I read that Mr Kipper arrived driving a LHD BMW?

He had a 325i but I think that was at a different time. I’d have to check the book out.

I'm sure I heard that. He arrived at the house viewing in a BMW

It's another matter whether that person was John Cannan or not

he supposedly had a Sierra at the time, years later it was tracked down to a breakers, I’d have to re read it but supposedly they found her DNA in it.

It was a red late Sierra that was stored at a North London dealership and they apparently had the car for several years (?) in which they found 2 hairs belonging to Suzy.

However, load of reports suggest that "Mr Kipper" arrived in a black E30 BMW 3-series, of which he owned at the time. He was caught with this car when he tried and to attack a woman in a shop.

Speaking of American cars. The killing of Alan Leppard in 1991 in the village of Monkton between Ramsgate and Canterbury apparently involved the killers arriving in a big white American car.

No one actually knows what make/model the car was, though the killers were dubbed the "Cadillac killers". One of the duo entered a local pub asking the barman about Alan Leppard, the man was English but described as looking like a gangster heavy with a pinstripe suit on and couple of gold rings on the fingers.

Later on in the evening, they tried calling at his house, he didn't know who they were so went down the side and got shot dead at point-blank range presumably by a 12-bore shot gun.

Looks like an early 80s Buick Regal, or possibly a Caddy Seville.

That was what was used in the CWUK construction which is what the picture is from, but none of the witnesses could positively identify the car other than it being, big, American and white in colour. It was definitely such an elaborate car for such a big crime as murder, yet no one could identify it!

The woman who Alan Leppard was with at the time was also murdered 8 months later, but this was tracked down to her former car dealer boyfriend.

Nope, black 316.

As I've said in the Deadpool thread, I am very pissed off that that cunt has snuffed it without revealing where Suzy Lamplugh is and what he did to her.

IIRC he is quoted as saying that he won't admit to anything while his mother was alive. I'm inclined to be 50/50 regarding his guilt.

Are you the other person that spends evenings watching old Crimewatch reconstructions? 👍

I read the book about six years ago, it’s somewhere in the loft, I’m mind to look for it now. A 316 makes sense as he was punching above his weight constantly.

Wonder what happened to it? Maybe it’s still in storage pending investigation or court cases.

😅 Yeah, actually I did this ages ago, probably last year when I heard that most of the old series was up on YouTube. The reconstructions were just as scary now as they were then.

The car of the father of the massacred Nantes family was discovered Friday morning in the Var

Citroen C5 owned and later abandoned by Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes, a Frenchman who may or may not have murdered his family and buried them in the garden of their house in 2011, and then disappeared.

The Kidnapping of Gary Collier. The Hand in the Trunk.

Strange story of a bloke getting kidnapped and slung in the trunk boot of a 1964 Dodge 330 for a $350 disability check. Garry managed to get his hand through the trunk boot rubber and attracted the attention of the news. But this news was treated as a joke at first.

Intern reporter Mark Winne and veteran photographer Jerry Ayres where sent out to chase the car down to put the story to bed.

They shot this photo and the chase was on.

Winne and Ayres stopped the car just long enough for the police to box in the Dodge and arrest its occupants. The female driver was 24-year-old Robin Green of Birmingham, and the two male passengers were 27-year-old Joseph Fendley of Morris, and his uncle, 49-year-old Wilburn Fendley of Bessemer.

The man who climbed barefoot out of the trunk was 35 year old Gary Collier, the first thing he asked for was a cigarette. During the 14 hours he was in the trunk Collier said he could hear people inside the car talking about where to dump his body.

What happened to Joseph Fendley and Robin Green is unknown. Court records pertaining to the charges brought against them have not been found. The judge did however drop the charges against Wilburn Fendley because he had joined Green and Fendley after Collier had been robbed and put in the trunk.

After his rescue, Collier thanked Winne and Ayres, telling Ayres, “I’d done made my peace, or was trying to”.

It seems like quite a distinctive car to use for a murder?

On further reading, I believe him to be no criminal mastermind. A love triangle/crime of passion apparently and he was caught wheeling the body down the road in a wheelbarrow in another sequence. Did he not trust the car to make it up the hill? Inspiration for the next series of Fargo at least.

Recently, YouTube decided to reccomend me a channel called "A walk with Phil" in which a nice auld lad from West Brom goes on walks around the local area reminiscing the old days.

He also occasionally covers past murders that made local headlines. I didn't know much about this one, but apparently in 1978 in West Brom, some crazed fella called Barry Williams went on a shooting spree around the local area.

He first shot his neighbour and neighbours' son dead as they were working on a Triumph Spitfire around 7pm:

He entered the neighbours house and killed the Mum and wounded the daughter.

Williams then took off in his Ford Capri and shot indiscriminately at various people including 2 young boys playing football on a neighbouring street and a woman walking up the same road, all missed. Unfortunately he did later take the lives of a married couple who ran a petrol station in Nuneaton.

The Triumph apparently lasted until 1986 (last V5 issued 1987) and the Capri, a 2.0 jobbie lasted until 1984, so at least a good 6 years after the incident.

What car did Fred have? I thought with the building game he’d have something a bit more substantial than a crappy Rascal? A bag of sand and a couple of bodies and you’d be over the weight limit?

The significance of this has always fascinated me, the police think it has some link to the Melanie Hall murder. According to the very vague news reports they suggest it was ‘off the records’ at the time of the murder. Seems very tenuous to me? Where have they got the picture from?

Someone fitted late model Big Bumpers and cross spoke alloys.

The car is still on SORN with the DVLA. Last change of V5 was December 1998.

Reading between the lines it was probably bought by the person they strongly suspect has done it but not registered in their name. From watching the various documentaries the Police and the family have a good idea who has done it but can’t for whatever reason conclusively prove it, they cryptically hint at this whenever it comes up.
