Jim, the owner, does seem to have a penchant for sending certain Fiats to the USA, then following on and driving them about a bit...

Not long after the launch of the new 500 he took one across the Pond.

It stayed in the USA though, in a museum... 8)

It all started with a £100 Panda called 'Sylvia', named after the previous owner... Jim wanted to go to the FLU fiat freakout in 2006. It was in Detroit. So 'Sylvia' was shipped to New York. From New York, Jim then went to San Francisco via Detroit. Then back to New York to get 'Sylvia' on the return ship to Liverpool.

Re: How small is a Fiat Panda?

small and slow, best avoided, unless your a too-tall hypocondriac mummy's boy carpark attendant, failed plumber and serial liar (this only applies to one fiat owner, but its worth mentioning)

Great set of pictures. I like fish out of water cars.

The building on the far left is 1450 Broadway, which was used as the WNYX office exterior in the 90s sitcom NewsRadio. [/TV obsessive]

Excellent. A while back, a load of Austin 7 owners shipped their cars over, drove the length of Route 66 and then shipped them back. Insane stuff. Would love to do something similar with the 2CV, though I'd have to get used to the whole hatred of flying/boats thing...

I'm guessing the 'Juppy' monicker of the first Panda derives from the last three letters on the reg.

Thanks for sharing this Vin, those pictures are remarkable! Doesn't a Panda look SO out of place there?!

I had one about 12 years ago, a white 4x4 just like that ^ with the Chinq wheels, too! An absolute hoot, I loved it.

I've seen the bestickered one in my street! I can't remember exactly when it was, but not that long ago.

Before coming back over to "not so sunny Scotland" I was in Florida for a couple of months in Sarasota and noticed they had opened up a new FIAT dealership on US41 (Tamiami Trail) - they only appear to sell the 500 model - funnily enough I did not see ONE single solitary FIAT 500 on the road during that time...
