Sehr Gut! I have a green Siku one, but its a bit smaller! How the hell did you come by a new old stock roof skin?

With great difficulty :D

I found a German bloke who had a barn full of parts.

He didn't speak English and I don't speak German so we communicated via pictures and shouting in our respective languages :D

Hey I got a distrubutor fitted in Hungary last week using the exact method!

That resto is full of spectacularness.

All you need on the drive to complete that eighties 'What Car?' group test look is a dark metallic E12 528i and a Rover 3500S. In Gold.

Seriously - well done. I did my body/paint apprenticeship at a VAG garage in 1986-7 and there were still quite a few second gen 100's around as well as Series 2 80's, Jettas and Mark 1 Rolfs. My first job was putting a wing on a 1977 Mark 1 Polo. It was an auction bound shitter - pattern wing FTW!

Missed this thread before.

Well done on all your hard work! Great reading about it.

Feel I must add my two-penneth, this is spectacular, love the old bus, and it's going to be splendid when it's done.

Make sure you obtain classic insurance with a mental valuation. You don't want this car to be written off for a broken headlight in a Morrisons carpark.

Excellent work, like some of the other chaps I'm amazed you were able to source that new roof panel  I can't wait to see pics of the finished article 8)

What a fantastic project, the work looks top quality, I look forward to seeing the old girl completed

Christ on a bike that looks mega. Top work!

Epic! That is gorgeous. Blows mine into the weeds and rightly so, that is one proper job you've done there.

You must be grinning like a wanking chimp at the result. Utterly splendid behaviour.
