  1. @grogee Cheers for the heads up. I'll have a ganders at them. I got mine insured and taxed at the weekend. What a good going thing it is! Then discovered a patch of oil under it.... Was very lucky to spot that the oil filter was slack. Because it was the wrong one! It wouldn't tighten. Found the right number on the Mann Hummel site and luckily the factors had one in stock.
  2. That's true. Hiccups were about to happen in those many processes of building a car. Was it not an GM X-Car sent down the line with both the 5 door and 3 door pressings? Beating the Hyundai Veloster by a number of years 😆. No pilot hole or any protection to the paint 😆. Straight in, no kissing hahaha. Been fascinated with watching shit factory videos. Another good one from the same person. Then a report by Top Gear about the Polish car industry and car ownership as a whole.
  3. That car reminds me of this video I saw on YouTube. Had a small chuckle at (4.48 on the video) how they shown a 125p in the background with a moulding missing off the rear door. Like wow, banging on about inspections and just booted a car out like that. Plus they stored cars anywhere and everywhere, even in the factory there was areas was rammed with cars. Anyway. Would be nice to see that one saved or used to save others. But as others had said before, it'll likely see the oval.
  4. I'll put that on before chopping into them. Then I'll cry, tank a can of Monster then sit for an hour with this expression (sans ciggie).
  5. These are not going to be fun to fix. Did get a pair of wings thrown in. So I've got metal to play with. "I'll just open the boot and see what I've got. Ah! Shit, that's not ideal" Got plastic bumper ones and they are almost too good to chop up. Fuck it! I'll not poke the bear for the moment. I'll look into it next year, inners will definitely need done too. That doesn't worry me. As long it's metal back in there, nae one will ken how I made them once the sealer and gravitex is over it. Those shite mudflaps are getting thrown tae fuck in aw! Rust causing bastards!
  6. Little more on the Maestro. Went about the site. It's a nippy little bugger. Fires up near instantly and runs sweet. It's way better than I thought. Went in with low expectations, because of what it is. But pleasantly surprised, it's not that terrible at all. Think it's the law to take photos of a new purchase? That has to be the most amount of room I've seen in an engine bay! The not so gooder parts. Yeah, it's been subjected to some interesting repairs. That means I'll have something to update this thread with as I pick through it. Ahhh... Also have a "slight" issue with the arches. I'll do a separate post for that.
  7. Things happened. Tried to sell Corsa. Fitted Bilstein coilovers and refit 15's instead. Decided (again) finish it now, need to pull finger out. Tried to sell Nova. No bites... Yet. Then Maestro arrived. I suck at getting rid of stuff. May part out the Nova and sell the rolling shell a bit cheaper to move it on. I'm just not going to get round to doing it. Maestro can be the fun/annoying retro, as it is on the road! Toyota has been with me long enough to need another MOT. Ahhh, bollocks that on the 3rd!
  8. I feel as if joined a very exclusive club. That no sane person wants a part of. Which I like. Hahah, no worries. I shall get more deets and photaes this coming week. A-Series is a sweetie too.
  9. On the Nova? Yeah no bother. It is a project tho. Might do a for sale ad on here. Then I can post all teh pics then.
  10. Just need someone to unload my Nova off too now 😆. Oh. Got the message from a pal at the unit. It's here! Thanks to @worldofceri for bringing up, cheers again bud.
  11. *Picture borrowed from Ceri* That'll be the Maestro I actually never intended to buy on it's way to me today. Looking forward to it.
  12. "So how much metal did you need to cut out then?" "Yes!"
  13. I understand your frustration. Seems so clear after the fact. Unfortunately it's completely normal to happen. Think we've all been there. I know I have and feel completely fucking stupid after just assuming something. I can only hope the luck turns around soon. I've enjoyed this thread even with the setbacks.
  14. You're clean aff ya heed! Excellent! This is what I wanna see! Chodspeed sir!!
  15. Got a small grump. Trying to sell Nova parts via FB. Forgot how much of a chew on it is.
  16. After seeing the *joy you had with yours. I'll try to mentally prepare for the misery that will unfold when I dig into mine. The Nexia I owned taught me a hard lesson about that. Damn lucky I could get panels to sort that mess out. Visually it was only a very small section that was rotten. Think for now, I'll leave mine alone for the short term. Because no doubt there be other issues to sort first.
  17. Yes, it does appear to be the most flattering* colour for one. It was either the red or level expert doom blue you see the most of. Not as many white or black cars floating about.
  18. Been a wee bit busy this weekend. Cavalier sold yesterday. New owner is coming for it in a few weeks. Which is fine, as the car is booked in for tracking. This got me thinking what else I should get rid of. Yeah, lost the notion for it. As it's close, but it needs paint, glass and time. If I'm gonna put that effort in then it should be the Astra Saloon I've had for years. For the craic though. I got a seat flung in it and took it a small drive about the sheds. Instantly got a fright, as I forgot to check if the suspension was done up properly! 😆 Small part of me is also thinking about moving the Nova on too. Again it's for the above reasons and the room would be great too. Think it'll do my head some good too. Can be more focused with less cars. Plus, I ended up buying an effin Maestro too 😆! More on that soon.
  19. Hopefully they won't be utter litter to sort. They have been filled before, so hopefully the grot doesn't go too far in. I shall bear the shockers in mind. Going to wait until the car is with me. That gent known as @worldofceri is fetching it up for me. I'm stupid, but not THAT stupid to drive it home 😆.
  20. Got some more pics of the Ledbury from the last owner. It's been lowered. Did ask if he had the original shocks. Unfortunately he didn't have them. So far this is the extent of the arch rust. Doesn't look toooo bad I think? So I'm hoping I can scab some repair sections from the extra pair of front wings I'm getting with it. @andy18s cheers for the heads up and also exposing my lack of self restraint for sodding Maestros 😆.
