I'll have couple of numbers as well if roffleage were to proceed.

An open raffle is not strictly legal, as you need to seek approval from local something or other yadda yadda. But, as you have to be a member of Autoshite to partake in one of our raffles, my understanding is that it's therefore a private 'amongst friends' raffle so all is good. Good luck with whichever route works for you.

Fun fact, this car is for sale for the exact same amount as it costs to replace the exhaust on a 2005 Honda Civic. That's VALUE.

I'll have a couple of ramdoms for this private members game, if it goes ahead.

Location can be an issue for sub-grand snotters I've found. It's too old for people just after a cheap motor, but folk will look at the distance and be put off having a punt on a cheap classic. If it's really true that Vauxhall fans will wet themselves over it, then maybe contact clubs/forums direct. I have no doubts that a raffle will see it gone though, depending on ticket price.

This. I don't have time for a project, but that it perfect for a 1.8e 8V out of a mk2 cavalier (as per mk1 astra gte)

I'd also be up for a couple of numbers!

Me too.

I don't know what you're moaning about, that looks fine to me.

After saying it's for outright sale and no raffle, you appear to have had no offers but had 26 raffle tickets claimed. Is this some kind of record?

hope that includes my ones earlier in the thread;)

/\ It includes 4 of them - could be 1 more depending on ticket price! And IF a raffle is forthcoming...

Why not just try and punt it on a specialist Vaux forum for 500 quid? Chances are the 1.2 motor wouldn't be a problem as it'll get binned for a Red Top anyway.

If Louise is worried about raffle laws, why don't we all just give her a couple of quid and she can pick a name at random to lend the car to on a permanent basis?

Posted

Or Louise could raise money for the Louise2cv Charity Fund by arranging a Crazy mad bonkers Banger Rally to the shops and back. We could all sponsor her in this totally mental endeavour and she draws a sponsors name out of a hat at the end of the event to decide who keeps the car.

No raffle, no raffle laws. WIN!

any idea of the location of this piece of poo brown automotive loveliness?

I'm remembering that Turbo Techniques did a kit for the mk1 1.8 8V astra GTE which was 145 Bhp which would be MORE cool. Please raffle it so that I can build the ultimate Q car. I'm thinking that MOST of the mechanicals are interchangeable with mk1 to mk4 astra*, so plenty of donors for something mechanically quick.  The only thing I wouldn't do is polish it.

Yeah, sorry Caernarfon.

Just have it delivered  to my parents in LLANDONNA, and they'll put it in their garage, When I inherit the house, I'll remember I own it and do something.

Now daring eBay.

Sorry for wimping out on the raffle, even looked into getting a licence.

You sold it for £350 then, Louise? I'm not surprised it got snapped up at that price, old-ish Vauxhalls seem to be fetching strong money at the moment.

My cousin has just sold the 1992 2.0 8v Calibra I passed on to him a few years ago – with no MOT, rusty rear arches, hideous chav wheels and a smashed windscreen – for a whopping £750.

Posted

Yeah, maybe we were wrong about its value!

But its one less thing to worry about and I feel comfortable that at that price and with the description I gave, it's not going to come back and haunt me.

Also, without wanting to be sexist, chance might have helped the sale along a bit; I didn't realise at the time but I listed it just as Call the Midwife was about to start. I have visions of men running away from the telly and having a quick look at eBay :D

I think you've done alright there, you probably could have got another £100 with a following wind but who knows how many clueless dithering shitehawks you'd have had to deal with before that buyer came along. Id rather take £100 less just to get a deal over and done with quickly.

Well, all I'm suggesting is it was posted here and sold almost immediately.

Who bought it? Come on, own up!

Yes, so far the buyer seems friendly, literate, communicative and reasonable, so...

Could be a 'shiter, but not outed themselves yet. Unless they are hoping I cotton on. I'm too simple for subtlety!
