f8ae6a24747a7.jpg

Bonnet shonk. Seems the lugs have come out of the little cradle under the scuttle.

I'm sure I'll be able to fix it.

So!

I guess that's it for the day...

IMG_20231222_1132542.thumb.jpg.1b83f969b55a135b6eea8927ab6740de.jpg

And that's it for the year, pretty much. As far as I can tell, the market's on a break next week.

So - thank you all for sharing Tat Friday with me during 2023. As ever, you make it what it is!

Happy Friday, kids.

And a calm and peaceful festive season to all.

As some of you may or may not be aware the Dinky Buggy is a model of the Renegade Beach Buggy, one of the many buggies that were available in the early 1970s.

OIP.GQe3MlY90xbv-U8Q9kTvYgHaFN?rs=1&pid=

In the about 1983 when I was roaming the streets in my Baja Bug I met through a mate someone who owned a Renegade and had some moulds for the body. His buggy was painted yellow just like the regular Dinky version.

Those usually came in the bubble pack type boxes

But Dinky Buggies can be found in various shade as it was one of the Dinkys that could be brought as a kit.

I remember a particularly amusing eBay ad for one in a "rare colour M9" that was clearly a brush painted kit version.

I've gone through a few of these, got a kit one with funky decals

If you don't see me posting for a few days, send the police round, because I'll be under the patio.
