Why have I not owned a Maxi yet?

Better hurry up as they are getting rare and prices are on the rise! ;)

Well she is still on the road. She is now on the isle of wight.the starter motor packed up but I have replaced it with a new one but she still turns over very sluggish.

The offside suspension still goes down but hopefully I have cured that.

I have replaced the dash it was awful. Just repaired the front brakes.

Tomorrow I am going to repair the clutch slave cylinder and give her a good road test so fingers crossed.

Replaced all the exhaust mounts.

Started on the engine mounts. Can't find the front one to the cross member.

Next job oil change it is rather black.

typical BL gear change. Very sloppy.

Soon I hope to get the rear wheel arches done.

Hello I hope everyone is happy and enjoying their cars?

I am indeed in the middle of purchasing another Maxi, she has been sat in a garage since 1995, I aim to have her picked up at the end of the month. I had lost my interest in cars for a while and am currently in a rare position of only having one vehicle.

I shall probably make a thread when she is collected. I have to honest I wasn't sure how much interest there was in vehicles like this on here anymore, glad to see there is still some.

I have attached a couple of photo's of her.

There are a few of us old ' perverts ' still here, ( albeit seemingly in the minority now!) , and yes- I am interested.

I'm not a Maxi man, but like autoshite resurrections.

That looks fun. Keep us posted

Seems to be more interest than ever. Even my common as muck MGB GT has a fair bit of interest on here.

Please do a thread on your new Maxi. At the very least I'm interested. We also now have a few Maxi owners on here too.

You were unsure how much interest a Maxi that's sat in a garage for 23 years would get on Autoshite?!

Come on, man! This is like crack to us!

I think the scope of AS has widened over the years, but whilst the passage of a decade has meant more cars have fallen into shite territory, nothing has actually fallen out.

I can’t access the link above, but I’m pretty sure this is on the Isle of Wight now in quite a poor state.
