alright shiters

A few long-time RR'ers will have seen this car before, I bought it in about 2005 (when it had already sat in a shed for 10 years). Now its had 5 more years sitting in my shed. Well this weekend it is getting trailered back to the UK for fettling and UK reg'ing!!

I got a feller off shiply on the case, went to see him tonight, getting picked up Sat am and droped off sun PM if all goes to plan.

Exciting times!!!

Exciting times indeedy!, What work does it need that you know off other then a clean?

I know nothing about these, Is it a early 80's model? 2.0 or V6?.

Crikey, that's going back a while. Didn't you take it for a jetwash and then it conked out?

Nice idea sorting out existing cars instead of adding to the pile, that's what I'm doing this year too.

THESE ARGENTAS ARE COMING OVER HERE STEALING OUR JOBS, CAUSING HOUSE PRICES TO FALL AND GIVING US CANCER. IF ONLY DIANA WAS STILL HERE.

Off the road for 15 years? Should be a reasonable amount of stuff to keep you busy there I reckon. Good work though, that'll be really nice when done.

I really look forward to reading more about this one :)

That's gorgewous, that.

I spy a towball bracket too - you'll be wanting one of these for maximum points:

I've got a lot of time for those big old barges.

Squint a bit and it could look like one of these.

So all is not lost.

LOL, that's exactly what I was thinking. Wonder if there's a link between that A111 and Bol's sudden decision to bring the Argenta home after five years?

Just out of curiosity, how expensive is it to get a car Shiply'd over from Frogistan? There really is some wonderful tat on Leboncoin, but I'm not sure I could face driving some of it halfway across the country.

There is a lad called James Nicholson in the Fiat Club who has/had at least a couple of these. Not seen him for ages so don't know what his state of play is but I can probably get contact details if you need 'em.

Hey you've got a good memory Hirst, thats exactly what happened. The fuel tank is full of rusty shite unfortunately, so much so that it can block a new fuel filter in 6 miles, as I found out when i took it for an illegal blezz to the jetwash. I did buy a tank off Mirafioriman a year or two ago but have not been up to carlisle to collect it!!! If he has weighed it in that will teach me a lesson i suppose.

I dont think it needs a massive lot TBH. the tank needs sorting, the headlining has sagged, the fuel pump relay seems to be kippered and the brakes will no doubt need looking at. Probably the tyres will be shafted as well due to age. The body is unwelded though, the paint is original (I think) and the engine, a 2000 injected twink, is sweet.

My custard cannon has just gone off.

Always liked these, my Uncle had some pastashite in the late '70s to '80's

R Plate Lancia Beta 2000 - bought back by Lancia due to OMGRUSTCHAOS, money gained he spunked on a Pink(?) Miafiori estate, which then got chopped for a Gold 132, which in turn went for an Argenta.

Then he got sensible and bought something else - that strangely enough I can't remember.

Cheers. My memory is quite something - I can't remember anything which might prove useful, it used to drive my old boss mad - he'd ask me on Wednesday about something from Monday and I wouldn't have a clue about it as my "work memory" only goes back to the previous day at best. However, if you want to know what happened when you took the Argenta for a wash many years ago, I'm your man. I think you referred to the trip as being "highly illegal" and I seem to recall the jetwash being quite a fancy one. You took it there because it was dusty and you were impressed with the way it seemed to just fire up and drive alright so thought you'd chance it.

As for that spreadsheet I did, boss? No idea. Don't even remember opening Excel. Was I here that day? I've not booked leave. I'll have a look at it. Doesn't even look familiar when I open it. Why did I do it like that? Did I definitely do that on Monday? Computer says I did. Must have done. Is that it then? Did I send you it? Oh, I Emailed you it. So what's this spreadsheet all about then? Well, I can't remember why I sent you it. I'm sure it meant something at the time. Ah well! etc.

This year has started with some epic fleet updates. First the 1000 and now this!

I'm looking forward to reading more about this. I love 70's and early 80's Fiats. The 131 and 132 are 2 of my favourites. I doubt I'll ever own either, but its good to read about someone elses example being returned to the road :D

That is lovely, and it must be almost unique for a Fiat of that age to not need any welding! :)

WINNAR!.

That's a fair old hike with a Discovery and Trailer, the bloke must have been knackered by the time he got it back to you.

Awesome stuff! It's always good to get an update from Castle Bollox.
